F1 is not about motorsport.

F1 is a celebrity soap opera, set against the backdrop of motorsport.

While Bernie and I have historically disagreed about how to strike that balance, Bernie is also a very smart and funny guy who made the choices he did very intentionally and made buckets of money for people. A big reason Bernie was able to charge such outrageous amounts for F1 was because it *wasn't* focused on motorsport.

Motorsport is dying everywhere because communication has supplanted transportation in daily life. Racing cars is following the same path to irrelevance as horse racing did when transport changed from horse to car.
