Everyone likes to pile on Boston because, ya know, Boston. But really this trade kinda makes sense, the Celtics have too many guards and the management and coaching staff like them, Markelle Fultz COULD be a all star caliber player, but the past couple years have shown that the draft has very little talent that actually pans out.

It's kinda like the Bill Belichick syndrome, the guy literally trades out of the first round practically every single year and stockpiles picks, those picks are good trade bait for players currently in the league, and good leverage when trading players away.

All in all, we'll just have to wait and see.

1. Fultz wouldn't put them over the top next year
2. Rarely is a pg the best player on a championship team anyway (isiah, steph, magic the only ones since what 1980???)
3. The celtics now have 8 first round picks in the next three years
4. It is obvious that battling Lebron and the Warriors is near futile and will take a ton of cap. Adding Fultz with superstars creates a timeline discrepancies in addition to the already non-guarantee of making/winning the finals
5. Building a team with lots of first round talent is exactly how the spurs dynasty was created and how the warriors dynasty was created. Boston looks to be doing the same
