Boxing is dead

Just watched the fight. What a fucking joke.

The first punch that Kovalev complained about in the 8th was definitely illegal. It was a HEAVY left hook to the groin. The fight should have been paused for Kovalev to recover, and Ward should've received another warning, at least, if not a point deduction. However, the fight wasn't paused, putting Kovalev at a major disadvantage and resulting in him being rocked Ward's right hand. But it was the lowblow that was effecting Kovalev because even after being rocked he kept touching his groin. Then during the final exchange, Ward throws another 3 "bodyshots" and at least 2 of them were low. Kovalev instinctively bends forward to hide his groin while grimacing and then the ref insta-stops the fight. It was an absolute joke. It would have been bad enough had the ref simply called it as a knockdown, since it was obviously the result of lowblows, but to stop the fight was just absurd. The fight is a no-contest. Dirty fighting by Ward, terrible decision-making by the ref.
