I wouldn't say Carolina choked. But their coach went for 2 when it wasn't really needed (13 minutes left, down 5 at the time - it wasn't a bad call but...)

So then they went for 2 again when they scored to take the lead 22-21.

When the Pats scored to go up 5, they went for it and made it.

So 2 lost points to failed PATs for the Panthers. 1 extra point for the Pats on a 2-point conversion (Faulk direct snap just like the one to White in SB 51, btw).

Final result: Pats win by 3

I can have up to three draft picks, but I have to drop players ahead of time. Who should I drop? I'm hesitant to drop Rawls, Kelley, or Dixon. missing key pieces on defense:
>Orr, Jernigan, Young
brought in:
>Jefferson, Humphrey, Bowser, Wormley
not taking into account due to the lack of impact:
>Dumervil
My concern:
With Young down they're on the same position as last year regarding CBs, lack of depth. However with a younger pass rush and Jefferson in the back the defense should be better.

missing pieces on offense:
>Pitta dead, no Center, backup tier LG and/or RT, no quality RBs, no safe hands and no FB
brought in:
>Siragusa, Eluemunor, Woodhead, Maclin
my thoughts/concerns:
They don't have a dedicated Center, keep in mind that Urschel is even worse than Zuttah (last year). Best shot is undrafted Skura. Alex Lewis could be the answer for LT, but chances are he will play RG unless any of the rookies steps up. Wallace, Maclin and Perriman are nice speedy options, but aren't really reliable, or at least as reliable as Smith Sr or Pitta. Woodhead should provide an escape valve option, at least. And for those who say FB aren't worth a damn, they have been important pieces on the Ravens playbook.

I want to be surprised by this offense, but I don't think they can step up from last year. Even less with Mornhinweg.

CAP THIS POST

Jaguars will coast to 8-8 at a minimum this year.

Week 1 @ Houston W(1-0)
The jags start off with one of the most important games of their season. I'm expecting their improved defense to be able to force their will on the Houston offense more than the Houston D can on bortles and company.

Week 2 vs titans L (1-1)
This will be a test for jacksonvilles defense I am calling his a toss up game until a have grasp on what the titans will be this season.

Week 3 in London vs Ravens W(2-1)
Ravens are on the decline. Jags get revenge after a close loss last season. I expect them to win this game. great betting opportunity.

Week 4 @ jets W(3-1)

Week 5 @ Steelers L(3-2)
I think this game will be much closer than expected but I'm giving the stoolers the win.

Week 6 vs Rams W (4-2)
Jared goff doesn't improve much this year but a fun game to watch with gurly/fournette.

Week 7 @ colts W(5-2)
If Andrew luck isn't already again he might be this game. Jags corners match up well and they should be able to run the ball on the colts like everyone else. 5-2 going into the bye

Week 8 BYE

WEEK 9 vs the bengals W (6-2)
Another hard but winnable game it will be interesting to see what they bengals have done to this point but after a step back last year I dont think they regain their form.

Week 10 vs chargers W (7-2)
I think the jaguars have a much better defense in this matchup and a wash between skill players. Definitely give the qb edge to Rivers but they are traveling cross country. Jags roll

Week 11 @ browns (8-2)

Week 12 @ cardinals L (8-3)
Jags get taken down a peg after bortles has a 3int game.

Week 13 vs colts W (9-3)

Week 14 vs Seahawks L (9-4)

Jaguars run into an actual football team at home. Bortles throws more picks. Fournette has his worst game.

Week 15 vs Texans W (10-4)

If the jags do this well they should take care of the toxins at home.

Week 16 @ Sf W (11-4)

Week 17 @ Titans L (11-5)

I see the jags splitting with TN
>>
>>76537170
Maclin is very sure-handed, too. His drop % is about as good as Smitty, and he still should have a little more juice in his tank than the old man.

I like the Jags this year. 2 great offensive tackles with a high skill running back in Fournette and a powerhouse fullback. Defense is pretty damn solid too. Blake Bortles has no more excuses this year. I suspect Jaguars are going to be a top 6 team in rush attempts this year. Fournette is going to be getting 24+ carries a game. Their Identity is set. offensive line is getting bolstered up with what looks like a very powerful run game. Jaguars are my 8-8 and possibly dark horse for a wildcard.

They'll be better than last year. 4 of their games should be slam dunks (Jets, Rams, Browns, 49ers) and there are a bunch of games where they can get the W. Maybe 6-7 wins.

But I don't buy all this chatter of at least 8-8 and potential dark horse when they don't have a pass rush, they only have one good LB, the interior of their OL is still shit, Cam Robinson and Fournette are rookies, their kicker is one of the worst in the NFL... and their QB is still Blake Bortles, and the idea of taking a (bad) gunslinger and trying to mold him into the next Alex Smith is laughable.

Valid argument. This can be why Bortles/Fournette struggle. Linder is good tho.
>Robinson and Fournette are rookies
Valid argument. I trust GMDC but if Robinson is a flop this can collapse.
>kicker one of the worst
Lol what? What kicker nails a 58 yarder in their 2nd career game? He was inconsistent in his rookie year but polished up a bit sophomore year. Myers is serviceable.
>>
>>76537766
It's hard not to consider him and Coughlin GOAT killers already.
>>
>>76537638
I am predicting them splitting and by that alone they're more likely to win their home game in week 2, but starting off their first 4 game season seemed like a lot. I have a lot of question about the Titans passing attack this season and Mariota coming back from injury. I think the fundamental essence of the post was that the jags a have fairly soft schedule(browns, jets, rams, 49ers) and they could got 11-5 even if they drop both to the Titans.

Poz is good against the run but is too slow and a liability in coverage.

I somehow forgot they got Campbell. Should've said no good edge players. Ngakoue was okay for a rookie 3rd rounder or whatever but he must upgrade his level if he wants to be a decent starter and Fowler was really disappointing. I didn't see anything that made me think he'll live up to the expectations.
>kicker
He was under 80% last season. That's really not good.

Anyway the biggest problem is still Bortles.

Most of Myers misses were blocks.
I'll admit Poz is not very good in coverage, especially TE's, that's why we want Jack to replace him longterm.
Fowler is like a Clowney clone, suffered complete ACL tear all while transitioning to the NFL, can't write him off yet.

So where exactly is this first female football player?
>>
>>76539871
The thing is, women are always kickers or punters. Theyre never in other positions, just those two. See, if women were open to being exposed to the rigorous abuse the human body receives from football, and being able to heal from that abuse, itd be a different story. One of the hardest aspects of competitive sports is being able to not only handle the injuries the physicial abuse of the sport gives out but how well you recuperate from the injury. Physically high demand positions like runningback and receiver get hit a lot so you gotta be able to handle a beating if you want those touchdowns. Women dont stick around after the first few hits sadly.

Even if a woman makes it into the NFL, i wont be entirely impressed until its a high demand position. A woman could easily fill the slot receiver (small, quick, good hands) or receiving back positions. Its all about how much abuse youre willing to let your body take, you will heal. But will you get back on the horse after it bucks you off? Women often dont sadly

You're right an autist making wild claims from one picture is much more reliable than the media outlets who actually watch him play and run routes everyday. Not to mention the coaching staff that would need to sign off on any any weight gain and the strength and conditioning coaches who have worked with him all off-season.

Coop is probably sitting at ~220 in that pic. if you think that's too heavy for a WR than you're an idiot, but we've already established that with your earlier claims like:
>stomach sticks out farther than his chest

Thanks for giving me something to do though.
>>
>>76549852

yeah but he wasnt 31 and 14 months removed from the from the league after battling injuries all season in 2015. Lynch is using the Raiders not the other way around.
>>
>>76549932
Is Lynch just playing for the Raiders to keep his brand going?
>>
>>76549870
>autist making claims
Ad hom.
>the media outlets who actually watch him play and run routes everyday. Not to mention the coaching staff that would need to sign off on any any weight gain and the strength and conditioning coaches who have worked with him all off-season.
Appeal to authority.

This is pretty pathetic, honestly. If you think this >>76549128 is an ideal build for a WR then we can agree to disagree at this point, but at least cite receivers who had success playing at such a build/weight in the modern era. Right now you look like a child that can't substantiate his own opinion.
>>
>>76549932
time will tell. I mean he should only be seeing about 12-15 carries a game. It's not like they need him to be a bell cow. Just set the tone and pound the rock
>>
>>76549946

Raidshits took a old ass RB and paid him millions cause he was the "Hometown kid" you tell me.

>>76549952

Yeah but people actung lime this isnt a publicity stunt are delusional. If you think they brought Lynch to win games for the Raiders then i dont know what to tell you, they are leaving for Vegas soon.
>>
>>76549870
>>76549948
Also if Coop is at ~220 in that pic he's the same weight as Julio Jones and Mike Evans. Julio is 2 inches taller while Evans is 4 inches taller.

I looked and there isn't a single NFL WR with a build comparable to what Coop has right now. It's unprecedented in this era. If you think that's a good thing, go ahead, but at least tell me why you think it's the capacity to succeed instead of feeding me empty coachspeak and media bullshit.
>>
>>76549983
If you think Reggie would sign anyone just because and not because he would help the team win that would be stupid. Yes, he's a huge Oakland icon and the fans love him, but he was brought on to make the offense better. The Raiders are absolutely looking to win before they move. Do you think they're just gonna phone it in the next three seasons just because they're moving?

>>76550027
It's a good thing Cooper is an unprecedented WR. He's 1 of 9 WRs to reach 1000 yards in his 1st 2 seasons and has done nothing but succeed so far. So really the burden of proof is on you to show that he won't succeed. Which currently you're using 1 picture and a guessed weight to do. Not a very good argument.
>>
>>76549870
>>76550027
Dez is actually close but even he weighs noticeably less being taller.

And lastly, playing at sitting at ~220 would mean he's put on ~20lbs in a single offseason. That's ridiculous.

>>76550072
Ran a ~4.75 and was never a top 10 or even #1 receiver. If you think Coop is better emulating Boldin's build, I honestly think you need help.

While he was playing at 6'1 200lbs. I'm talking about the fact that he's put on 20lbs in a single offseason.
>>
>>76550114
you're right current roster has him listed at 211, which at 6'1 is a great weight. So I don't see the issue with his build

I think your giving Reggie too much credit. The Raiders are building to win right now but I think Lynch might have fleeced Oakland with their need for a RB. You dont pick up a call from a 30 year old recently injury prone RB unless its Lynch, whom still holds mystique as he retired on his terms. People are busy looking at his time with the Seahawks and thinking a year older and 14 months away from the game he will somehow make a sizable difference in your offense? Im just not seeing it. Time will tell and if Lynch can go beast mode once again then I will eat my words. But 30 year old power backs not named Jerome Bettis Im never sure about.
>>
>>76550220
Oh please tell me how you are qualified to know exactly what 6'1 211 looks like on any and all athletic frames. Also the image is part of the set of pictures from daily OTA practices here's a link:

So you think Reggie would intentionally do a poor job as a GM just for a popularity boost? I mean you're right, history is not on Lynch's side, but I still have faith and we'll see on game day. Also the Raiders need at RB was greatly overstated. Richard or Washington could have stepped up and been a better starter than Murray was last year.
>>
>>76550256
>Oh please tell me how you are qualified to know exactly what 6'1 211 looks like
M8 that's a linebacker/fullback build in that picture.

Look at his shoulders. Look at his neck. Look at his arms.

Show me a 6'1 211 WR with arms and shoulders like that, and with a neck like that. I can show you linebackers that look like that sitting at 6'1 230~.
>>
>>76550196
>>76550189

In all seriousness the NFL will not do that. It is disrespectful to Lombardi and the history of the league to rename the trophy. Belichick himself would probably find that detestable. I would be 100% on board with renaming the COTY award the Bill Belichick Coach of the Year award, though. And maybe the Tom Brady Super Bowl MVP award as well, but Brady would have to win the SBMVP 1 more time for that.
