This isn't exclusive to Kershaw but Kershaw is a peculiar example because he's so animated and the highest profile player at his postion. You don't see this emotion in baseball EVER

Kershaw worked bumgarner to a 13 pitch AB where he just lined to first but that AB was so impactful and stressful to bumgarner that he exploded with a tremendous FUUUUUCK while clenching his arms like in his chest like he'd just been hit with a bullet. Nobody screams in rage over a 13 pitch AB ending in an out but bumgarner in that moment understood he wasn't going to complete that game all because he couldn't retire the pitcher. I am enjoying the resurgence of CC Sabathia the most. I've always been a big fan, the guy is a warrior. It's cool to see him finally figure out how he can be an efficient late-career pitcher after losing the ability to over power hitters.

Even though the pitching staff is surprising us with how good they are, the signs were there:
-The Yankees made the move for Pineda because he always showed the potential to have a season like he's having now.
-Severino was highly touted for the last two years, but didn't do so well his first season.
-CC has always been a warrior, he was going to figure it out or die trying
-Montgomery has been a complete surprise, i had no idea who he was
