The Stern era was certainly rigged beyond belief, but honestly at this point I think it's not flat-out rigged but simply has some lingering effects of it because it was around for so long (such as "superstar calls" which is literally just another word for favoritism)
The problem now is that they're letting everyone do what they want, so players are all just agreeing to stack teams. Right now we have 7 of the top 25 players on 2 teams, but give it 5 years and 12 of the top 15 will be on 3
