And American sports are way better for your media, since they are more commercial-friendly, so you don't have much to worry about.

You will probably see more football in the US in the very near future already, but again, it will take a while until it overtakes handegg etc. in the US

Not as much as you would think. For starters: Cubans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans...we have no interest in soccer. We like baseball. The Mexicans are assimilating pretty quickly, it's pretty common for a Mexican kid to prefer football (real football, not soccer) or baseball/basketball over soccer. People who think that soccer is America's sport of the future are the same people who think Spanish is our language of the future.

Remember that soccer was the most popular sport for 20th century European immigrants. What happened? They assimilated and started playing American sports. Same thing is happening to the Mexicans.
