Well, when Graig Bridgio was first called up he was a catcher. He even got to catch games by THE Nolan Bryan (who played for the Astros for 9 years, despite popular belief that he was a career Ranger). I still remember when Beegio got his 3000th hit, which wasn't as impressive as when he became 2nd all-time in hit by pitches.

the original anon said "that's the entire purpose of off-speed" which is absolutely wrong. Especially in the clips linked, where both donaldson and encarnacion begin their stride perfectly, but end up swinging as if the ball was in the low 80s. Fulmer doesn't throw anything lower than 85 and to swing like they did was strange. When I asked why it was happening, the other anon got super triggered for some reason and implied off-speed is supposed to make batters late.

Just kidding.

Having sex is literally the most basic, desperate, tragic, hopelessly-void-of-meaning, outrageously obnoxious, troublesome, costly, and downright pointless cry for help that the universe has ever screamed. Wow, you were born as an objectively good looking, decent looking, or perhaps borderline acceptable member of your species. WOW! INCREDIBLE! You managed to procure a willing (which in evolutionary terms, willing translates roughly to "fucking desperate for at least a few reasons") mate and managed to somehow perform the act of intercourse with her! WOW! This his literally only been taking place for HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF FUCKING YEARS! WOW! Except guess what, you probably wore a condom... which means you failed at submitting yourself to an act which means absolutely nothing. The only thing left to do now is kill yourself.

Post your team's top prospect scouting report.

>Scouting Grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 40 | Run: 50 | Arm: 60 | Field: 65 | Overall: 60

>Crawford was the first true shortstop taken in the 2013 Draft, and the fifth high school position player selected. Tim Anderson, taken from the junior college ranks one pick after Crawford, beat him to the big leagues, but Crawford, even despite lackluster numbers, still has every chance to be an elite-level impact talent at the premium position.

>While reaching the highest level of the Minors at a very young age, Crawford has managed to keep his advanced approach at the plate, continuing to draw a ton of walks and keep his strikeout rate low. While he makes a ton of contact, his power hasn't really shown up yet, though there is still hope he will grow into 10-15 home run performer as he matures. Crawford also continues to display outstanding defensive skills at short. Even though he has just average speed, he has tremendous range, footwork and hands to go along with a plus arm.

>Crawford's numbers should be digested with the knowledge that he'll be just 22 for all of the 2017 season. At some point, he will need to produce, but there are no indicators to suggest he still can't be an All-Star caliber shortstop at the big league level.

Not sure if anyone is paying attention, but the Reds have the worst starting rotation...maybe ever.

There's like 15 starters or some crazy shit on the DL.
The guys who are starting nobody has ever heard of.
They pitch about 3 innings per game.
They get rocked while they're in there.
The Reds would literally be better off investing in a solid batters tee and releasing these scrubs.

Yet they're around .500 and near first place because they're actually pretty fucking good otherwise.

If they ever get a semblance of a starting rotation healthy, keep your eye on em.

Crawford's praise is in the fact that he has plate discipline beyond his years, is an elite defender (and has tremendous range despite average speed), and is still very young (5 years younger than the average AAA player), with a hit tool that's been nothing short of unlucky(.230 BABIP). He's still our best Prospect, and the only ones that come close are Moniak and Alfaro.

Hoskins is nice, but nothing really shows he's going to unseat ToJo. Quinn is really, really, fast, but he is only an average defender despite this speed(Think Ben Revere as a comparison) and I love Quinn. Cozens has his own problems. I'm glad you didn't fall into the 'Phillies Prospect hits dingers in Reading' Trap, because EVERYBODY hits Dingers in reading.

Numbers only matter so much in the minor leagues. Crawford has very little in common with Dom Brown(Toolsy athletic kid with a nonexistent baseball IQ) and Franco(Hyper aggressive hitter with good raw power).

Aside from football, Texas is pretty bandwagon overall as a sports state. Tough to admit it. I've also stuck by this team forever, 2009-13 might have been the hardest for me overall. Can't say I agree with that.

San Antonio has always been for the Spurs.
Houston has always been for the Rockets/Astros and complained non-stop about the Texans
Dallas has always been a Cowboys/Rangers/Mavs city

Texans, more often than not, love to be hard-liners for their team. Case in point, NCAA University of Texas and A&M.

Well deep down it's all about high school and college football. That's religion here. It's just not a baseball state deep down. There are lots of transplants in both Dallas and Houston as well. I remember even when the Astros were good in the 2000s Cubs and Cards fans would come in droves to Minute Maid and sometimes be louder than the home crowd. Having good teams helps, but when the team's down, no one except hardliners really discuss it. Agreed with basketball btw, but that's more of a 'Tonio thing than a Houston or Dallas thing although both got their niche fanbases apiece.

Truth be told, there were 3 100L seasons between 2011-2013 back-to-back. Those seasons were so embarrassingly bad, I wouldn't be surprised if any team's fan-base in baseball reacted the same way.

Only hardliners talking about it, all your typical casual fans not going to see games. People typically don't like to see their home teams get destroyed.

Respect for going to see the team during such tragic times. It'll be awesome if we make it to the World Series. Altuve debut in 2011 during the first of three 100L seasons and he has consistently been a really good player. To poke fun at these attempted trolls, I'd put him up there with Craig Biggio as far as spirit of the game.

A lot of people thought moving to the AL was a huge mistake, but so far I'm really enjoying it. Plus it's nice having another in-Texas rivalry.

There's a lot of parallels to the two. Altuve's power stroke is a little sweeter though. I see a lot of Joe Morgan in him instead of Bigs. That's a more apt comparison. My Pa got to see Little Joe in action. That was a hell of a great player.

Mariners. Was a top prospect in 2006. I remember him in a futures game where Kershaw and Votto both played.

BTW I love that disastro faggots think that this whole Chris Bugo meme is just Rangers fans. It's not. It's funny as fuck and you faggots can't handle the banter. This is worse than the psychological breakdown that Leaveland simp had after having no refute to the Indians not winning a WS in 87 years.

Too. Funny.

The Dodgers haven't won a pennant in 29 years.

Even the Astros have won one in my lifetime.

In the NL too, did you know they used to play in the National League?

how can the NL be better than the AL?
>>
>>76366460
Did you know Jim Leyland managed the pirates in the NL? My Stros' once upon a time played in the NL anchored by none other than HOF'er Chris Buggio. This was all in the old Astros Dome not the current park sponsored by minute-maid (a Coca-Cola company if you didn't know.)
>>
>>76366520
Yeah they had Billy Bonds and Andy Van Dyke
>>
Can someone make an astros version of this
