To be fair, Jupp had choked horribly in the previous season (achieving a neverkusen treble) and poop wanted to have his following year's job by halfway through the season.

spain enjoys the fact that an entire continet full of football fanatics are speaking spanish/portuguese. it is much easier for football stars from south america to move to spain. if the former british colonies cared about football then the premier league would literally win every single CL ever.

add to that the fact that the spanish government nurtured real madrid and barcelona with huge favors, and until recently foreign footballers could pay much less taxes.
the fact that FIFA wanted to make football more "attractive" also meant germany, england and italy had to entirely change the way they play, while the spanish could keep on with how they play. if referees allowed physical play like they did in the 80s or 90s or even early 00's then you wouldnt see this much of a spanish domination.
