Regardless of the strength of schedule it is extremely difficult to go 16-0 in regular season (the pats are the only one to do it since the regular season has went from 14 games to 16) let alone proceed to make it to the super bowl. Only one other team has done it, the Miami Dolphins, who went 14-0 in the regular season then won the super bowl (which you have to sweep the playoffs to do as its 1-game playoffs, so 17-0).

As for the choke, the Giants were just a meme team who got in the lowest seed for the playoffs and were led by a meme autistic quarterback, the fact that the pats lost to them at all was a massive embaressment, the icing on the cake was that it ended the possibility of going 19-0, a perfect season.
