I said it once and I'll say it again. If Ben Smith wasn't on retirement watch Jordie would be our starter over him.

The canes has quite a lot of young talent just like last year, a bit of a shame they couldn't just luck their way into the top seed again. I guess teams actually looked at them as a threat this year.

Stop with the seething damage control. Our collection of accountants, builders, plumbers and teachers were beat by a better team. they have to live with this massive loss and we should turn to actually supporting them in these trying times. No need to justify why they lost just support our boys.
>>
>>76302109
Gatland has said that every player will get a run on in the first 3 games. So you if you can name the next games team you can name the team after that assuming everything goes to plan.

Exactly why we need to drop the damage control. These guys have 5 whole days together and couldn't topple a NH team. That by every definition is a massive failure for NZ rugby. I don't look forward to the rest of this test I think it's going to surprise a other of kiwis and is hopefully the wake up call we need.

I figure that we (SANZAAR) would have to float them cash wise (at the beginning at least) but it's for the good of rugby. Also turn out for a team of their own would surely be bigger than Blues v Reds (it would have been an empty stadium for either of those teams at home anyway). If they shift half their home games to Hamilton or Auckland they would get an alright turn out of supporters and then tour their home islands for the other half.

what the fuck?
>>
>>76348543
Don't watch it or be involved with the natural progression then lad. To go back from here would be to NZ rugby's detriment.
You probably don't even remember when it was.
>>
>>76348579
yeah that would be a lot better, but SANZAAR as a whole is pretty poor so I'm taking it witha a grain of salt
>>
>>76348579
The trouble is there should be no need for the aru to do that. Australia shouldn't have to give up a team because world rugby wants to nurture Japanese rugby in circumstances where Japan already has a very profitable league of its own.

There's no sense putting the needs of some third party ahead of the core of SH rugby. They need to sanction saru until they pull their fucking head in, and start fixing some matches in Australia's favour until SH rugby is strong again.
>>
>>76348608
no, but they cant support 5 teams, they dont have the lower level support and now with yurop taking island players there arent enough to bolster their numbers.
The japan team makes sense to me because commerically speaking its not a detriment for the competition, and has a lot of potential as japan becomes more experienced and involved at a high level
>>
>>76348608
Why shouldn't we have Japan over an Aussie team or 2? Both are non event free bonus points for all NZ teams. It literally doesn't matter from our point of view as the keystone of not only SH rugby but world rugby.
Maybe making Aussie drop a team will make them realise they have fallen off the SH powerhouse bandwagon and need to make some drastic changes to their methods to continue forwards. Obviously thrashing your shit teams over and over again hasn't gotten the message across
>>
I hope you're all watching Grand Designs and learning about the dangers of RF radiation.

Where do they live that they even need to consider that into their design? The average person doesn't live or work anywhere that RF radiation is a concern at all

>>76348881
Not really, people don't tie Australian wine to regions as closely as they do with nz wine. An Aussie might be cognisant of the difference between regions, but the export market generally just thinks of it as Australian wine, which has a strong marketplace presence.
>>
>>76348909

Anyone with more than basic wine knowledge would know the Barossa, McLaren Vale, Hunter, Yarra, and Margaret regions
>>
>>76349014
I think you vastly overestimate the average punter.

Yeah but they can't necessarily tell you anything about the wines produced in those reasons. The wines people know from nz are Marlborough sav and central Otago Pinot.

The fact that people like Marlborough sav blanc is a mystery to me.

Its fucking garbage yet people love it.

It's because people are basic as fuck. They're the sort of people who still ask "is that a dry resiling" because the only resolving they had when they were growing up in their nuclear fallout shelter in the 70s was some approximation of a Riesling made by wolf blass or mud flats or something. Those people have somehow managed to limp through life asking for "dry white wine" and the fact that the first time they did that they got given sav, more than likely because it was the cheapest thing on the menu, has transformed them into thinking that they are "sav drinkers" because shit, they've already got wine figured out. These are the people that put out cubes of coon cheese as an honest to god après-ski. Jesus just fucking have a cigarette before dinner like the rest of us.

Chardonnay shits all over savvy and pinot gris lad, and that is a truthie right there.

The only reason that people hate on chardonnay is that the british press (seeing a theme with them?) handled a coordinated attack on NZ chardonnay as it was in literally every wine bar and restaurant in London, and there was a lot of cheap shit being pushed as "quality" product, so people moved away from it.

I prefer red in general over white wines however if I'm going to someone's place I will take a decent white because more people seem to like them. Champers is #1 though it's not often you can bust a bottle out.

I can't say I have had many fortified wines other than the odd occasion. Growing up it only dunk over the Christmas period as the evenings were winding down. But since I have been drinking it has been more whiskey's.

I'm not him but I like myself a good craft beer. It pisses me off when people say they don't like craft beer and when you ask them why they describe the taste of an IPA, just don't drink an IPA then you retard, pick a beer you like.

But the absolute worst is when someone says they don't like craft beer and then say they like a watery Speights. Just say you don't like beer, no one will judge you these days for it.

Because you seem interested in NZ squads. Here is what the masterminds at stuff came up with

>Possible All Blacks squad: Owen Franks, Joe Moody, Wyatt Crockett, Charlie Faumuina, Ofa Tu'ungafasi, Dane Coles/Liam Coltman, Codie Taylor, Nathan Harris, Sam Whitelock, Brodie Retallick, Scott Barrett, Patrick Tuipulotu/Luke Romano, Kieran Read, Jerome Kaino, Liam Squire, Sam Cane, Ardie Savea, Steven Luatua/Brad Shields, Aaron Smith, TJ Perenara, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Beauden Barrett, Aaron Cruden, Lima Sopoaga, Ryan Crotty/Malakai Fekitoa, Sonny Bill Williams, Anton Lienert-Brown, Rieko Ioane/George Moala, Ben Smith, Israel Dagg, Julian Savea, Waisake Naholo, Jordie Barrett

They added that Coles will miss the first test and the same for Kaino. The players with a slash between them are the toss up players.

So Dagg to fullback but whos on wings then? Dual coconuts dont work and fitness of NMS is questionable

> capping memekenzie over Lowe last year
>>
>>76349895
He is nothing special and seems to be over rated a lot. He has improved a lot the last couple of years but not enough in my book to be the "sure thing" like so many people think.

If it wasn't I Lions tour where we want "proven" players this June I wouldn't expect to see him in the side.
>>
>>76349854
Crotty is a quality player, he was your most important back last year apart from maybe Beauden.
>>
>>76349919
The only decent eligible non-coconut wing I can think of is George Bridge, but he's probably way too inexperienced
>>
>>76349953
Other options are leave Dagg on the wing and shift Barrett to full back with Cruden/Soap at 10.

Or take the Mckenzie pill and start him at fullback
>>
>>76349986
>Or take the Mckenzie pill and start him at fullback
I would sooner put a FSP there
>>
>>76349941
He is legitimately nothing special and doesn't half fill Ma'a or Conrad's boots. There are more players that are more promising that can do the job about the same as him.
>>76349986
The obvious option is best Barrett to fullback, Dagg to the wing and a coconut to the other. But we have also played those 2 coconuts with a shift in position to something similar to what you said when subs start and that worked fine as well.
Mckenzie won't be in the squad, he doesn't do a single thing best Barrett can't do and best Barrett offers a whole lot more.
>>
Take the McKenzie pill and start him at 10
>>
What about a ALB + Aso combo. Aso can also cover wing very well in a not so coconut for a coconut style if we need it.
>>
>>76350017
So for the first test-
9. TJ
10. B Barrett
11. Fatvea
12. Laumape/$unni Bill
13. ALB
14. Dagg
15. J Barrett
>>
>>76350048
>jordie pissrat
flashy meme with terrible defence
>>
It will be Fatvea and Naholo on the wings with Jordie as bench cover
>>
>>76350078
Alternatively Pooden with B Barrett at 15
>>
>>76350048
Very agreeable starting side. I think I would prefer Dagg at fullback and Naholo on the wing with Jordie and Soap on the bench if needed. That way we can put B Barrett to the wing if we really need the experience at fullback with a 15 min to the end sub for Dagg to give Jordie some time if we are confident. Or we can send Dagg to the wing and Jordie to fullback and sub Soap on for a bit.

It let us cover wherever the focus from the lions is best.

>>76350078
You spelt Mckenzie wrong lad

>>76350103
Jordie is unironically the next Smith. He can do everything Smith did at the same point in his career plus he has size. Of they were the same age Smith would be out.

Mckenzie on the other hand is going overseas once his contract runs out because he has exposed himself too much and knows he will never make it in a black jersey ever again.
>>
>>76350117
the only winger close to prime Smith on attack is NMS
>>
>>76350117
if mckenzie got his kicking % up and was generally more consistent with feeding he would have good oppurtunities here
>>76350126
basically this
>>
>>76348139
>demolished them in set play
>couldn't score a try from three attempts at a 5-metre scrum from in front of the goalposts.

>>
>>76350126
But Ben is past prime now and Jordie hasn't reached his, after the next world cup when Jordie is there you will realise Jordie can do what Ben can and did (most likely anyway, I can't see the future I can just see the wheelbarrow loads of talent he has).

Mckenzie won't start ahead of Barrett or Soap now or in the future so I don't really see a spot for him in a 10 jersey. And the younger 10's and reserves show a fair amount of talent so I can't see him starting over whoever they decide to groom next.
