Lock is the easiest position to be okay at but one of the hardest to actually be good at. Being a lock is about being good at meat and potatoes rugby, you'll do lots of carrying into defenders, tackling in close and clearing out rucks. Focus on that to start with. As you develop you should start looking at imposing yourself on the game more, mainly forcing turnovers by stripping the ball/choke tackling or simply pilfering at the ruck.
