I've got a beef with baseball pre integration because of that also, I've had this rant before sorry if you've read it already.
Fucking almost all the best hitters back then were lefties, what's up with that shit. I get that baseball as a sport is biased to lefties, many sports are actually, much higher proportion of lefty ballplayers than lefties in the population, but back then it was way too biased, ridiculously so, had to be the ballparks or something, even in baseball only about a third of hitters are lefties even back then, so it makes no sense that almost all the greatest hitters were lefties, game was way too biased for them somehow. Looking at 1950-present on fangraphs, after Bonds the next best lefty hitter is Thome at like 15th, makes a lot more sense.
