I actually really like NASCAR and I really like WoO but I don't get the desire to do it with bikes. Maybe I need to watch more or maybe this is just what you do when you can only set up a small track. idk. But this strikes me as way more likely to cause serious injury then just using a cart or car or truck on the same track. For better or worse I guess.

It is a team sport, individual drivers are in teams and score points both for themselves and for the club when they race in each heat. 1st place 3 points, 2nd 2, 3rd 1 and 4th 0.
At the end of the day guy with most points wins individual competition and team with more points across all their racers wins team competition.

Guys pretending that racing an oval doesn't require skills generally don't know about what ovals are all about. Ovals were designed mainly to create a layout where regularity is key to win. WHile regularity is also key on other kind of tracks, it is even more the case with ovals since they only have 2-4 corners.

Guys racing on ovals are usually separated by a few thousandth of a second while "road racers" are generally separated by a couple tenth of a second if not entire seconds.
