The Superdome in New Orleans. Both of these pics are looking South-ish, towards the Mississippi River. The smaller arena next to the Superdome is the Smoothie King Arena, where the Pelicans play. Obviously that's the CBD behind the Dome, just beyond it (to the east) is the French Quarter, just a few blocks walk from the Dome.

The renovations to Lambeau Field have been great and are the golden standard for updating a historic venue. But I do sometimes miss the old stadium. It was obnoxiously green in a classy kind of way. I remember driving by it as a kid and being wowed at how colorful it was. And it was very simple, too. Just a giant bowl in the ground. The only other stadium that comes to mind with a similar structure is Michigan's Big House, which I too have a deep respect for.

Thankfully the rest of Green Bay remains unchanged to this day. The dense forest in the upper left hand corner of the screen is just miles of flat, working class suburbs. Factory workers trying to make an honest living. A society that moves at a slower pace.

I saw one game at the Old Lambeau in 1999 when I was very young but it was a whole lot of fun. There was no heated atrium, there were no suites or executive seats, just benches throughout the stadium.
