There are Arsenal fans and there are Arsenal ''''fans''''. Arsenal fans don't care as they'll support the club regardless. Arsenal ''''fans''''' think that changing the manager every season will result in them winning the Sextuple.

Cuadrado got the assist cause he fucking ran like a champ. Got nothing to do with his shit tier fucking pass. Who makes this shit? Messi's was a fluke. Beckhams was good. Mahrez's pass was all down to the finish. Why was Gaitan's there? Berbatov's was great. Martial's was down to his skill, not his pass. Boer's was great, but again, Berkamp was the reason he got an assist. So many of these passes are shite and are down to their runs or the striker being good. Guti's was pretty good. I miss Guti. Ozil's was improvised but it was all based on whoever was running for the goal. I dunno why.

This video is shit.

Really any of the bottom 6 could go down but I reckon Burnley will suffer second season syndrome, I'm now bored of Swansea and Huddersfield will go down on the final day. Watford will get 40 points around matchday 30 and then stop trying and almost get relegated like they always do.

haha, fuck off. Swansea City (The Seaswans) are one of the most unique, exciting teams to have ever played in the Premier League. Founded in 1871 in the Royal County of Swansea we are one of the oldest clubs in the entire world and every year has been a roller coaster ride, a roller coaster fun enough to be suitable for Snowdon in Snowdon national park, another Welsh town.

Swansea, in their short stays in the Premier League, have introduced the following memorable superstar players to the fans of the division

>Angle Rangle
>Neil Taylor
>Liam Britain
>Gylfi SiGunnarson
>Jonjo Shelvey
>David Kitson
>Michu

This is just a few of the pieces of gum that Swansea have given the fans to chew on in their short stays in the division. Exciting and memorable players. We have also had several exciting matches. For example

>Swansea 1 West Ham United 1

These are just some examples of the thrilling matches that Swansea have been involved in. Indeed, whenever Swansea are in the Premier League it has been estimated that violent crime in Bangor is down by 5% due to the people coming off the streets to watch SWANSEA. And the fun doesn't end there. We are managed by Paul Clement, the former Derby City manager. Former Derby City managers always make for exciting times when placed into management positions and I have no doubt Paul will be no different. In fact we Swansea fans have a chant for him 'Chinese Clementines Dirty Knees Boobies' which is done to mock opposing players who are either from China (Chinese), Divers (dirty knees) or fat (boobies). We are very exciting so fuck off.

haha, fuck off. Huddersfield Town (The Hudders) are one of the most unique, exciting teams to have never played in the Premier League. Founded in 1908 in the Royal County of Huddersfield we are one of the oldest clubs in the entire West Yorkshire and every year has been a roller coaster ride, a roller coaster fun enough to be suitable for Dewsbury in Dewsbury county park, another Kirklees town.

Swansea, in their short stays in the Premier League, have introduced the following memorable superstar players to the fans of the division

>Malcolm Brown
>Ramon Wilson
>David Wagner
>George Brown
>William Smith
>Andy Booth
>Frank Worthington

This is just a few of the pieces of gum that Huddersfield Town have given the fans to chew on in their nonexistent stays in the division. Exciting and memorable players. We have also had several exciting matches. For example

>Huddersfield Town 0 - 0 Reading
>Huddersfield Town 0 - 0 Sheffield Wednesday
>Huddersfield Town 0 - 0 Manchester City

These are just some examples of the thrilling matches that Huddersfield Town have been involved in. Indeed, whenever Huddersfield Town are in the Premier League it has been estimated that violent crime in West Yorkshire is down by 100% due to the fact that they have never been in the Premier League, as well as people coming off the streets to watch HUDDERSFIELD TOWN. And the fun doesn't end there. We are managed by David Wagner, the former Borussia Dortmund II manager. Former Borussia Dortmund II managers always make for exciting times when placed into management positions and I have no doubt David will be no different. In fact we Huddersfield Town fans have a chant for him 'Übersetzen Sie das nicht in Google' which is done to mock opposing players who are either from England (English), inbreds (all of the Midlands) or fat (Wayne Shaw). We are very exciting so fuck off.

>>

I suspect Chelsea, City and United will do well because they'll spend big. The problem will be Spurs, Liverpool and Arse. So it's down to those three to fight for Top 4. Unless Arsenal keep Ozil and Sanchez and sign top top top top tier players, then they'll drop further. Wenger or no Wenger. Arsenal cannot compete with teams who spend more on players every 2 seasons than they have since the PL began.

Did you know Arsenal have spent, since PL began, £650m on players? While Spurs have spent £750m? Don't bother memeing about net spend either, which people ultimately turn too when they have no arguments.

Manchester City :£1,214,830,000
Chelsea :£1,252,199,000
Manchester United: £1,011,950,000
Liverpool: £917,805,000
Tottenham: £727,500,00
Arsenal: £639,505,000

Those are the major clubs total spend. How are Arsenal suppose to keep when people claim Spurs aren't able to?

Let alone other teams. This isn't me concentrating on Arse, it's just you missed them out. City, United and Chelsea can and will outspend everybody to win. Chelsea literally buy players to avoid other teams getting them. Batiushi should have gone to Spurs, United or Arsenal, they could all have all benefited massively from them. But no, Chelsea bought him and barely played him, just so rivals couldn't get him. It won them the Title doing so. How are any teams meant to compete?

Answer: They don't.

So this season is a fight between United, City and Chelsea for the Title. Liverpool, Spurs and Arse fight for Top 4. Spurs are doing well due to Kane; which I suspect means he'll be snapped up by Madrid or Barca. Spurs won't sell him for less than £50m to them and I suspect if Chelsea, United or City want him, it'll be £80m+ easy. Remove Kane from Spurs or Sanchez from Arsenal and they'll struggle. Liverpool; I have no idea how they managed it. Coutinho and Mane I guess.
>>
aren't Chelsea over-dependent on Costa at the moment?

obviously if they get Lukaku that changes, but I'm not sure that's happening.

Seems like they're pretty vulnerable next year. Tottenham actually seem to have a more balanced offense despite Kane.

City could lose Agüero and be fine at this point.
>>
>>76213449
It's not money or the squad quality that stops Arsenal competing, it's their mentality and dropping focus.

Since the 0-3 at Palace they've won 9 out of 10 games, Chelsea, City and United included. Clearly good enough just not consistent.
>>
>>76213152

Shit bruh, calm down. I didn't even say that the tories were right wing. I said they believed in a meritocracy, which would be fine if everyone was given an equal shot based on their own individual capacity to succeed without being constrained by their societal background. But they're not.

Also I doubt you've met normal people that much because if you had you'd want them to have less of a say because how of poorly prepared for the world they are after our education system.

Which team do you support senpai?
>>
>>76213595
They did? I kinda stopped following them until few days ago. I stopped after their WBA loss. I knew they'd not make Top 4 as soon as Carzola got injured. Maybe you're right, but how to fix that? They obviously aren't good enough or they'd be Top 4. Furthermore, they get creamed in the CL.

They need better everything desu. Sanchez, Ozil and Bellerin are probably the only players on that team you'd see top top teams interested in. Bellerin cause he's a fast attacking RB, something Barca would love dearly, or Madrid to do a Bale style conversion with.. Sanchez and Ozil obviously. But who else? Mustafi?

Yet look at City, Chelsea or United. They have way more on offer. United maybe not, but CIty and Chelsea do.

Either way, you think Kane will be sold this summer? I've not seen any bullshit headlines yet.
>>
>>76213449
how is net spend irrelevant? it reflects outgoing quality
>>
>>76213739
>being a selling club is good
Because it's a shit meme. Because Spurs got £80m for Bale, it pushes them way down in terms of the level, despite spending way more than other clubs. By your logic, Swansea are one of the best clubs ever because they have the best Net Spend. In my eyes, it's a negative

>But somebody for £50m
>He sucks
>Sell him for £35m
>Well that's only a £15m net spend :^) so who cares we invest stupid amounts into players then move them on when they don't work

Like Liverpool have done.

I reckon this is enough for a top 3 next year. Lot of younglings with bright potential. Give it some time and we might actually see something other than juvewinslol.
>>
>>76213726
Can't see it. Firstly Spurs cannot afford to lose him when they're finally on the up, secondly I don't see Madrid or any other top European club being THAT interested in him. Excellent player in their system, not so much out of it as we see for England. Bale on the other hand was much faster, more creative and capable of making an impact by himself in any team.
>>
>>76213897
Hmm. Would any PL team be interested in him? United? City? The latter I'm sure wouldn't mind a Home Grown youngish striker for Aguero to rotate with.

>>76213892

>How are Arsenal suppose to keep when people claim Spurs aren't able to?
Spurs are able to keep because they are a selling club. They've wasted most of the money they've spent but have found maybe 3 gems to pay for their ignorance. (Bale, Modric, Berbatov?
>>
>>76214077

5 years on and they still haven't replaced van persie. strange since wenger always had a tall, fast and clinical centre forward before. however good giroud and welbeck are at holding the ball up, i'm sure they could actually challenge for the league with a proper striker alongside sanchez

Goal Keeper is sorted with long term projects like that Italian bloke and that 'wonder keeper' they signed. Cech and Ospenis will keep them going. Attackers are the obvious main problem. Perez was OK until he got injured but he needs to be sold. Welbeck needs to play like he did in the final constantly, but I doubt he will.

As for Left Wing? Gaitan? Vitolio (whatever that guys name is from PSG or whereever)? Anderson (Lazio?) Martial? That guy from A. Bilbao? Draxler?

Constant injuries at Arsenal and competing with Chamberlain/Walcott was never going to get him first team football and developing properly. He looked really good even at 18 but best for him that he left really.
>>
>>76215195
They better have a buy-back clause desu. I mean I know why they didn't. Walcott was on right, Sanchez on left. What happened to Walcott, injury? Again the FA Cup Final made you think 'none of these players are worth getting rid of' because they played so well. Fucking mind bending that Oxlade can do that in some games but is shit the next.
>>
>>76215242
Ox doesn't get the credit he deserves, not a pacebabby since some of his best games have been in central midfield and easily one of the most talented players in the squad.

They might even challenge for a mini-treble next year. But they won't. It's like saying if City play with all their players on top form they'll win everything. It's true, but it won't happen.

As for the big name Wonga buys, I dunno desu. There is no big name out there who'd join. I say he should go for Snjieder and Ribery. They're old and they're able to fill a gap. Though Snjider will prob be the closest to getting cause >Turkey

Yes? Dein had a good relationship with Wenger and always provided what Wenger needed. The club then said "Make do" and gave Wenger peanuts and made them sell their top players. Then expected Wonga to win shit when it was paid off. They got lucky and did. The board want a scapegoat for non PL Title so they use Wenger and the media believes it instead saying shit like "Wenger could spend City/Chelsea/United/Pool tier sums every season but he doesn't cause old dinosaur". Do you see Kroeke or whatever his name is going "here is £300m Wenger, enjoy!" every season? No he buys buisnesses around the world and lets Wenger scape Top 4. Well it didn't happen this year. So watch Wenger go and the next guy to be treated the same.

>>
>>76216717
You do realise that the two owners with major shares are both billionaires in their own right, right? They could have paid it off without forcing Wonga to sell his best talent. iirc not a single season between that period did Wonga spend more than he sold.
>>

>but then there would have to be brackets too

Why? Lists can still be a simple equation without an expression
>>
>>76216739
You do realise that the strategy could have been always to remain self-sufficient and then the reason Wenger got less was not because no David Dein but because there was less available? You can follow that, can't you? You can see that even with David Dein there, the strategy being the same, there would have been less for Wenger? You do see that, right?

Bollocks was there less available. The board members were either millionaires or billionaires or people with connections. There is no way they couldn't provide £50m a season if he didn't need it. HELL there was no reason for them to force him to sell his best players either. But they did to pay back quicker. He was lucky he scraped Top 4 or they'd have lost that £30m odd.

>>76216861
Don't reply to shitposters either. If you read the fucking comment chain, nowhere did I say I was a fan. Only that they went to shit after Dien left. This is a objective fact. I never said we were entitled but this is the situation.

There are two billionaires at the club. They not only didn't provide funds to match Chelsea or City, but they forced a man to sell his best players, even though they were worth more, just to get some form of cash to pay the stadium costs back.

But let's just say you're right (you're not) surely they'd get the money when the stadium was finished, then? LOL. Nope. While City, Chelsea, United and Liverpool are spending hundreds of millions, Arsenal limit was a fan subduing panic buy of Ozil (when Fabregas was on offer) and then a Liverpool stumping Sanchez buy. The former was invisible and the latter was a good buy. Yet that was it. Last season was the FIRST time they ever spent over £100m in a window. In fact, it was one of only 3 times they spent over £50m. While City splurged £50m on Stones.

You can justify it all you want, but this is a fact. Two billionaires giving scraps to a football club while they go out and buy $1,000,000,000 farms is a bit of a fucking joke. >m-m-uh self-sufficiency. Doing them well a good, innit? They've dropped down to 5th because they can match the spending of rivals.

>>76216855

>buys club
>doesn't reduce price of tickets, but increases it
>doesn't increase spending, but reduces it
>doesn't even improve infrastructure apart from a stadium which was already agreed
>doesn't give a shit about the club as long as Wenger keeps the stadium full and the ChampLeag money coming in

The two main owners don't give a shit lad. Chelsea and City have owners who do care. Liverpool have more caring owners. Fucking United is running in massive debt but they still manage to fork out £90m for a single player on top of everybody else, don't they? Fucking Arsenal haven't even spent £1bn in 21 years, let alone in 10.
>>
>£100 renewal
>£199 new members
Why aren't you buying a Huddersfield season ticket, /trans/?
>>
>>76216920
>Two billionaires
Technically only Kroenke.

Usmanov can't invest anything without forcing other shareholders to match it according to their ownership %, which they obviously refuse to do.
>>
>>76216965
I thought board members, any board member, could make a 'donation' to the club. They'd have no say in how it's spent, but essentially they give X million to the clubs balance and it can be used. Obviously that'd be tantamount to giving Kroenke X million as he could withdraw it, but if it became public there would be outcry and calls for it to be returned or some shit.
>>
>>76216979
Since Arsenal are parented by a "publicly traded" holdings company, any kind of donation would be illegal as inflating the value. Usmanov would have happily spent money otherwise, offering twice the club's purchase value to take it over shows his willingness.

Pathetic desu lads.

>>76217129
I think it's utter bollocks. There is no GK on the planet worth more than Buffon went for. A 22(?) year old isn't worth £34m+. If we apply inflation, Buffon would be like £50m in today's money. So if you wanna look it that way, he won't break it. But nobody is. I can't think of any GK's in recent memory who would come close. Khan? Van Der Saar? Dida? Seaman? Cech (prime)? Reina?

If you want to talk about the content of threads and off-topic, please go to >>>/qa/. That is the place to do so, not /sp/. Thank you. This is a board to discuss Sport, not meta content.

>>76217157
Not seen anybody say >de gay for awhile desu. Maybe I'm blind. But yeah, he might go for £35m. I suspect he'll be used, if ever, as a swap value player. But he won't go this season, two cups and CL football. Had United failed in that, I think he'd have gone. He might still go and see out his contract.
>>
So which young supple EPL star will make the jump to the MLS? I am putting all my Freedom Dollars on Daniel Sturridge
>>
>>76217178
I guess, but it's one of the cases where he'd be vastly inflated just to get him to move anyway. Buffon was a time before extreme moneyball. It's a bit like Andy Carroll, vastly inflated for reasons. Neuer would be too. Any club who could afford him and he'd go to are rivals. Barca has No.2 German GK. Madrid has Navas. United have De Gay. So that leaves City and Chelsea. I say the price isn't enough to justify replacing Kertwohe. So City is the likely option. So £60m I suspect.

>>76217200
When, right now? Defoe might, again.
>>
>>76217187

>Tries some smart arse comment thinking he has won
>Nobody is discussing the board structure of Arsenal anymore in a thread about football transfers

Ah yes, but you definitely won this argument m8
>>
>>76216920
>Bollocks was there less available. The board members were either millionaires or billionaires or people with connections.
Just ignores my argument and go on to reassert what was said before. Yes, they are billionaires but the plan was to be self-sufficient=less money available. And, again, you're not entitled to their money.

>The two main owners don't give a shit lad. Chelsea and City have owners who do care
Waah, you have to lose money on your purchase of our club! How about you give me £1000? That way you can lose money too!

>>76216899
>it's their money though
Whose money?

Arsenal fans are fucking babies. Boo-hoo! I want more money spent on our players so you have to give it to me. Just like a child will see something they like in a shop so they will try to take it, with no concept of this is mine and this is yours. Faggots.
>>
>>76209563
>Maths at uni, too

The applied stuff got so boring, though. Especially O/PDE and numerical analysis/methods. I almost regret focusing on applied
>>
>>76217308
you'd be pissed off spending over a grand every year to finish 4th and watch the club sell your best players to rivals too. see literally handing the title to united by selling the best striker in the league at the time
>>
>>76217308
What? Not only are you ignoring that 1. I'm not an Arsenal fan but 2. You're ignoring conversation trees. Furthermore, you seem to have a fucking obsession with Arsenal fans. What do you mean 'self-sufficient'? That's not the fucking point you muppet. During the period of the stadium, there was next to ZERO investment in the playing squad and in fact there was a NEGATIVE situation where their best players were sold. They do not care about the club as anything other than something in their portfolio. No club, no matter how big, wants their owner to be using it as a fucking business asset. Every club requires investment of some sort, but Arsenal got nothing.

>b-b-ut self-sufficient

And? It wasn't self-sufficient before then? Again your argument collapses RIGHT AWAY by the fact the money didn't become available after the club had been paid; exactly where was the need for 'self-sufficiency' there? More success = bigger contracts = more money. But this hasn't happened. You keep falling back on self-sufficiency which is a fucking meme in itself; as it's irrelevant if the other main contenders don't give a fuck about this. But what's this? United were the first club in the world to make £1bn in a year? And HOW much do they manage to spend a year despite being in debt? Looks like the meme on self-sufficiency has been truly defeated here.

I'm honestly thinking you're just shitposting here. You're literally going "A club shouldn't spend money on trying to improve it's players, it should only care about being self-sufficient, even when they achieve this the goal remains the same!". Okay, Arsenal have the stadium now, they're making record profits (for them). Where is the player investment?

>>76217366
This isn't about Arsenal. It's about owners who don't give a shit but expect results and the fans to keep paying. Arsenal is just a good example. The guy must be shitposting. He'd be better off in /arse/.
>>
>>76214077
>>76213726

>>
>>76217391
>And? It wasn't self-sufficient before then?
Yes, but they didn't have a stadium to pay for you dickhead. Like I said: it's not Dein, it's the stadium.

>>76217366
No, I wouldn't. I'd understand that in the longterm, the stadium is best for the club. I wouldn't think I have some divine right to not suffer to get something that is good. Show some balls, you fucking faggot.

>>76217406
Not sure what you're trying to say here, friendo.
>>
>>76217417
You don't get it, do you? Dein worked with Wenger. He would not have made Wenger sell his star players to help speed up the 'funding' of the stadium. He would not have forced Wenger to live on fucking scraps. He would not have used Wenger as a scapegoat for everything.

Mate, next you're gonna say Ashley is a good chairmen for Newcastle and expecting Europe football for them every season is perfectly fine. Customers pay for stuff. They pay for the experience. Imagine going to a cinema that used to have amazing sounds and screens and shit and every time you go they remove speakers or shit and replace the seats with plastic chairs and when you ask 'What the fuck?' they go "Well we're funding the new screenroom next door! It'll be so much better when it's done lads!" so you wait 10 years, putting up with the plastic chairs and shit speakers and you go into the all singing all dancing perfect acoustic screen room that can fit 10,000 people and great seats and screens and speakers... You ask where they are and they go "Oh well lads this was just so we could be self-sufficient lol! You expect us to buy good speakers, screens and seats? Omg don't be so entitled you fucking babies! We don't owe you nothing ! Now pay the most expensive prices in the fucking world for the privilege to watch a film on a shitty 60" TV"

>The Brazil under-23 cap is yet to make his full debut, but is in the squad for the upcoming friendlies against Argentina and Australia.

Is Pep planning to spend 10 years at City? Cause it's the only way this is gonna pay off. Young talent GK's either have to be God Like or play in sub-top level teams until they're like 27.

Actually Mazzarri did ok all things considered. If Watford wasn't managed crazily with the squad and manager changes he would probably get a stable position.

A lower half Premier League or a Serie A side would be good for him, it seems he struggled with the language at times.

They were definitely good enough on paper, it just didn't work out for them. Karanka was absolutely clueless on how to play offensive football even though he had a squad with potential.

Insisting with Negredo and Gestede upfront when it didn't really work out instead of Traoré was his main error imo. Other than set pieces and seldom build up plays they were pretty much toothless.

They really didn't have anything remarkable other than some solid centerbacks in a season that seemed promising at first. Not expecting them to come back to the prem any time soon.

Fugg. He gain that position before he went to Roma. Dunga would choose Diego Alves, but he got a 6-month injury so he decidec to go with Alisson, despite the fact that Alisson wasn't even our 3rd best gk at the time.

Tite came in and he decided to change the little as possible in regards of the names called, but ppl were saying that he had already give the message to Alisson: or you became a regular starter or you get the fuck off.

Seems like we will have to tolarate this fucker. I just hope he don't be out starter gk in the wc. He's mediocre at best.
