So with Jr retiring Nationwide and Axalta alter their sponsorship agreements with HMS. Essentially this causes the 88 to be grossly unsponsored for the 2018 effort. Mt. Dew stays with HMS but goes to the 24 spliting the season with NAPA. Things were looking bleek for the future of the 88 as rumors begin that HMS might scale back to 3 cars.

But suddenly, out no where an announcement is made in late September. A driver from the JRM stable has been selected and is bringing along his longtime sponsor. He is a Cup "veteran" with over 100 starts to his name.

Both forms are great.
Only autists argue one is better than the other. Formula 1 drivers usually dont do well in NASCAR, and a NASCAR driver probably wouldnt fare well in the F1. Both are physically demanding. F1 is so technical, that the slightest weight advantage makes a world of difference, while NASCAR is more of strategy with pit stops meaning a world of difference and car setups.
