To be fair, ECU doesn't even TRY to compete in basketball, so the football program gets all the money.

But yes, the trend it against them, P5 has all the money now. There's a small chance that the AAC will get a bump when it renegotiates media rights, but the Power 6 meme will never happen.

If I were in charge of the AAC, I would have already started whoring out to advertising. It's the only way to stay competitive at the mid-major level. Business logos on the field, on the jerseys, etc.

Sure, it's a little tacky, but the time to act is NOW. The gap is ever-widening between G5 and P5, and the longer anyone waits the harder it will be to keep up.

The one thing ECU has going for it is the size of the crowd. It's the largest in the G5, and larger than half the P5. That kind of exposure gets athletes noticed for the NFL draft. And if players keep going to the NFL, talent will keep signing with ECU, regardless of the money.

Colorado isn't quite on par with UCLA and Utah in terms of talent this year but they have a big schedule advantage over them both. CU doesn't play Stanford or Oregon this year and their game against Washington is in Boulder (that can still be penciled in as a loss but it gives them a chance). UCLA and Utah each play both Oregon and Stanford and get UW in Seattle. Combine that with what might be the easiest non-conference schedule in the country and CU has 9 or 10 win potential again. If I had to guess I'd put them at 8-4 but if things fall right they could easily outperform that.

Their last meeting was in 2010 in the Big 12 Championship and their last regular season meeting was in 2009. They aren't scheduled to meet again until either 2020 or 2021. So I wouldn't put it on a list of best rivalries since it's not an active series at the moment. If they still met annually or even 2 on 2 off I'd put it ahead of OU/Texas based on how much was on the line historically. OU/Texas has bad blood between states but OU/Nebraska had conference supremacy and usually a shot at the Orange Bowl on the line when it was an annual game.
