Stock cars have the steepest learning curve for already accomplished racers. If you can race dirt you can race open wheel. Not to say that what Alonso is doing isn't super impressive cuz it is, but it's not all that surprising cuz he's a world class F1 talent.

Stock cars are the equivalent of racing UPS trucks to these guys. Horribly handling fuck huge tanks. I think that's why you see so little success for accomplished drivers trying out NASCAR. Altho even tho he didn't win, I thought JPM did a good job there. If you can drive a stock car, you can drive anything.
