It's one thing to watch a team that doesn't win all the time, and it's a completely different one to watch a team that never wins. Since you've started to support them in 2004 you had to wait "just" for a single decade to see them lift a trophy, but as I said some 40yo dudes hadn't seen them win up until then. If they at least played attractive football I'd understand someone liking them despite the lack of trophies but that's not the case, so I really don't get why you would do such a thing to yourself. They're terribly managed, their fans are mediocre and uncreative (they only chant one song throughout the whole game and that's the club's anthem), their jerseys are ugly as hell, they're not a traditional team and they're the greatest chokers our country has ever seen. As if it weren't enough, they're also pessimistic and whiny. They were once massively refballed by Flamengo in 1981 and they've become paranoid ever since. One bad call by a ref is all it takes for them to complain the whole year that the championship is rigged and that Globo doesn't want a team outside Rio or São Paulo to win.
