Thats not really why. The randomness of injuries, off field activities such as drug suspensions, uneven game schedules, a bizarre league structure and a the least 3 games being straight knock out cup competion all contribute to that.
Even just the fact the end of the season is a one game knock out cup is enough to create parity. Look at the Champions League or the FA Cup for example, they have 'parity'.
