Ball is not the player to save the Lakers from mediocrity and irrelevance. He could be part of a better Lakers team, but he's not going to be carrying anyone. LA is a good place for him though, especially if they can get Paul George.

I want him to succeed in spite of his father. The man is a loon who has done a lot of good for his sons but is currently costing his oldest son tens of millions of dollars and only making it more difficult to get off to a good start in the NBA. they're a better team without him. frankly they're a bunch of 3 point shooters plus a little slashing ball hog.

The goal is to beat the cavs not to come 2nd to them. They're either going to trade the pick to a team that wants Ball, in exchange for a player they THINK will take them over the top (note this solution does not fix the IT problem) or they'll take Ball and trade IT for another perimeter shooter; or a real interior defender (maybe get their hands on Blake Griffin)

The Celtics will play the long game on Ball, that's how their program works. they'll aim to beat james in 2 more years when he's 35 and declining. see in 2 years KD will be out of Oakland too, they're going to plan this off season for winning the championship in 2019, part of that is saying goodbye to IT and making the play for Ball.

I think that underlined the problem the Celtics have with IT. If they want to beat LeBron, they're not going to do it with IT on the team. This team isn't good enough to do it. They need a great interior defender plus a real ball moving point guard to make the other parts work. I suspect this is why Ball suddenly looks rather good to the Celtics.
