Even in a 4-3-3 Carrasco isn't that great on the right (on the left Hazard is nailed on). When Martinez uses 3-4-3 Carrasco is needed elsewhere. Most of the starting line-up picks itself and 3-4-3 helps to squeeze in every top player while still having a very attack-minded yet more or less balanced side.

With Mertens occupying central areas, KDB has plenty of experience playing out wide. Then you have the likes of Mirallas, Chadli, T.Hazard, Januzaj, Origi, Bakkali, Mbenza, Musonda Jr. So basically it's Hazard-Mertens-KDB finding each other to pull off a few smart combinations and Nainggolan blooters. Also allows Dembele to get into that midfield instead of warming the bench.
