But it is not a world title, and right now it has the same importance of the Florida Cup
Your 2005 titles still counts so you should be happy :-)

I do think it is unfair with museum clubs, São Paulo has a beautiful national history in the past, but i am not the one calling the shots, it is the guys in FIFA.
You should be happy with Florida Cup, having a great goalkeeper win an important title so early in his career, i think this year will be pretty good considering you are eliminated in every competition already

World Cup and Intercontinental Cup wins.")
They are saying is not the same title, but they have the same value, you idiot,
Also: Winning against barcelon after winning the libertadores>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>winning a sumer tournament agains vasco without libertadores
>>75981186
>Also: Winning against barcelon after winning the libertadores>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>winning a sumer tournament agains vasco without libertadores
That "sumer title agains Vasco" is still considered a world title..
Not an intercontinental.
It was a 22nd consecutive win in all competitive
matches for Real and the seventh win in
11 editions of the FIFA Club World Cup for
UEFA representatives. “It’s a fi tting end to an
unforgettable year,” said coach Carlo Ancelotti
who, after winning with AC Milan in 2007, is now
a two-time club world champion. Real, meanwhile,
equalled AC Milan’s record of four FIFA Club
World Cup and Intercontinental Cup wins
Like i said before, yeah it was a difficult tournament, maybe make a movie about it, but regarding the scope of the tournament, it is not Global, just like Florida Cup.Not sure why you are getting triggered by this.
The word "Mundial" or world champions was only used by FIFA after the creation of CWC, all the other usage of the word was Newspapers or The Club itself selling the idea.
and please for the love of god stop googling são paulo shit fan sites or blogspot "journalism", it hurts your argument

>corintianos unironically believe this
Stop trying to rewrite history. It's funny how this whole thing wasn't even a debate until recently, and how corintianos would make flags and banners about wanting to go to japan to become world champions in the 90s and 2000s.

He is so fucking mad ahahahahahaha.
>>75983037
Of course is also the president's fault. He spent huge money on average players, renewed with a lot of shit ones, maintained an unexperienced coach who is clearly not up for the task, hired for director of football a man who managed to get 2 of their biggest rivals relegated in the same season, amidst a bunch of other awful management decisions. And on the post-game interview, instead of saying that he would start reevaluating some of his decisions, he literally said "no, I did everything right, if you're criticizing me you're a fake flamenguista".
>>75983081
I didn't mean that the guy wasn't at fault, he seems to have a lot to do with them getting eliminated but interviewing him right after the game is basically asking for controversy.
>flamengo took his website down, fearing mass canceling of sócios
The gift that keeps on giving.
>>75983165
It's standard practice here in Brazil for club presidents to give interviews after the game, especially after huge defeats like that.
>>75983081
>And on the post-game interview, instead of saying that he would start reevaluating some of his decisions, he literally said "no, I did everything right, if you're criticizing me you're a fake flamenguista".
That was absolutely awful, but Mauro Cezar basically came up to him asking "hEY ARE YOU FIRING SOMEONE NOW?". Then he goes and say "look I'm not firing anyone right now" and Mauro goes "why are you talking politics??" like he wasn't the one that brought the subject up. Bandeira is a selfish asshole with a hurt pride, of course he would spout some shit like this.
>>75983217
Why tho? It never does any good for anyone.
>>75983217
Damn, that has to be brutal. Someone should've been there with him then to make sure he didn't go apeshit if this is common practice.
post >yfw you are not a Flamerda supporter
>>75983249
>but Mauro Cezar basically came up to him asking "hEY ARE YOU FIRING SOMEONE NOW?
he obviously didn't, stop acting out your imagination, his first question was if he was about to take more direct decisions, and saying how it has nothing to do with a headhunt, but just a more direct approach.
Then he didn't answer, so Mauro asked again, and he said he was a fake supporter.
>>75983249
Nah, even though I absolutely dislike Mauro Cezar (remember the cucabol thing?), it wasnt like that, he only asked if any measures would be taken, if he would reevaluate anything, and the president not only said he wouldnt change anything but also started an unironically rant against his critics and twitter users who doesnt support his presidency.
>>75983249
>>75983270
It's tough, but the majority of presidents can behave in a reasonable manner.
To be fair is there any point in After-loss interviews which help the team? They just cause more harm than good.
The only one i can think of is Andres Sanchez after the joke that the Tolima x Corinthians match was

>>75983323
It's still a really difficult situation. He shouldn't have chimped out and it makes him and the club look really bad but he's human and under a lot of pressure now.
To be honest, it's moments like this that I'm glad nobody ever expects anything of my team. Can't dissapoint if noone believes you can win.
>>75983323
i don't get why people got mad about the cucabol thing, he wasn't unreasonable on that one
>>75983463
He was clearly mad because Palmeiras managed to get a draw against Flamengo. Some of his arguments made sense at first, but then he got lost on the character.

2017 Narconal = San lorenzo (both had a shit start and are catching up)

But the point is that one team had an obligation to get past group stages, and the other started as a shit team in comparison, and no one dared to say flamengo wouldn't qualify/would go out before botafogo.
But that's all irrelevant right now because they still might get eliminated on the group stage too.

Nacional's major flaw is that they couldn't score the chances they created.
The moment they scored 4 vs estudiantes and chape, it might've given them a new light and maybe they learned how to score, but it's too early to say.
Meanwhile, San lorenzo is exactly the opposite of this situation, they came out with two late winners and managing an early lead away, thing that Nacional wasn't able to do vs barcelona on the first game, partially due to the way their opponents played, mainly because of the competence that the colombian team was and may still be lacking.
But, at the end of the day, even if i'm wrong, which i may be, the fact that one team was supposed to not even get past the first round, and the other was the future champion, won't change: group one was overhyped to scare the 80yo botafogo supporters and push flamengo higher as the team that would get really good results, and played on the hardest group(true, mainly because Catolica > Estudiantes).
But again, botafogo might choke again, so it's too early to say.
>botafogo won't get bought by that based Sheik
>botafogo will likely play on 4-3-3 again

What the fuck is Caixa? I swear every single brazilian team has it on their shirt.
>>76013206
Caixa Econômica Federal (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈkajʃɐ ekoˈnõmikɐ fedeˈɾaw], Federal Savings Bank), also referred to as Caixa or CEF, is a Brazilian bank headquartered in the nation's capital, Brasília. It is the second largest government-owned financial institution in Latin America, after Banco do Brasil. It is the fourth largest bank in Brazil by assets and one of the largest in Latin America.
>>76013206
They're also, currently, the main sponsor of 13 of the 20 clubs in Brazilian first division.
http://www.caixa.gov.br/esportes/clubes-patrocinados/Paginas/default.aspx
>>76013206
This >>76013338. The most important thing about caixa is that its a state-owned bank, which means that the government is literally spending public money on clubs. Coincidentally or not, Flamengo and Corinthians receive more money than almost every other club. The only exception is Palmeiras, who is also the only one of the 12 big clubs who isn't sponsored by public money (and they receive a lot of criticism because their private sponsors pay them a lot more than the other clubs receive from the government, even though this criticism sounds completely absurd).

I always wondered why this team was so successful, coming from such a small city.

Cobresal is from a miner town with 9,000 people and has won 1 title
>>76030393
Do they have a lot of fans or is it a plastic corporate club?
Do they support them even though they are in Primera B?

Newell's choked against Boca. Literally the best one before the 5-hard matches streak and they fucked EVERY SINGLE MATCH so far. Now unless San Lorenzo, River and maybe Racing don't choke (all of them on international cups for at least until the tournament is almost over), it's gonna be a happy road for Boca towards the title.
>>76031245
>Santa Tecla
That's where Abreu was champion right? have they always been a big team?
>>76032945
I was watching that match and still don't understand why Pablo Perez is playing, same with Peruzzi, fucking Nicaragua tier players.
>>76033017
> Pablo Perez
muh signature players
> Gino Peruzzi
muh international quality player, muh resell income
>Antofagasta
>>76033489
care to explain?
>>76033534
They got a draw with Colo-Colo last week.
Antofagasta scored the 1-1 goal at the last minutes and because of that draw Colo-Colo stopped being the leader of the league and was surpassed by the U in points
>Internacional
>DRAW against "ABC"
>Literally tie with babby's first team
>>76033489
Chistosos, los bastardos conchesumare. Váyanse a jugar a Bolivia, cagones culiaos!
Remember LDU, Libertadores champions in 08? They could seriously get relegated this year (and I hope it happens).

>>76034867
You have an average points system or are they just complete dog shit and can't leave the bottom
>>76035804
The latter. It's a long tournament tho, and we're only on the 15th playdate (of 44 total), but they're doing the same numbers as teams that usually get relegated.
>>76035338
>parapam
>>76033013
Nah they won the league for the first time in 2015
>>76037018
cool, that means Abreu was part of a good generation for the club (or bought by a millionaire) or it was just a coincidence for him to be there?
making the new thread, pls nobody beats me
