Well, The basics are this:

A single game is 9 innings.
A single season is 162 games.
You have Pitchers, Catchers, and you have Batters.

Batters are your basemen (1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base, short stop), Your catcher, and your outfielders (left field, center field, right field). Batters step up to the plate in a line order. Each batter gets 2 strikes (missing the ball while swinging) and 3 balls (the pitcher throws the ball outside the catchers box and the umpire calls it). If the batter gets 3 strikes, he's out and the next batter is up. If he gets 4 balls then he walks to 1st base. A Batter's goal is to get the ball moving so they or other batters can score a run. 3 outs ends an inning.

Pitchers stand on the center mound throwing the ball to the Catcher. You have your Starting pitcher (who pitches for the first 1 - 6 innings) and you have your relief pitchers. They are sent in at 7th and 8th innings with a Closing pitcher in the 9th usually.

Catchers catch the ball. They signal what type of pitching throws the pitcher should consider throwing for a batter. They also try to make balls look like strikes with good technique and can cause field errors if they can't catch a ball that flies into the dirt. Easily identified as the guy behind the batter.

Basemen guard the bases. If a Batter successfully hits the ball and one of the basemen or outfielders don't catch the ball before it hits the ground it's a fair ball. That means the Batters can run around the bases until the ball comes to the basemen they're running towards. A Baseman's goal is to essentially guard the base and try to tag a player out. If the player touches the plate before he is tagged, he's safe.
