>HOU:O'Brien says D'Onta Foreman is out of shape
I don't remember if he said Foreman was particularly out of shape compared to the other rookies they brought in. He usually comments every year on how the rookies are generally out of shape because they've been training for combine drills instead of preparing for NFL football. The only people in recent memory I remember O'Brien ragging on for being particularly out of shape are Jaelen Strong (who managed to correct his conditioning partway into his rookie year iirc) and Louis Nix III (who O'Brien commented had trouble just making it through practices and who was eventually cut because of injury and conditioning concerns).

I don't think I'm too concerned about Foreman yet. Gotta see how he shows up to OTAs and then training camp. If he's still out of shape by training camp, then I'll be more worried.

Dude Jeff Fisher is arguably one of the worst head coaches in NFL history. He couldn't develop talent on offence the entire time he was with the Rams

Goff has talent but McVay is gonna do a lot of simple quick rhythm stuff on offence and pound the rock with Gurley and an improved O line. Mainly It's the defence that has me thinking they'll get to 9-10 wins this year but Goff definitely is a huge question mark which is why nobody else will pick them to make it in this year

How good does it really need to be? If you have Joe Mixon, Gio Bernard, Tyler Eifert, AJ Green, John Ross, Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd on offence you're going to score a ton of points. The Jacksonville Jaguars are literally too talented to fail. That is a championship defense. It's really all on the coaches and Bortles now
>>
>>75932203
>championship defence

At what positions? I mean they have two very good CBs in Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye but where's the depth? Tashaun Gipson and Barry Church aren't exactly world beaters at Safety

LBs you got Myles Jack who didn't show shit last year, Paul Posluzny who's getting older and Telvin Smith who's the one that's actually an above average player from the group. Where's the depth there?

D line now you could make an arguement. Calais Campbell is a potential Hall of Famer but Malik Jackson and Dante Fowler didn't exactly do much last year. Yannick Ngakoue put some heat on but the dude plays at a lighter weight than Robert Mathis did in the mid 00s. He's not exactly an every down DE

I dunno I see a unit like the Giants, Chiefs, Texans and I can buy into it because they have proven blue chip talent. Jaguars have potential but outside of Campbell and Ramsey I wouldn't consider any player from their projected starting 11 as a blue chip player
>>
>>75932264
>At what positions? I mean they have two very good CBs in Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye but where's the depth? Tashaun Gipson and Barry Church aren't exactly world beaters at Safety

Aaron Colvin is literally a high tier nickel corner. Gipson led the league in interceptions back to back a few years ago and really wasn't terrible despite playing out of position most of the time, and Barry Church is pretty good famalam

>LBs you got Myles Jack who didn't show shit last year, Paul Posluzny who's getting older and Telvin Smith who's the one that's actually an above average player from the group. Where's the depth there?
Jack hardly played last year for reasons unknown. I don't think this is the year Poz starts falling off though, he's been solid as fuck for the Jags. They have an extremely athletic rookie behind them but yeah, the LB corps definitely needs a little more depth

Jackson literally posted career numbers in like every category last year senpai. Fowler is basically a sophomore player and Ngakoue is a fantastic pass rusher
>>
>>75932301
Overall though, it's still a defense with top 5 talent. It'll be hard to fuck it up this year considering they finished 6th in defense last year with less (and more time on the field)
>>
>>75932301
>>75932310
>top 5 talent

Why though? Would you honestly take the Jags defence and HC/DC over the Chiefs, Giants, Patriots, Texans, Ravens, Seahawks, Falcons, Eagles, Broncos and Rams?

I could see them being better than maybe one or two teams on that list if everything broke right but that's barely top 10. Then you throw in all the turnovers and bad field position that their offence will put them in and it really seems like a stretch for them to dominate in a way that will consistently result in wining football games
>>
>>75932335
But statistically last year they were better than some of those teams on that list. They finished #6 in defense and #5 in pass defense, and they've objectively improved on defense, not to mention they're running a traditional 4-3 instead of the 4-3 under based defense, which a lot of people believe is a huge reason why they couldn't force turnovers; none of the personnel fit the scheme

I think it's unrealistic to think that the Jags will finish with as many turnovers as they have in the past unless Leonard Fournette tears his ACL in preseason. They'll be playing ball control and trying to win the field position battle. Bortles has actually looked studly whenever the Jags are able to establish a running game.

Yes, I'd take the Jaguars as a top 5 defense this year, especially considering the QBs they play this year.

>Ken Anderson and Dan Fouts better than John Elway
this is literally the worst post i've ever seen online
>>
>>75934425
the fact that he managed to command the weak AFC and make it to three Super Bowls with shit talent surrounding him while not being a choke artist like Marino. yeah, he only won them when TD arrived on the scene, but he ran into crazy good NFC teams in his first three SBs and got pounded each time because, outside of him, the talent was just too much better on the other side.

>>75934445
>Romo
he isn't within yodeling distance of the top 25. you're lucky I even bothered with Aikman, it took some persuading from people on other forums for me to even let him in the top 20.

>>75934474

Bledsoe did take a then shit franchise to the SB. That choke tho.

I have Brady #1 because his resume is the most complete and well rounded

5th in career starts by a qb(should pass Marino and Tarkenton for 3rd this year)
Consistency
two mvps
and the greatest winner other than *maybe* Otto Graham but that was a much different era

the greatness of Brady comes from it's very hard to find a flaw from his career

as for the asterisks it's very hard to know what's legitimate, and what's not, as well as the extent of Brady's involvement in said scandals and how much it aided them in winning.

If it bothers you that much you can give him the Barry Bond treatment, but I'm not going to penalize him for it.

Hassan Roddick will have a better career than Reuben Foster. Roddick is a better athlete, pass rusher, and work ethic with no injury concerns.

Foster has better instincts, and hits harder. Only problem is his physical playstyle will lend to a short nfl career because he's not very big and has bad shoulders

He can still get a job, a backjob, but that's it. It depends on whether or not he wants to settle to be a backup which at the moment he feels he shouldn't settle for.

>Extent of political knowledge is wearing t-shirts with political figures on it so you have no idea what you're actually talking about then non-ironically say Casto was a great guy.
>Have to 180 your PR stand for next season
I still remember this, when he trying to market his jersey number. Nothing really wrong with that considering how many players jumped on the bandwagon to do that.

However there seems to be a greater need now to set some sort of brand or image with Kaepernick than say Russell Wilson or Kirk Cousins which has increased more as his play went down the shitter.

He doesn't seem like a smart guy honestly so you can guess his agents have been in the mix a lot. I wonder if they hate their jobs.

What I really liked was that I could get Williams, Ross and Hunt in rounds 8-10. I love all 3 dudes to contribute big time as rookies. Think Hunt especially will be gone way higher by August/September

Pittsburgh: Steelers nation is one of the largest NFL fanbases across the country. Typical divisional / playoff contenders with multiple superb owl wins.

Cincinnati: Tough competitors in the division even though their playoff record isn't great. Also a team founded by Paul Brown.

Baltimore: Ozzie Newsome. HoF TE for Cleveland while he played. Worked his way into management for Baltimore after retirement and then becoming first African American GM in the league. Been an above average GM for the organization since then.

It's hard to say nice things about division rivals when the team you root for is constantly at the bottom of the division.

He wasn't sitting during anthems when he was a star player in the league, only when he became a backup.

His parents were white, and he grew up rich.

He's a prime slacktivist. I don't know why people still hold the guy in such high esteem.

this is wrong
that draft is like 2/10 at best

Jane Johnson is elite when he isn't suspended
Zach Ertz still hasn't peaked
Bennie Logan is great when he is healthy which is less than Lane Johnson, and he isn't even on the team anymore

the rest were all nobodies and busts
>>
>>75949284
Drafts aren't busts just because a bunch of late round picks washed out of the league. If you get one or two competent starters out of a draft you've done better than average.
>>
>>75949284
i misread and thought it was ranking just the 1st rounder. maybe a 2 or 3 would be more suitable yeah
>>
>>75949309
in hindsight, with Johnson having PED issues and ertz taking a while to develop when we already had Celek, and then the rest of the draft being worthless, you cant argue that it was "ok" overall

>>
>>75949708
Bradford wasn't worth the pick the Vikings gave up obviously. But he's going to be their starter for the foreseeable future, can limit turnovers, and basically do everything Bridgewater did better. Neither of them are Brady or Rodgers, but when comparing the two of them I don't see how any rational human being thinks Bridgewater has played better.
>>
>>75949690
Bradford and TB12 have very comparable stats except for two key areas: 3rd down and red zone efficiency. In both cases Teddy's was either average or above average, while Sam Bradford's was one of the worst. Easy to have a high completion percentage when you throw far short of the first down marker against a defense ready to defend the short pass.

Teddy at least did a half-decent job of converting on third down after two straight negative-yard AP runs. If you want to see an example of how Teddy looks without AP, look at his last few games of 2015 when AP was very obviously out of gas.

Bradford threw to open guys. Bridgewater threw guys open.

And the offensive line was a dumpster fire for both of them. It's not even worth comparing.

Don't correct me when you don't know shit.
>>
>>75949766
>Seriously comparing a year where AP led the league in rushing yards with a year where the Vikings had the worst rushing attack in the league
God you really are fucking retarded. No shit Bradfords red zone efficiency was garbage, the Vikings offense itself was so much shittier than it had been the year before, and that's not even mentioning how the defense played better. You seem to think that both of them played in a vacuum, and that Bridgewater was anything other than a below average QB his two years. Mind boggling.

>>
>>75950009
By any metric it was. I'm sure you'll pull something out of your ass about how Teddy's checkdowns were actually much better or something, but the 2015 Vikings were a better team in every sense than the 2016 Vikings, excerpt at QB where they played at a similar level. But yeah, must have been so hard for Teddy to play with that top running back and top defense.

as far as current best is concerned it's probably Rodgers narrowly

he played at a comparable level through his final 12 regular season games and 3 playoff games and isn't 40

games 5-16
Brady- 67.4cmp%, 3554 yards, 8.2y/a, 28 TDs, 2 INTs, 112.2 passer rating
Rodgers- 68.6cmp%, 3552 yards, 7.5 y/a, 31 TDs, 4 INTs, 109.1 passer rating

playoffs
Brady- 65.5cmp%, 1137 yards, 8.0y/a, 7 TDs, 3 INTs, 97.7 QBR
Rodgers- 62.5cmp%, 1004 yards, 7.8y/a, 9 TDs, 2 INTs, 103.8 QBR

of course the game people care about is the SB and the NFC championship game as comparison. which are deceptively similar as far a QB performance alone is concerned. here it is, here it is, adjusted for possessions without a drop-back.

contributed points per possession:
Rodgers- 2.625 (3.0 had Crosby made a first half field goal)
Brady- 2.83 (2.25 weighted for his pick six)

contributed yards per possession (includes qb rushing)
Rodgers- 41.6 (35.875 passing)
Brady- 40.1 (38.83 passing)

QB Completion percentage:
Rodgers- 60%
Brady- 69%

quarterback rating:
Rodgers- 91.6
Brady- 95.2

passing first down percentage:
Rodgers- 40%
Brady- 41%

team non QB rushing per possession
Packers- 4.33
Patriots- 7.42

rushing yards per attempts by non-QBs
Packers- 3.25
Patriots- 3.7

QBs Turnovers per possession:
Rodgers- 0.125
Brady- 0.083

other team turnovers per possession:
Packers- 0.111
Patriots- 0.083

wanna know what happens if the patriots don't get a defensive stop in the 2nd half until the last 2 minutes and change?
the patriots lose and idiots look at his pick six and say he's done.

both played good games with a ridiculous amount of QB pressures and their backs against the wall. one game was just a team effort.

exaggerated but teddy could make clutch throws and lead. Bradford was just the ultimate checkdown babby and no heart.

captcha: PACK WoodMarket
>>
>>75950064
this is wrong tho...
it's far from the popular opinion but plenty of people do. as far as what people expect for this season he might even have the lead.
>>
>>75950071
No one is talking about individual numbers. By any team metric, the 2015 Vikings were a better team, whether it's total offense or defense. Yet Bridgewater wasn't doing anything but not turn the ball over and complete his passes. Which is good, but you don't get more credit for doing the same thing that someone else does with a worse supporting cast.

The only difference in the two years was AP, who racked up most of his big runs in games already out of reach. He had four long TD runs in 2015, and in all four cases the score failed to decide the game.

vs San Diego: Third quarter run for 43 yards, score 17-7. Game ended 31-14.
@Denver: Fourth quarter run for 48 yards, score 17-20. Game ended 20-23.
@Oakland: Fourth quarter run for 80 yards, score 30-14. Final score same.
@Atlanta: Fourth quarter run for 35 yards, score 20-3. Final score 20-10.

Longest TD run in the first half of games was nine yards. If anything he hurt the offense by being one-dimensional and not being able to take snaps out of the shotgun. Yards and touchdowns don't tell the whole story.

And while it's true Bradford didn't have AP, he did have Adam Thielen having the best season of his entire career and Diggs improving on his streaky rookie year. Unless you somehow think Diggs was better in year one or that lazy piece of shit Mike Wallace is better than Thielen.
