Literally every team does it
I'm sure your local favela is sponsored by Walmart. Save money. Live better. Walmart.

>Colgate the official Proctor & Gamble of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

>Los Angeles Rams (Formerly San Diego (Formerly Los Angeles (Formerly Cleveland)))

At least we have some names that have potential like Lambeau, Camden Yards and the Great American Ball Park
Losing names like Mile-High, the Palace, and the Rose Garden made it look worse though
Every other stadium/arena now has either (team name) (generic stadium synonym) or (sponsor) (generic stadium synonym) and it's pathetic. The one thing I like about England is they have creative stadium names with a nice history behind each name.

They do this for the most inane shit
My favorite team has an official used car broker ffs

That's because your local population won't produce a large enough consumer base that would encourage companies to pay for advertising on your stupid shows.
