Disappointed he didn't bring him. Or Sweetnam, but there's a lot to be happy about otherwise. I wanted us to try out new centre combos this tour and all we'll likely get is Scannell and Ringrose as a viable test pairing. Not bad but there was scope for more. Marshall just isn't good enough.

I view this as more of a development tour so I don't see any reason not to include promising players in areas we need greater depth and expose them to the set-up and international rugby. There's not much we can do at lock in the short-term but our back three could do with greater depth and the players are there. A few injuries and we're down to Donkey Kearney and McFadden so Sweetnam at least should have been brought along even if he didn't play.

Don't really care if we lose any games either and I could see the Japs really pushing us very hard.

Looking forward to the games though much more than the Lie-ins.
