Yes during the first half there was a goal umpiring call which incorrectly ruled a bulldogs kick as a rushed behind. West Coast weren't kicking straight so I feel as though they were trying to make the lead manageable for this pathetic side to get back into the contest.

During the second half the free kicks ramped up the Bulldogs way and nothing was getting paid to West Coast. Given the injuries to the bulldogs "star" players I'm pretty sure that this "comeback" was all part of the "brave bulldogs" narrative Gil has constructed.

Personally at the start of the game I felt that they wanted to engineer a Bulldogs win to prove last year's elimination final was no fluke. But I guess given the better conditions for the Eagles and the greater disparity between both teams compared to last time this would have been too difficult to manufacture.

Sam Mitchell is an obvious plant. Dominant in the first half, did fuck all in the second. You just look at his expression post game interview. "Yeah how can you not hate the Bulldogs they are such a great tackling side :D". Probably getting a nice retirement package from the AFL.
