That stat is meaningless. A lot of those passes are backwards and little sideways dinks, while a winger will always have a lower percentage because they're hitting crosses and low percentage passes. Doesn't tell the whole story of their games.

He covers so much space on defense, and on offense he pretty much plays the left-back because Marcelo transforms into a winger, you can't really do much from that position but pass to either back to Ramis or in the centre to Luka and Casemiro, or you can risk a parallel to Marcelo. Same for Luka on the other side. I feel like Zen Master (Zidane) should switch Luka's and Casemiro's positions because Luka would be even more creative from the central midfield as he'd actually have both sides of the pitch as an option for creative plays, this way when he plays on the right his options are limited. Remember in Milan when Gattuso played on the right and Pirlo in the middle? That shit worked.

He was the best German player at the world cup and ever since.
His style may be unspectacular but he can play in every midfield position and be one of the best in the world.

He's a top quality player, would struggle in the Premiership though
