no, Rodgers was incredibly lucky to have Suarez blossom into an unbelievably good player, and that the transfer committee overruled him to bring Sturridge in when Rodgers didn't want him.

Whereas Klopp took an utter shit side last season to 2 cup finals, which Brendan never managed, and for the first third of this season at least got the team playing better football than Rodgers ever did. Even with terrible injuries and missing players the drop off has only meant we're third instead of first.

Beckenbauer wasn't a meme. He has the image of a lazy people manager ("Geht raus und spielt Fußball") but he was actually working quite hard as a coach. For example he was one of the first coaches to study video tapes of the opponents before matches. Plus I don't think he had ever a bad spell as a coach. Beckenbauer was basically the coach in 1974 and won the World Cup. Beckenbauer coached a shitty team into second place in 1986. Beckenbauer coached a decent team to win the World Cup in 1990. As a interim coach he won the UEFA Cup and the Bundesliga with Bayern.

I agree with what you said about Beckenbauer but that Uefa Cup was Otto Rehhagel's achievement, they just kicked him out before the final. Kinda like when Schalke kicked out Magath after he reached the cup final, it was his achievement and not Rangnicks.
