At Juventus he had the following players behind and beside him. Pirlo / Vidal / Marchisio or Khedira / Pirlo / Marchisio

Most of those players are superstars and won the ball back when Pogba would fuck off to the left wing to try tricks and have long range shots.

At Juventus he never had to take control of midfield, and he has not adjusted to this responsibility at United yet.

I tried, it's described as something with over 200 stats in it, but they I can't find the formula and weights.

The real problem is knowing if each stat is weiighted differently for position and if yes what position what weight.

I give up, it's trivial but too time consuming with all the stats they have there.

All in all the scores from whoscored are pretty accurate. I'd only call bullshit on Otamendi and Kolarov, and Pogba also was obviously not the second best player, but you could argue he is among the top4 midfielders. So as i said all in all accurate.

Which is another problem with trying to make an XI with just stats. It heavily favours players, who are good at easily quantifiable things, and also makes the assumption that players on a certain position should all be good at a certain thing, regardless of what system their team plays.

stoped caring for whoscored and other similar sites ratings when Real Madrid got that game where opponents were down to 9 man in 20 or 30 minutes and some of them - Benzema, Bale, James iirc - got 10.0 ratings.
How can you compare this with let's say a goal and an assist in even match where both teams put high quality performances?
I mean if you dribble 2 times against great opponent, is it not worth more than dribble 10 times past literally whos? How can you compare this with use of numbers?

That's inherent flaw of any statistic, not just those comparison websites. But whoscored's problems are far worse, to the point where their ratings aren't even orientational but simply worthless. Anons already pointed out how weirdly tackles and stuff are evaluated, but what's worst is their value of successful short passes. Hypothetically (You) could become an attacking midfielder for Bayern, do nothing but stand 5 feet away from Lewa/Muller/Thiago whoever and just pass them ball 60 times a match doing absolutely nothing else and you'd end up with 8.9 rating. That's how Pogba gets his points, because as we know he's the Passing King™ (36th in making key passes, but we're not going to tweet that are we)
