I'm tbqhonestly tired of people saying the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead.

The difference is Flacco wouldn't sink his team playing with Matt Forte, Martellus Bennett, Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall

>>75718151
>possibly best QB they've ever had

That's Jim McMahon. Jay Cutler had some alright seaasons but he absolutely sank the team in 08, 09, 12 and 14. Jay Cutler wasted those great Bears defence's by failing to play complimentary football and always forcing shit instead of managing a football game like you're supposed to. Cutler didn't have to play small ball to do it but you look at his career fumbles and picks while he was in Chicago It's absolutely astounding he even lasted as long as he did

Fun Fact: Bears 2012 defence actually had more fumble/pick return Touchdowns than either the 85 or 86 Bears

I guess he was technically on the team but he was injured a lot from 08 to 12 which is why I don't remember him then. He missed a whole season in that stretch and struggled with other injuries. That defense wasn't "great" at least not in an all time sense outside of their sb run.

>>
>>75719271
Ozzie can't draft receivers for shit, he's better picking up old ones in the FA.

He's great drafting Oline in any round, but they still need to address the center needs.

It wasn't an stellar draft, but I think it was good enough to provide a 10 win season, ignoring any injuries.
>>
>>75719403
>ignoring any injuries

Oh dear did you forget what team we support? Ravens are always an interesting team to watch because I feel like we change so much from season to season but if we can't put together a playoff run this year I feel like Harbaugh will be on the hot seat more than Ozzie will and It's crap
>>
>>75719297
Jay is an interesting case to be sure. I'm not so sure he had decent oc outside of Adam gase for a year. All his passing plays at Chicago seemed to be based on deep ball or check down to forte and he checked down a lot. Idk I'm conflicted because it always seemed like his coach was calling plays like it was Madden.
>>
>>75719444
The FO doesn't really have an excuse now that Bengals seem to be out of the division.

Harbaugh is a weird coach, not sure if he deserves to be on the hot seat, to be fair, ever since the mutiny I have questioned his authority as a HC. Ozzie isn't even near the hot seat, sure he hasn't been on point lately, but he's still miles better than most GMs out there.

Make the playoffs again.

Actually win this time because we're playing a team with a not that great offense, lose in the divisional round when we meet an elite WB because our defense isn't ready yet.

11-5
>>
>>75719591
Na m8 Bengals look like division favorites right now imo. Their offence looks like It's gonna be nasty

Only thing I don't like with Harbaugh is that he has kept Dean Pees around so long.. Dude is a terrible DC the Patriots had their worst years defensively in the Belichick era when he took over 05-09 under him and so far we've had our worst years under him 2012 onwards. We could have had either Wade Philips in 2014 or Jim Scwartz in 2015 if we had kicked him to the curb. Hell I'd take a Rex Ryan reunion over Dean Pees

I want to type all the shit I hate about Ozzie but the list is just too long. I don't mind his approach to team building but all the mediocre/shit draft picks, terrible second contracts, trading Boldin ugh I'm just over people telling me he's a great GM especially other Ravens fans

>Optimistic Browns fan

Slight improvements but nothing drastic. Stronger run game with improved o-line and playbook experience. Whoever starts at QB (hopefully kessler (hopefully he can stay healthy)) needs to get some kind of a passing game going in order for it to flourish. Even if it's just check-downs. Gregg Williams and new signings on D will improve defense but nothing drastic since first year in new scheme.

Overall I'd say 4-5 wins closer to the end of the season with a moderate amount of close games in the middle. The team will start to come together and things will start clicking. Hopefully...

Pollard is just salty about not being brought back after 2012 I think so I ignore everything he says about Harbs

As for the Boldin trade that wasn't on John. Ozzie said in a video earlier this year I think it was either there post season presser or FA presser that if they "didn't trade Boldin they wouldn't have been able to sign Dumervil and Daryl Smith. I don't think it made us a worse football team"

Such crap. Boldin made our offence so much better the 3 years he was here and we traded him for a 6th round pick despite him wanting to retire here and not wanting that much money if you look at the contract extension he signed with the 49ers after the trade. Maybe he's right we couldn't have signed Dumervil but outside of 2014 he wasn't nearly worth his contract and Daryl Smith barely cost us anything. The reason we didn't have money for all 3 even is because he massivley overpaid Rice, Webb and Pitta. I always go back and compare Rice's contract to what Forte and Lynch got and It's just ridiculous he paid him so much instead of letting him walk

To be fair, Daryl Smith and Dumervil were key pieces during their tenure in Baltimore, not to mention Steve Smith Sr was as serviceable as Boldin.

Boldin was great, but the supporting cast (including the Oline) also helped him become the 3rd down monster that he was. Baltimore hasn't been able to even emulate a decent Oline in recent seasons, which is directly reflected in the lack of running game. I don't think Boldin being there would have made things much better.

the secondary players have a huge rebound since randall, rollins, and gunter can sit out when injured and not forced to play and/or force safeties into the CB spot. King and House have bring some much needed speed and talent. Defense sits at top 15, secondary at top 20 mark

only 30+ points? they need to do a lot better than that to win with the offense the packers are going to have next year
and to be fair the majority of the issues last year regarding secondary came from injuries. When you have 3 sophomore CBs with leg injuries and force them to play through it because of depth, it isn't going to be pretty. They had to pull safeties to play corner more than several games, which just thinned out the safety depth too

Incredibly. Det and Min aren't pushovers you can bank on sweeping anymore. Chi is a complete unknown but probably terrible so you get a few gimmies out of them.

Otherwise your entire D is shit outside of memethews who is getting old, slow, and less productive.

Really really likes women man is a great QB, no doubt, but the rest of the team is astoundingly average. Rodgers can't throw his way to a W every game without some help, which he sure as fuck isn't getting enough of this season to net 12 wins.

10-6 is much more realistic. It really comes down to how it happens with Det and Min. Both of those teams are capable of pulling the upset and sweeping the packers, even. Especially since Det doesn't have some bullshit winter game in your frozen hicktown hellhole.

To be fair the draft wasn't terrible. Just one too many RBs. WR is kinda iffy in the future. How much longer can Nelson play at an elite level? Stuff about Cobb, Adams is Adams. Geronimo is a based name and maybe he'll be one to step up next season. After Hyde left we have no depth in safety outside our starters, so drafting Jones makes sense after addressing our most glaring need first. Overall I'd give the draft a B-, but this is all before seeing what players like King will be like in the league.

There are just too many holes for Rodgers to keep things sailing smoothly imo. Ted keeps letting valuable linemen and DBs go in the offseason, the pass rush is still mediocre at best, and you're relying a lot on draftees to make your secondary less of a sieve. The offense will probably be alright with the current talent, but it's meaningless if the D can never get a stop.

Yeah Backpage still has a lot on the dating section, the whole dating section is just escorts. But the official escorts section got shut down, and the site owners are in legal trouble so the whole site might go down soon.
And the domination/fetish section got shut down too, and the "dating" section just has escorts mostly, the dominatrixes are just gone
eBackpage will hopefully grow and hopefully their owners aren't idiots. BP owners are on pimping charges etc because they actively promoted prostitution, instead of just sitting back and letting it happen

the packers that were 4-6 weren't the packers that ran the table. I'm not kidding. Nelson was coming off an ACL injury and took maybe 6 games to get to full speed. Eddie lacy went out on injury really early in the season, and there was a couple week stretch before they converted ty montgomery and acquired christine michael. It is no surprise that jared cook being out correlated with a 4-6 record and an 8 game win streak, he has been so important to the packer's offense during the playoff run. The packers started several special teams WRs and a few rookies, there was no consistency at the WR spot, and the run game was garbage. Stil averaged more than ~23 ppg for the first 12 games

>Det and Min aren't pushovers you can bank on sweeping anymore
did you even see MIN last year? when they went 5-0 with a new QB, the packers played it to the last possession. Look at the game near the end of the season, the packers destroyed their defense with 38 points, being the only team to break 300 passing yards against them. Vikings gonna get swept next year.
DET played a lot of their games close, but they didn't win a single game against any of the ~6 playoff teams they faced. Even when the packers were sucking, they put up 32 points against them (without ty montgomery or jared cook), still averaging ~23 ppg until about week 14. Packers then handily beat them 31-24 in week 17, not even close. DET could get maybe 1 upset tops
>Otherwise your entire D is shit
bottom-of-the-league-shit or anybody-who-isn't-top-5-shit? I would argue the latter

the only defensive player they lost is hyde, who Jones will hopefully be able to replace. They only added depth at CB. The defense is still wiener, but it isn't going to get worse. They sorted out the offense issues that plagued them the first 8 games of the season, and upgraded at the most important position for them last year: TE.
Look at the last 9 games they played, this is a team that can go 12-4 easily

keep telling yourself that. even if it is bad, it won't make as big of a difference as people think, plenty of teams thrive despite having a bad offensive line. It'll be even easier for a team with as much talent on offense as the Bengals have, and a QB in Dalton who has the quickest release in the league. All you have to do is spread the defense out with all of our weapons. Make them declare who's coming for the QB and who's dropping into coverage. The combination of Ross and Green will force safeties to stay back, thus limiting coverages. That will open things up for Eifert, Boyd, Gio, and Mixon.

Look at the trends of the last 5 years instead since that's what should be going by. dredd 3d keeps on coming on the sci fi channel every day and I have watched it at least 3 times this week.
good movie.

Am I the only person slightly worried about Trubisky? I mean if the bears are right then the only team in the conference without a franchise QB is gonna be the vikings.
and teams with franchise QBs just get to build through the draft every year once they have the position set to build around.

I mean it just didnt make sense and was seemingly such a dumb move. so much risk for that guy that Im actually worried about it being some crazy like a fox move and trubisky goes on to become a top 10 QB.

I have this unrelenting fear that the Lions are doomed to be like the Lewis Bengals and play good enough in the regular season and then die horrifically in the playoffs. The team has a real GM but I still think has some weird Indian burial curse that will always have the throat of the team and its fans.

10-6 with a road wildcard loss to the Eagles.

Raiders made it to the super bowl the next season. Most raiders fans blame the NFL not the pats
>>
>>75724424
this guy has it, it's not that his media circus doesn't matter, it's not that it's not possible for him to play good enough to get over that, the real problem is that getting his level of play along with his extra baggage just costs too much when added on with the pay and team status he's looking for. as a super cheap backup I think many more teams would say he's worth taking a look at.

but then if that happened SJWs would still have a problem with it, saying that being who he is devalues him as a person in the eyes of the NFL, yadda yadda.
>>
>>75724661
they made it to the super bowl on a go for broke scheme with a ton of veterans to try to compensate for what happened the season prior though, after they got beaten the whole core of their team basically was gone. quite a few with just retirements alone iirc

that combined with al davis getting old and senile plunged them immediately into a dark age for a decade. there are many raiders fans who believe that if the 01 run wasn't "stolen" from them, they would have till been a top-tier AFC franchise the whole time. as far as "what if" scenarios go though I call bullshit on that one because that wouldn't have stopped al from being crazy.
>>
>>75724683
Yup. It isn't just one thing. It's all of it combined. He was a Harbaugh/Frank Gore/run-option babby for a while. Then Harbaugh left and things deteriorated around him, exposing him for the meme he was (and still is). Middle. Being a fan of a team that makes the playoffs here and there and has a first or second round exit (sometimes an embarrassing one, like the Toxins vs the Chefs or Toxins vs the Pats), then you get frustrated to hell.

As a Toxinsfag it's frustrating as fuck to watch the Texans undeservedly get carried to the playoffs by their defense (especially the past three years) only to get blown out by clearly superior teams because the offense is as anemic as a bulimic. Watching a shit offense waste a good defense is fucking torture. The defense will gift the offense the ball multiple times, only to watch said offense find a way to fuck it up/give it right back. Or the defense will be constantly placed in shitty field position by the offense's incompetence in advancing the ball down the field and the special teams autism in coverage.

Essentially, the middle option is like being cockteased for days and days on end with no release in sight.

The last option is the worst temporarily if you choke horribly/embarrassingly like the Failcons did this past year. You can still get over it in time, though.

4 inter division games (rotates between divisions every year on a 3 year cycle)

Yes. This is how NFL scheduling works

6 games against your division, 1 home and 1 away vs each team
4 against another division in your conference, 2 home and 2 away
4 against another division in the other conference, 2 home and 2 away
2 games against teams in the remaining two divisions in your conference that finished in the same position in their conference your team did, 1 home and 1 away

So let's look at Cowboys who finished 1st in the NFC East

>NFC East
Giants x2
Redskins x2
Eagles x2

>AFC West
@Broncos
@Raiders
Chargers
Chiefs

>NFC West
@Cardinals

Patriots get to play Bills, Jets, and Jags twice a year so their final record always feels a bit inflated. They get to play the AFC West (tough) and the NFC South (medium). Steelers (tough) and Texans (medium). It's not an easy schedule as much as they are just a well run franchise.

Not even memeing here:

I genuinely believe the Browns will have 6, 7, or 8 wins this year.

The additions of Myles Garrett, Jabrill Peppers, Brantley, and Howard Wilson on defense will make Gregg Williams have a goddamn field day. Garrett will win DROTY.

Zeitler and Tretter on the O-line with Britt out at receiver are pretty damn good additions on offense, too. If Tretter can stay healthy, we'll have a top 5 O-line.

I think the team is headed in the right direction to make the playoffs and potentially win a Super Bowl in the next 10 years.
>>
>>75731025
I fully expect the Cowboys to do worse than their record last year. Teams will have a lot of tape of Dak and the secondary will have issues. I do think they will at least get 9 wins and be in contention for a playoff spot. As always injuries and 1-2 plays can decide a bunch.
>>
>>75731054
You're honestly overoptimistic. Yes, the team seems to be headed in the right direction, but it's going to be a 3-13 season. It just feels like 8 wins is one more year away.
>>
>>75731054
4-12 and you'll be happy with it

What tape.

What magical tape you keep talking about. The same tape that people have on literally every other QB?

You do realize Dak threw to all his recievers, never leaned heavily on one player, and the Cowboys offense is balanced as fuck right?

This isn't some rookie QB force feeding deep balls to a first option WR or some TE. This is a balanced, spread out offense that has a lot of good receivers that create space on the inside and physical in the redzone from deep with a substantial catch radius.

And the Cowboys changed their plays multiple times as Dak was limited at first and they allowed him to do more plays from the play book as time went on.

After the second Giants game they completely changed their pass play catalog and Dak proceeded to have one of the most efficient games all time against the Bucs.

fellow IE resident here, can confirm. sure, some people just picked a team and ran with it, and others just picked their dad's team, but there's a decent amount of people that moved here from other regions so it's a huge mixture of many fandoms. I mean when you think about it, by the guidelines of bandwagoning, all kids start off as bandwagoners anyways. it's just that if you stick with them for long enough, don't stop supporting them, and don't switch teams, you aren't anymore. so this area has a lot of fans of many different teams since there wasn't a "team of our own".

except for the raiders fandom I guess but that's different, a whole nother ball of wax.

This guy is legit the best QB in the draft because he's already mentally ready to be a champion, just needs years for his skill level to improve even more, where some guys have skill but are far from mentally ready, which is were most top QB prospects fail and can't grow.

its mainly the fans that I don't want to be associated with. I grew up in Indianapolis through the first half of the Manning era and those guys were not near the level of obnoxious as steelers fans. Most treat their super bowl wins as personal feats and then I know of several "die hard" steelers fans who will turn the game off if they start to lose and will wait until someone tells them they are winning before they put it back on.

The worst is that they think everyone on the team is a saint. Most other fanbases can acknowledge dirty players on their team but not them. I've seen enough steelers games since living here to see that they are dirty. Maybe not the dirtiest, but dirty. That would be fine if A) they even just acknowledge they are dirty, embrace it or B) stop throwing fucking hissy fits every time something dirty happens to them

I think they have some great pieces, sure, but so do the Lions. Neither team is going to be fantastic this year and I'm a from birth lions fan. I think they both end about 500 on the year.

Jesus christ why even bring up Brady?

Brady will go down as the better QB and I have no reason to think it should be any other way. I do think if Brady were on any other team, he would not have had the success he did, but Peyton would have been as good as he ended up being if he went to most any team

>>Tyler Boyd (a white guy trapped in a black's body, one of the smartest players in football, elite measurables, incredible upside)>John Ross (one of the fastest and most explosive players in football)

If A were true, they wouldn't have drafted B.
