>>
>>75678162
Yeah it's hilarious. They're claiming it's because they only gave him 15 days to negotiate the GGG fight but they knew full well after beating Cotto they'd have to do it.

This might well be part of it too >>75677723 the WBC mandate VADA testing these days so finding an excuse to not have that belt on the line might be something they're after if they think they need a bit of extra help for the GGG fight.

Was really excited for Parker/Hughie ffs, might still watch this. Should end pretty quickly.
>>
>>75678957
>Was really excited for Parker/Hughie ffs

It'll still happen, and probably in the UK now. BT fucked up by underestimating the support Duco could get from the government but they won't let it happen again, they need something like this as a marquee fight for them this year.
>>
>>75678173
With the amount of weight Canelo cuts, I wouldn't be surprised if he uses diuretics.
>>
>>75679203

That's assuming he'll get another chance anytime soon. Parker could fight Wilder and it seemed like the WBO didn't believe the back injury
>>
>>75679246
The WBO and Frank have a good relationship and he's still mandatory. They probably planned out how they were going to play it before they pulled out.
>>
>>75679243
Yeah exactly, it's funny how he's suddenly had this revelation of hating the WBC a couple of months after they've started enforcing mandatory VADA for title fights.
>>
>>75679295

Parker doesn't care about that fight and unification takes priority over mandatory. And if he wants money Bellew pays more so the WBO might tell Hughie to do a final eliminator as he hasn't fought in over a year now.
>>
>>75679321
Don't see that chain of events as likely Tbh. Hearn clearly wants the Wilder fight for AJ because of he's American and because of his relationship with Showtime, so if I had to bet I'd say the far more likely scenario is that Bellew fights Wilder to build his profile over here to build towards AJ.

The bigger deal is that as I said the WBO are completely in bed with Frank, if the unification doesn't happen you can bet they won't mess him around by forcing eliminators.
>>
>>75679351

If Eddie thinks Tyson Fury is going to relapse or be banned and will never come back then it would make sense for him to try and make Wilder vs Bellew while AJ does the Klitschko rematch to set up Wilder in April. But I'm surprised Bellew is so keen on it as the size difference really doesn't suit him, Parker is the perfect fight for both Wilder and Bellew. If it does happen like that then maybe Parker could do Hughie and Haye if he wins.
>>
>>75679401
Not sure Bellew really gives a shit about winning at this point, he just wants as much money as possible between his next fight and a Haye rematch. To make the kind of money he made against Haye again he'll need that kind of a talker and Parker is about as exciting as a sheet of cardboard. I don't honestly think he has the slightest chance of beating either so that's what it'll come down to.

The Fury thing may just take a bit longer, it'll could be his other fight in 2018. He'll probably look like shit for quite a while, doubt he'll be ready for a mega fight in under a year.

Larry Holmes was about 70 and coming off back to back losses, Berbick proved how limited he was with losses to some complete shit barely after Tyson and Tucker had a completely padded record, the Wilder of his day.

His only genuinely impressive win was Spinks prior to Douglas, and he went on to show that he wasn't even nearly the best of his generation after that loss. Good fighter but not at all worthy of the hype.

James Smith, Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tucker, Tyrell Biggs, Tony Tubbs and Donovan Ruddock were all quality fighters. Tyson's win over old Holmes is better than AJ's win over old Wlad as well considering Holmes went on to beat Mercer.

Tyson was hyped because he was a monster, no heavyweight was like him

>>
>>75683983
Most of those guys lost to some complete shit around the same age they lost to Tyson, call it a much better era if you want but within that era those wins weren't that remarkable at all. Again Spinks and maybe at a stretch Holmes were good, but he's not a top 10 all time heavyweight and lost to a good number of people better than him overall.

Just get bored of it being the go-to comparison people use when there are usually better ones.

I read a great article yesterday by a seasoned boxing analyst. He said Parker wasn't up to scratch to face the like of Joshua or Wilder but said if he keeps progressing he could make himself a legitimate challenger. He said the ever improving Joshua is likely to be Champ for some time considering he has no competition. He also said Wilder likes to call out the big names but then fight cans. I agree with everything he said.
>>
>>75684772
Sounds about right. Don't know how much better Parker can get, but Wilder is Wilder and needs to take a big fight before he gets smashed by a nobody. I'd rather see Joshua-Wilder first so he gets a little more time to develop if he can.

I wonder if these people lack any historical perspective. Tons of stuff in the Bible isn't even remotely adaptable to modern society, and yet Christians and Jews get along just fine in it.

>Tons of stuff in the Bible isn't even remotely adaptable to modern society
Which is why Christian countries are overwhelmingly secular. Not to mention many people are becoming agnostic/atheist.

>Christians and Jews get along just fine in it.
Do they though? And Christianity has the New Testament, which is inherently less violent. The Quran only gets MORE violent.
>>
>>75699698
I think Muslims will adjust as they live in secular societies.

>Do they though?
Sure. Where do they not? They just ignore all the stuff that's too inconvenient for them. Muslims will figure out a theological perspective that lets them ignore all the inconvenient teachings as well. I've never read the Quran so I can't comment on comparative violence levels.
>>
>>75699723
>I think Muslims will adjust as they live in secular societies
That's not happening though.

Sure they are. I know lots of Muslims who are perfectly fine productive members of society. There are like 3 million of them here, and we haven't had too many issues.
>>

>I know lots of Muslims who are perfectly fine productive members of society.
Anecdotes.

>There are like 3 million of them here,
and we haven't had too many issues.
Yeah you have. Just look at the percentage of Islamic inspired terrorist attacks, they overwhelming are overrepresented.

The higher the number that they make up of demographics, the more issues there are.
>>
>>75699770
>The higher the number that they make up of demographics, the more issues there are.

The number of Islamic terrorists compared to others is higher, which I don't dispute. The vast vast majority of Muslims seem to have adapted well enough to secular society though.

>>
>>75700068

Golovkin is an all time top 10 middleweight but some people think he could go through everybody from Middle to Light heavyweight. Before the Jacobs fight you even had the odd numpty asking how he would fare against Anthony Joshua
>>
>>75700082
GGG refused to fight Ward at super middleweight, only offering a catchweight because he knew full well Ward had to practically kill himself to even make super middle by the end. The only way that fight would have realistically happened was at 168 and GGG didn't want any of it.
>>
>>75693672
Jones is a freak. He did say though that he partied before the fights to reduce the pressure on himself though, he saw it as a ready made excuse if he loses. Still beat everyone he faced at their own game (except getting his elbow caved in by Hamill's head).

The funny one at the minute is the vast bulk of people on IFL suggesting Kugan should never offer Hearn an interview again because he couldn't get him into Joshua Klitschko and that Hearn can't survive without his publicity.

Forgetting that it was a co-promotion so Eddie couldn't do shit, it was never going to be fixed once Kugan went on a childish twitter rant anyway and that Matchroom can survive without IFL but the reverse isn't true. Klitschko has a rematch clause, it will happen November so Pulev is getting gifted a title. Joshua has improved with every fight and there are better fights out there for him.
>>
>>75700554
I think his technique is still pretty basic. He needs more experience to get into the habit of constantly moving his head and to learn how to set up his shots with feints, probing punches and lateral movement. He was a latecomer to the sport and that's why he appears a bit robotic and telegraphed. Klitschko looked like a slicc African American in comparison
>>
>>75700477
not the worst choice desu, he had a war with Wlad so an easyish match up is fine. Pulev would still be 2nd (maybe 3rd) best fighter that Joshua has faced. Meanwhile, let Wlad recover for a rematch or get Wilder/Parker/Whyte ready for a title shot.
>>
>>75700633
He does improve with every fight and that's why I want him to keep having three fights per year, because I still think he's some way off his ceiling. It's not going to happen now but if it were up to me he'd face Pulev in August/September and then the Klitschko rematch in December/January. Hearn saying that Joshua is only fighting twice per year from now on seems to mean that they consider him the finished article and the development phase is now over (until he takes a defeat, I suppose)
>>
>>75700633

I dont think the rematch happens, i think Wlad retires. He doesnt want any of AJ, sure he dropped AJ but aside from that one punch Joshua took everything else Wlad has to offer pretty easily. While Joshua has Wlad in trouble a bunch of times
>>
>>75700682
Wlad probably believes he can win a rematch. He still has three or so fights remaining on his massive contract with that German TV station

I agree that Joshua wins easier next time though. His trainers will tell him to forget about fighting Wlad on the outside and just get into mid and close range and land hooks and uppers
>>
>>75700682

The noise coming out at the moment is that he feels ok with how it went and RTL thought it was the best fight of his career. For £15 million I think he will take it.

It means you're moving backwards, and inviting your opponent to come forward into the space to close the distance. Essentially it's a counter punching style. It's more defensive as you're looking for the other guy to be the aggressor and for you to pick him off as he comes forward.

>>75702349
I'll try and find some examples in a second but basically an older style of boxing was to have your weight a little more toward your rear foot. This allowed more distance between you and your opponent, even if your front feet were close to theirs.

This gives you the advantage of delivering brutal rights, albeit slower, and also allowing you to "hit without being hit" thanks to superior distance control and almost always having your head naturally off center.

However, I'd say in the past 20 years or so, a lot of boxers fight leaning forward. This gives the illusion of being within range to hit their face. Boxers that use this stance usually have very good reaction speed and can pull away and counter quickly (see Roy Jones and Mayweather). You can't generate as much power with rear hand attacks but if you have good head movement you can counter almost anything.

Having said all that, good fighters can change their stance seamlessly, so might be moot points here.

This pic is an example of a forward-ish stance

>Speak to Weldon for five minutes, and you'll hear that word 10 times. Speak to him for an hour and, well, you'll lose count. Weldon is a fiery Texan with strong opinions. But when it comes to the mechanics of boxing, he also happens to be a master craftsman.

>His greatest criticism of what's taught by USA Boxing? Weight on the front foot.

>Counter intuitively, a fighter with his weight like this is not in attack mode. Quite the opposite. Once your weight is on your front foot, there's only one direction you can move with any speed -- backward. You transfer your weight from front to back to avoid an opponent.

>Weight on your front foot makes your jab harmless and your cross a mere poke. You turn the sweet science from "hit and don't get hit" to "don't get hit, don't get hit ... and then maybe hit."

>There's only one punch than can be thrown with power from this position. The counter left hook -- which requires dropping the heel of your back foot. And as it happens, there's only one man who has made a great career of this approach: Roy Jones.

>But see, Jones was a once-in-a-generation talent. He also had a great technical foundation that he bypassed in the pros when he got bored with opponents. Jones' approach worked for Jones, in other words. It has worked for no one since.

Barrera. His early wars got me into the sport and watching his style evolve over the years got me hooked.

>>75703234
The crazy part is that this is the most basic principle in boxing. Having ~60% of your weight on your back foot while in stance is the first thing most people learn when they join a boxing gym. The problem is that having your weight on your front foot is much more natural and easier stance for most people to adopt, I did it too when I first started, and why wouldn't someone do it he can away with it?
Obviously different coaches and different schools of boxing might alter the basic boxing stance lightly but in most of the world it remains the same. Fighting on the front foot is much more comfortable if you are an aggressive boxer. Here are 3 boxers that have more of a textbook boxing stance: Wlad Klitschko, Liborio Solis and Antonio Demarco.
>>

Correction, Wlad doesn't have a "textbook boxing stance" but he does box with the weight on his rear foot a lot (maybe even more than he should).

I don't think we have enough information to really assess whether Golovkin would hold up against the greats or not. He may never get the kind of fight that can give us a clear picture of his abilities, but he deserves credit for being so dominant for a long time. Frustrating career.

Sure he was close to winning himself but I'm just not sure if he wants or needs another fight. If he gets dusted quicker by AJ, which a possibility, then it will overshadow his performance in the first fight.

He probably should retire and AJ should move on to Wilder/Fury.

Those last couple pounds can be brutal if you have a hard time making weight and Chavez hasn't been below 168 in years. He could be in for a very tough weight cut even if he's been training and not wake n' baking in his pink panties.
>>
>>75710585

>>75710391
One of his best wins. If Canelo keeps beating everyone that's put it front of him it only makes Floyd look more dominant, which is exactly why he's consistently backing him to beat/KO Golovkin.

If he looks to be in shape it could be a great fight - I'm picking Alvarez but underestimating Chavez would be a huge mistake. Totally agree that not having his normal size advantage may be a problem.

Come to think of it, I believe Chavez has missed weight on purpose before...was it Brian Vera maybe? He came in way over against somebody and just bullied the shit out of him. Weigh-in should produce something interesting tomorrow.

(Canelo later said at his round-table with reporters that he will pocket the money directly.) “One pound, one $million,” Chavez said. Chavez’s attorney, Guadalupe Valencia expanded on this, saying there is a $1 million penalty for any additional pound that he is over after 165 so if he were to come in at 165.6, he would be penalized $2 million. Chavez, who said he currently weighed around 180 pounds, shrugged his shoulders and smiled.

The largest person Canelo has ever fought with was Angulo, who came in at 174.

Canelo's largest weight was also recorded at 174, but then he stopped doing fight night weighs (so it could possibly be higher than that).

Not having to cut an extra 10.5 pounds, Canelo might come in at 180 as well, but it's doubtful he'd step on the scale before the fight. Chavez Jr might, and his team says ~180 would be his target. Which makes sense, since he's been hover 164.5 for weeks now.

You know whats worse than being a casual? Being a pseudo boxing expert. This usually consists of bigging up Tyson Fury despite only seeing him fight Wlad and Chisora. Saying how AJ is a paper champ that would get clowned by Fury when he comes back.
>>
>>75715785

It's funny how butthurt Brits get about anyone criticizing their favorite big black guy.

Fury beat Wlad much more cleanly and easily. AJ was heading towards a possible SD or MD. Hell, perhaps even a loss.

And Fury beat Wlad in Wlad's home town.

AJ was close to losing a decision in AJ's home town.

I like both Fury and AJ. I just don't like it when people hail Fury as the second coming of Ali. Sure Fury beat Wlad easier but AJ had a more emphatic win. Also AJ is a finisher and Fury isn't, Fury needed to fight the perfect fight as he isn't much of a puncher. AJ was losing IMO (was up on the judges scorecards though) until he got the stoppage but he did get it.

Anyway Tyson needs to get his shit together and come back, would be a shame if we never see him vs AJ.

>>

Emphatic means losing on scorecards and getting knocked the fuck down?

You know what I don't like? Casuals hailing a paper champion as the next coming of Jesus Christ when he's never beaten anyone aside from a 41 year old corpse.

Who the fuck has AJ beaten to deserve this hype?

Breazeale? Zero fucking wins aside from getting his ass handed to him by a 44? year old Mansour until a lucky punch ended it.
Martin? I won't bother explaining this to anyone.
Whyte? Whyte had beaten fucking NO ONE. The only justification for this match was AJ lost to him in ams. And now Whyte's only win is a SD over fucking Chisora that could've gone either way.

And now Wlad? Fuck, man. You know how many champions over 40 have regained a title? In the history of boxing? One. Foreman. And he was getting absolutely killed on the scorecards when he did it.

People don't respect how severe the effects of aging are. There's a reason Floyd retired at 38.
>>
>>75716036
To be fair, besides Chisora,Wlad and arguably Cunningham, Fury hasn't beaten anyone of note either.
>>

Fury isn't exciting to watch AJ is. Joshua beat a good Wlad, his age is irrelevant. Joshua also nearly knocked out Fury in the first round of sparring when he was a novice so you can bet it will be a close fight.
>>
>>75710214
The suggestion was that it happen after Lemieux, part of the suggested deal was than an interim fight was fine. GGG's team started talking about how a 50/50 split was't fair because a Kazakh who can't speak English was the A side and they turned it down.

There is literally NO universe where Ward is willing to fight everyone he's fought at super middle, and then Kovalev at light heavy but somehow wants to duck GGG. GGG on the other hand seems to like turning down offers for the hardest fights despite apparently being so avoided.

>>
>>75716325
Using the outcome of a sparring match to justify the outcome of a pro match is retarded.

You're an idiot for even posting it.
>>
>>75715821
Not him, but I think there are very good reasons to believe Fury vs AJ wouldn't be a jab fest easily won by Fury.

Styles make fights, Fury has proven he's got at least a little glass. If Cunningham can knock him down AJ certainly can. Not to say Fury can't be absolutely perfect as he was against Wlad but I'm sure Joshua would't sit back and wait for openings in the same way. He'll try and turn it into a brawl since that will be his only chance of winning, he's proven he's decent at negating the clinch with those Wlad uppercuts too.

Obviously there's a lot of hype there too because he won at London 2012 so literally everyone knows who he is and he's got a lot of flashy KOs against bums, but I think it's a very interesting fight I'd love to see.
>>
>>75716325
Fuck. He's probably going to want to "get rounds" too
>>
>>75716362
Did anyone in this thread even say Fury would handle AJ? Fury is fat now and will probably step into the ring with Joshua only after he spends most of his money but even if Fury was in the best shape of his life it'd still be a close fight.
>>
>>75716386
Dunno, just been thinking about it at work since I'm bored so wanted an excuse to type out my thoughts.
>>

>>
>>75716386
>>75716410

I'll say it. Fury would handle AJ.

Currently Fury is just banned and refuses to address it. He's not out of the game.

The coke isn't a big deal. Plenty of athletes do it.

The weight gain? He'll go on some PEDs and it will be fine.
>>
>>75716437
>The weight gain? He'll go on some PEDs and it will be fine.
doubt.
>>
>>75716437
I think I'd have him winning, but I don't think it'd be a complete domination in any sense. Considering AJ's size (and that his style isn't like Wlad's) he can force the issue a lot more than some of Fury's other opponents. Maybe a Fury points win but AJ gets a knockdown at some point would be my guess.
>>
>>75716437

The coke was just to cover up the nandrolone charge
>>
>>75716442
If he was older and he'd been doing it a lot I'd say the weight thing might be a huge problem, but Fury's a baby in heavyweight terms and hasn't made a habit of this. I imagine part of the reason he's training in Marbella is to be left alone by anyone wanting to check on what he's using to cut weight.
>>
>>75716349

How on earth is it retarded? Being in the ring with somebody you're going to fight is the best way to prepare. I would give Fury a very good chance of winning but Joshua is going to keep improving and he knows he can drop anyone out there
>>
>>75716468

Because boxers aren't completely retarded? No one goes full bore in sparring. No one would reveal everything in sparring.

And most sparring stories are horseshit anyway. Like every week there's some new retarded story about a new guy guy/nobody pummeling a champion.

Fury himself claimed a light heavy dropped him multiple times in sparring.

>>75716601
Still doesn't change the fact that you frequently spar in very different ways to how you actually fight. It's like a football team losing in pre-season against some minnows because they're trying out a new formation, nobody would take that seriously either.

>>
>>75716644

Maybe in a longer training camp like the training camp Joshua and Wilder went to with Klitschko. I remember Wilder saying on the Sky broadcast that Klitschko was always trying to set up the right in the camp he went to so they would of got something out of it.

The Joshua vs Fury sparring story was this:

Round 1: Joshua rocks Fury and Fury is hanging on the ropes, trainer tells him to get off the ropes, Fury says oh yeah sorry.
Round 2: Fury gets the jab going and wins the round
Round 3: Trainer tells Joshua to stop looking for big punches and box, it's a close round. Fury wants to carry on but they stop
>>
>>75716713
Right. So when you're practicing new tactics you can look bad. You don't spar to win against the fighter you're facing necessarily, you spar to practice your game plan for an upcoming fight
>>
>>75716346
wlad looked more dangerous than he has in a long time last saturday

he would have beaten any of the other champs imo
>>
>>75717163
He was #OBSESSED
>>
>>75717163
He looked just as good against Pulev and there are only 2 opponents between him and Joshua. He looks good when people bum rush him, doesn't look so good when people don't let him do what he wants like Jennings or Fury, funny that.
>>
>>75717163
>Fury makes Wlad look like shit
"Fury sucks! He beat a shitty Wlad!"
>AJ makes Wlad look good
"AJ DEFEATED A PRIME ATG."

Okay.

Or maybe the shittier you fight, the better your opponent looks.
>>
>>75717296
AJ would KO any heavyweight boxer of any era including this one

stop hating
>>
what time is the weigh in
I wana see how skinny chavez looks
>>
>>75717296

Most people here don't think that though. Klitschko was up on points when he got stopped so he's not shot, he lost to the two best heavyweights out there - a tall and awkward boxer with good footwork and a big combination puncher. That Wlad would of beat Parker and Pulev
>>
>>75717317

AJ sucks shit and you're a bandwagon hopping causal.
>>
>>75717335
lmao he knocked out the most dominant heavyweight in almost a century

he is GOAT, accept it anon
>>
>>75717376

He KOd a 41 year old corpse.

Wlad looked like shit two years ago against a literal janitor.
>>
>>75717395
time will prove you wrong

meanwhile I will stay humble for my boy
>>
>>75717406

Time has shown fighters can never sustain things past 40.

I want you to look through Wlad's records.

For 11 years, Wlad rarely lost a single round. In those 11 years he NEVER lost more than two rounds (by averaging scorecards).

That includes fights against so many phenomenons. Povetkin. Haye. Pulev. Byrd. Ibragimov. Etc.

But when he turned 39? Against a fucking janitor?

That record was broken.

Just go look at history of champions fighting for the belt after 35: >>75716346

Age matters.
>>
>>75717461
age.... is just a number
>>
>>75681964
kek. i love that channel. deserves more credit for the work he puts in
>>
>>75717461

Fury and Joshua are harder fights than 6'2 Povetkin and 6'3 Haye. Wlad is at a point where he still beats 98% of the division but had 2 fights that were hard for different reasons. Attributing it all to age takes away from Fury and Joshua, the truth is in between.
>>
>>75708888
fuuuuuck I'm hyped man, it's gonna be like haye - valuev
>>
>>75717481

>Holyfield record before 37:
36 wins, 3 losses
>Holyfield record between 37 and 42:
2 wins, 5 losses
>>
>>75717558

Holyfield isn't Klitschko. Everybody knows you decline with age but ask yourself who wins in a fight between Klitschko now and

Povetkin
Pulev
Parker
Haye
Breazeale
Takam
Ruiz
>>
>>75717527
>Wlad is at a point where he still beats 98% of the division

Yeah. It's just a coincidence two brand new ATG, HOFers showed up at right this moment.

No chance he's just fucking old and had to lose to challengers at some point.

I swear, you people are so fucking stupid.
>>
>>75717582
wlad who fought AJ was at least a top 10 heavyweight at the moment. AJ isn't the new Ali, but it was definitely a good win although being overrated. Wlad from 5 years ago sparks that AJ in 3 rds
>>
>>75717582

If you think the likes of Pulev, Carlos Takam are beating Klitschko now then you're an idiot. Britain has been building it's boxing up for years so no it's not surprising we produce 2 good fighters at once.
>>
>>75717577
>Povetkin
Povetkin win easily.
>Pulev
I have zero idea what's going on with Pulev right. Might be just as shot as Wlad.
>Parker
Probably a Parker win. The Ruiz fight was a real shocker though.
>Haye
I always hated Haye just like Joshua. He's now almost as shot as Wlad. The Haye who fought Wlad before would beat this Wlad though.
>Breazeale
This guy is top 50 at best.
>Takam
Yeah, good chance.
>Ruiz
Top 40 maybe.
>>
>>75717632

Your opinions are dog shit. Klitschko beats them all because he proved he can still box, he ate a massive uppercut and stayed on his feet that the likes of Parker can't deliver and he would have a height and reach advantage against them.
>>
>>75717650

Yeah. It's just a coincidence two brand new ATG, HOFers showed up at right this moment.

>But but but british fighters!

Fuck you.
>>
>>75717666
ita hilarious how butthurt you are

wlad would dominate ANY active HW at the moment besides anthony the young lion joshua

you really didn't like the taste of humble pie
>>
Joseph Parker is the most overrated heavyweight in the world right now. Guy went close decision with Andy Ruiz, I actually had Ruiz winning that fight. Total hype job I think H Fury would have schooled him
>>
>>75717700

I fucking knew Joshua would win. I fucking bet on it.

What I can't fucking stand is people acting like beating a fucking corpse means something.

Honestly it's disgusting seeing Wlad's achievements and legacy being dragged through the mud like this.

The guy reigns for 11 years undefeated, taking on all challengers. Always disciplined. Always ready. Never a close fight. And now his body finally fails him and this Nigerian drug dealer steals all his glory and fame.

Disgusting.

Remember. A he fought a fucking janitor two years ago. And this janitor cost Wlad more rounds than Haye, Pulev, Povetkin, and fucking everyone else in those 11 years.
>>
>>75717741
its not AJ's fault he was too young 5 or 11 years ago, he'd have beat wlad then too

he is too strong and too powerful
>>
>>75717762

You British people really get a hard on for big black guys don't you?

I'm curious. Does it bother you at all a BBC sports writer said he tried to fight for Nigeria in the 2012 Olympics?

and?
>>
>>75717839

So this is the modern British man and you're fine with it?

He's ethnically Nigerian and wants to fight for Nigeria, not the country that provided for him?
>>
>>75717796
>goes life and death with an OAP
>"U-UK's the new capital of boxing"

lmao
>>
>>75717850
I like how you havn't even denied that your major gripe against him has nothing to do with boxing but his race

you're sad and wrong, good day

>>75717862
nice proxy jesse
>>
How comes British boxers never beat actual good boxers unless they are past it?

>m-muh number of champions

they're all paper champs
>>
>>75717867

False. I am indeed very racist, but there are plenty of black boxers I am very fond of.

AJ's a piece of shit though.
>>
>>75717879

Brook beat Porter. Frampton beat Santa Cruz. Khan beat Maidana. Froch beat Abraham, Dirrell, Bute. Lewis beat Briggs, Holyfield, Vitali.
>>
QUICK!!! You have 10 seconds to find a better card than this all year past or future

Protip: You LITERALLY can't since no other card has had 4 world titles on the line

http://pulse.ng/sports/boxing/nigeria-didnt-reject-anthony-joshua-according-to-local-coach-id6604644.html

Been discounted already by the way.

>Konyegwachi, however, dismissed the claim stating that the 27-year-old never wanted to represent Nigeria.

>“I am surprised and shocked about this talk of Anthony Joshua being turned down by the Nigeria Boxing Federation for the London 2012 Olympics,” Konyegwachi told newsmen on Friday, April 28.

>“For the records, Joshua only sparred with my boxers in London, he was already in the Great Britain team.

>“Since we were all together, we just decided to conduct a sparring session which Joshua was involved in. So, for me, this talk about him not given the opportunity to represent Nigeria is nonsense, some people are just being mischievous.”

Considering Quinlan is one of the fighters for the UBO title on that card it would make sense, I think I can speak for everyone ITT that we want to see the rematch.
