In terms of memorizing the players, it jsut comes with time; doesn't help that over the year you're gonna see certain good players traded, slumping players sent to AAA, and guys in AAA called up.

Lineup doesn't usually change that much, just the pitcher spot and sometimes the catcher spot. Starters will sit out if they need rest or another player has better stats against the type of pitcher they're facing.
