He still played at a high level last year as a 16 game starter. They tried to get rid of him but Lelito and Kelemete were so shit in pre season they brought him back as soon as the Seahawks cut him which I still have no idea why they did considering the state their line was in

Basically he's the best one year replacement for TJ Lang you could hope for. That being if Spriggs doesn't earn the starting job

Should the NFL have the Pats and Falcons redo the Super Bowl in case it was a big fluke?

No disrespect to the pats, I'm a firm believer that New England beating them is a huge fluke and robs the Falcons of truly accomplishing what their capable of. I've spent the last few months in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire regular season watching the Falcons play great football it's just not fair.

If the Falcons lose again I will face that the Pats deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to the Falcons and the NFL.

"From a personal standpoint, I've spent weeks in cities and towns," Brooks said. "I've dressed up [in disguise] and hung out at local taverns trying to catch the player being out and about to see how he acts. I've gone to local restaurants and asked bartenders and servers if they've seen a guy in there, how was he, how he interacted with the wait staff, What do you know about him? And I don't think that's uncommon. If you're going to invest in a player, you need to know his background, and it's worth spending a few days in his hometown to get a real assessment of what he is."

Gabriel -- who once worked for a head coach who wanted to know what his players were doing in their downtime and volunteered to enlist his own daughters, who attended some of the same bars and restaurants, in a small espionage network -- talks about it with a stunning casualness.

"Any way you can find out about anything, you gotta do it," he said.

>“I continue to hear that Mitchell Trubisky is square in consideration and may turn out to be the No. 1 pick,” Schefter said. “Now I know everyone thinks Myles Garrett’s going to be the pick, and I will not be surprised if that’s the case [Thursday] night. not really true, the giants line has been bad the last couple years. eli is just good at getting the ball out quickly, and he still takes some shots.

nothing compared to what ben takes ofc, but their playstyles are also very different. i'd give eli 2-3 more years of starter level QB play.

john ross is cool, i'd be fine with him.

my biggest criteria for a "successful" draft this year would be getting a top 15 prospect, at a position where the draft isn't really deep. between sidney jones' ACL and conley's rape charges, i would be horrified if we picked a CB that isn't lattimore in the 1st. same with the running backs; though i do like things about mccaffrey and cook, the class is so deep that i wouldn't want anyone but fournette in the 1st.

corey davis/john ross are distinctly a tier above the other WRs in the class not named mike williams, therefore either of them would be a great selection with value at 14. same with reuben foster, since i don't think any other ILB but reddick/cunningham deserves to go in the first. i don't want derek barnett or charles harris or even malik mcdowell, because this draft is full of DL talent, not to mention that we have a pretty great line as it is.

trading up is actually my most preferred option for a couple of reasons. i think barring some browns insanity no more than one QB will go in the 13 picks before the eagles, so even with the amount of talent in this draft the eagles could be left out in the cold at 14 if no one reaches on their picks. trading up for a guy like marshon lattimore or jamal adams would be costly, but you would get a top 5 prospect who would immediately transform a secondary that is the weak point of the entire team. i'd rather sacrifice a little depth in the draft to get a bonafide blue chip player in the top 10 instead of waiting to see what we can grab at 14.

As a fellow Eaglesfag I think you're really overrating Lattimore honestly, yeah he's incredibly athletic but his technique is nowhere near Conley's

Also at this point I'm convinced whoever they get at 14 will be a boring DE/Cook/McCaffrey so I'll be happy with anyone else

i like conley, but he covered the opposite team's worse receiver a lot of the time, and benefitted from a stacked secondary. i think it's kind of telling that his hype as a top 15-20 guy really only skyrocketed once sidney jones got injured. his technique might be better than lattimore's, but i think lattimore's ceiling is much higher. also he's a raper, so y'know.

i agree with the second bit, i'm really worried that they'll get too complacent. if they draft charles harris i'll want to kms

Any team that doesn't have a franchise QB should take a QB somewhere in the draft every year. Usually in the 3rd or 4th, because you might get lucky and find some gold. Worst case scenario you get a concussion backup and practice squad body.
I don't mind them taking a QB, but the Browns have much bigger issues on the team than their QB.

Show me a winning team that has a bad defensive line.

In principle, you can never go wrong focusing on building a defensive line. Look at what Gettleman did with the Panthers.

so draft picks are unproven but wentz was somehow proven before he even got on the field?

retarded, and Im not saying they should draft Tribusky either but to say the browns lost the wentz trade when they havent even drafted players yet and wentz is not proven to be a franchise qb is ridiculous.

>>
>>75522031
I'd say this would be a good year for the team to take one, but the QBs aren't that great. Bolstered the O-Line with a bunch of FAs, and they're in a good spot to get a great TE on top of fixing up the Defense.

>>75522177
The Browns had zero interest in Wentz before the draft, and actually fired scouts that told them to get Wentz over Goff. They have publicly expressed interest in Trubisky many times. It's ok to admit you're wrong.
>>
>>75522078

Ealy was traded away because he was lazy and not playing up to his potential.

>le "Gettleman is a bad GM because he let a front-seven babby 29 year old cornerback who only had one good season walk" meme

Gettleman has spent high draft picks on Kawann Short, Star Lolulelei, and Vernon Butler, gave Jared Allen the chance to contend for a Super Bowl, re-signed Charles Johnson to a team-friendly contract and brought Julius Peppers back to finish his career in Carolina. Dude has a fucking hard-on for defensive linemen. Calls them "Hog Mollies"
>>
Threadly reminder police12 is an eagles homer retard
>>
The Browns are still fixing the team from like, 3 FO's back. They're having to completely rebuild the bases of the team, and drafting a QB high would not have equated to more wins.
>>
>>75522188
I know that but just because you need a qb doesn't mean there's a franchise one in the draft

no reason to pass on myles garret to reach for a qb when you can get another qb with the same chance of succeeding in the second round.

Learn what value is

Only one Myles garret in the draft, about 5 qbs who are 50/50 to succeed and not all of them are going to go past the browns #12 pick.

>>
>>75521609

>>
>>75522374

>>
>>75522218

The Browns' decision to pass on Carson Wentz in the draft combined with the rookie's sterling performance against them in Week 1, a potential season-ending injury to Browns starter Robert Griffin III and comments from Browns official Paul DePodesta intimating the Browns didn't believe Wentz would be a "top-20 quarterback" have created a tempest in Cleveland. As it turns out, not everyone involved in scouting quarterbacks in Cleveland before the 2016 draft was in agreement.

According to numerous sources with knowledge of the situation, several of the more seasoned scouts and evaluators the Browns parted with prior to the draft -- an unusual time to release such employees -- actually preferred Wentz to quarterback Jared Goff and believed him to be the greater pro prospect. It was clear to many in the organization dating back to December, when the Browns held intense draft meetings, that the newly-empowered analytics department, soon to be spearheaded by DePodesta, strongly preferred Goff. And new coach Hue Jackson and his offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton, were not high on Wentz but prized Goff, sources said, and made that clear to the rest of the organization.

wow Cleveland actually killed a man's will to live.

>Browns LT Joe Thomas said Wednesday that he is experiencing short-term memory loss, but he is "willing to accept" the risks of continuing his career.

Thomas has famously never missed an NFL snap and has no documented concussions in his history. "Short-term memory loss -- hard times remembering things that have happened recently," said Thomas, 32. "Like, you walk to the grocery store and you're like, 'Huh, I can't remember what I needed to get.'" Thomas said his hope is medicine will "continue to improve" to a point where he can be treated should he develop any sort of dementia related to football.

Yes anon, I'm sure it's much more likely that Hue Jackson personally fired any scout that they had that had even a positive thought about Carson Wentz. It's definitely not because they weren't his guys, and it's such rare form that a new FO will bring in new scouts. Yup. Totally batty.
>>
>>75522539
>"Like, you walk to the grocery store and you're like, 'Huh, I can't remember what I needed to get.'"

Sounds like simply being forgetful to me. If you can't remember shit you need to get at the grocery store, just make a list. Pen and paper, smartphone, whatever.

If he's forgetting actually important short term things - say, stuff related to his job - like play calls and blocking assignments (from the time the QB relays the info to when he lines up at the line of scrimmage), then I'd be more worried.

>>
>>75524332
i memeing his saying dude and agreeing with you, i'm just pointing out how even if what Sapp says is true, it's still impressive for Garret, if a DL makes like 2 sacks 1 TFL and a FF or a defensive stop, consistently per game (like Sapp says he saw in Garrett's tape) it's still more than what most players would do
>>
>>75524446
Ah okay, sorry for getting riled up. I'm just not a big fan of Sapp in general, dude is awful on TV. Surprised he's still getting airtime after what he did to that prostitute.

So just the Seahawks?

So just one team?

So it's not related to the matchup at all?

Lemme tell you something: I'm not the dweeb. The dweeb is the person who is so deprived of intellect, creativity, and substantial content to contribute that he forces irrelevant bullshit into conversations without warrant.

You're the dweeb. You're the loser.

The Raiders vs Seahawks matchup has nothing to do with that webm. You are simply so starved for validation that you posted a shitpost alongside some catch-all meme in the hopes that someone would notice your existence.

You are a fucking loser and you should fucking kill yourself.

Also, it took me so long to reply to this post because my girlfriend was giving me a blowjob. Naturally, matters would escalate and I'd start plowing her ass afterwards, but I saw you replied and I knew it wouldn't take me more than a few minutes to rhetorically curb-stomp your dipshit piss-stain excuse of an existence into a state of ineffectual nothingness, so I told her to wait while I did just that.

She's playing with my balls right now. I don't imagine you have any idea what that feels like.

A team with almost no fans.

A team has never wins the super bowl

And a team that is in a city where soccer and major league soccer (MLS) are a lot more popular than football (american football) and the NFL
