Basketball shoes are heavy and clunky. I legit don't understand why people wear them. Basic sneakers are far superior, especially for amateurs just playing a pickup game

I think they are popular because they stand out more than other sneakers and some pairs make you appear taller.
I wear basketball sneakers casually because I love the aesthetic & excess ankle padding support of 80s and 90s basketball sneakers. It feels like my ankles are being hugged by memory foam wherever I walk.
