>"Peppers went to the combine. He was sick after flying there from San Diego. He has a history of cramping. Peppers was being pumped with fluids, drinking 8-10 bottles of water before he went to bed, because he was the first guy to work out two days for the LBs and DBs. He had to go through that first day, come back on second day, and that was the fear. So Peppers was pounding water and under the weather. He never failed a drug test in his life, nor tested positive before for any substance."

Darnold looks really fucking good after replacing USC's QB1. Played in one of the greatest college bowl games ever. (>USC QB's)

Rosen has that Andrew Luck hype surrounding him but nowhere near the college career so far because he plays in a shitty school and was also injured for a while.

Lamar Jackson may be a meme and turn into a WR, but he reminds me so much of Vick. Big arm on the fastest guy on the field. Will probably bust desu.

Josh Allen. Small school guy in a prostyle offense just like Wentz but with a bigger arm.

Baker Mayfield looking decent.

Luke Falk is also looking OK.

Also the reason for shit QB classes is because of the simple systems QB's play in. I think you'd be lucky to find 2 starting QB's for teams in every draft. Even out of all those guys I named probably only 1 will make but I still believe they are all better than the guys coming in this draft.

Darnold is the sure thing unless he shows some problems this year
Rosen is all hype from being a former HS #1 overall recruit, spent all of last season injured
Jackson is, as you said, a meme read option future WR/KR
Allen isn't bad, but hasn't shown what he can do against higher talent, if Wyoming makes a bowl game this year, and he wins I say him and Darnold are the two top talents.
Luke Falk is a product of Mike Leach. A little history lesson: Mike Leach is notorious for his Air Raid offense that gained traction at TTU. He also got fired for locking Craig James' son in a closet and hitting him with a chair or something. He never produced a QB who was even remotely ready for the NFL, the same goes for any Air Raid, Run and Gun offense. Hawaii, SMU, LTU, TTU, WSU, Houston pre-Tom Herman. Not one productive QB in the NFL. Falk is the same.

Mason Rudolph, Big XII QB. Forget it.
Thorsen, Northwestern QB, prototype size, arm, etc, but cant figure out coverages in the B1G. Forget it.

Honorable mention: HB JT Barrett

It's down to Darnold and Allen. Everyone else is third string or CFL tier. Here is the problem; a lot of prototype size WBs coming out next year, 6'4+, 220+. So, half of those guys will be drafted high with the idea that they'll automatically find success by having bigger frames but mediocre talent or have peaked. But, as the draft draws closer, these guys will creep into the first round conversation, and then the "best QB class since 1983 and 2004" talk. Then you'll have 5 or 6 teams reach with probably one getting a true franchise QB who will be elite in a few years.

Buffalo is really shit at managing their Salary Cap

Belichick smelled the blood in the water

They could not afford to keep Gillislee at $4 million, it would eat half their salary cap, which they need to sign other FAs, their draft picks etc. not to mention they probably overvalued the 5th round pick

If you had to put your money on it, who would you take?
>>
>>75482280
I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but you can't deny there's way more talent in that class than the current draft.

Agree with Darnold and Allen. As I said 2 good QB's a draft would be lucky, so this is a good draft in terms of depth lol.

Oh I'm not saying this class has any 1st round talent at all. Terrible group. Even Trubisky is pretty much a bust (13 starts, 8-5 record). But the NFL is so desperate now to find a pro style QB, especially with what you stated and I've been arguing about for a couple years now; the spread offenses that are now the norm from pee-wee football up through college has nearly caused the pro style passer to become extinct. It's now rare to find a combination of size, talent, and skill in a complex offense at the QB spot. Even NFL scouts have admitted that it's almost impossible to evaluate QB talent now. It's even showing in the value of mediocre veteran QBs in their 30s. The monetary value has skyrocketed to the point where even a poor 34 year old veteran who hasn't played in two years can get a 2 year $20MM deal just because they're a pro style QB.

It goes back to how football has evolved. High School teams nationwide now use some form of the single read spread because the college game changed. Then it trickled down to Jr. High. Now it's what kids are growing up on. In the next decade, there may not be a pro style, west coast, multiple read QB in the draft.
>>

>>
>>75482616
Well, the Wildcat can't really be considered an offense, it's just a formation.
The Eagles were really the first in recent years to employ parts of it under Chip Kelly. The idea is simple. Get the defense spread out in space, quick hit run plays, read option out of the gun or pistol, 4 and 5 wide receiver sets with some quick routes on the inside, some quick outs, and go routes for the outside receivers. Based primarily on speed, which is where the argument that in the NFL, all defenses are already too fast for that offense to work.

that's a guess.

maybe jimmy is a backup like aaron rodgers was. maybe brady gets hurt for the middle 8 weeks, and jimmy is good enough to keep them in playoff contention.

if they believe jimmy is a good nfl starting quality QB, then you have to keep him. brady will be 40 by the time the season starts.

http://www.cleveland19.com/story/35230876/top-nfl-draft-prospect-accused-of-sexual-assault-at-downtown-cleveland-hotel

>CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

>Cleveland 19 News have had numerous conversations about the report you are about to read. There's a lot at stake. A young woman who said she was sexually assaulted, a young man who is about to start his NFL career, and a team who may be taking a huge risk drafting a player who's under investigation right here in Cleveland.

>"Officers on scene no call back. Twenty three-year-old female conscious and breathing. Victim of a sexual assault." That's police radio traffic coming from the downtown Westin Hotel in Cleveland after 3 a.m. Sunday, April 9.

>The accused is a college football player who is expected to be drafted in the first round of the NFL on Thursday.

There will be no such occurrence, seeing as the Patriots have not had a Super Bowl decided by more than 6 points in the Brady-Belichick era.
Only a 19-0 season culminating in a win over the Giants would "get the monkey off" Tom's back, and a good Giants team too (which they are shaping up to be in the coming seasons, better than their 2007 and 2011 teams anyway.)

As a UM fan, I've watched every game in Peppers' career. I don't believe in him as anything more than a return man. He's never made big plays in coverage, and his athleticism won't bail out his instincts against NFL athletes.

Why would Cleveland make that trade?
It is completely predicated on the Browns doing Browns things, but it goes completely against their recent pattern of collecting picks.

(Also Jarrad Davis? The Linebacker from Florida? Yeah he won't be there at 52)
>>
Peppers did nothing wrong
>>
>>75485474
So Cleveland trades up to #5 and gives up a fair amount of draft capital to select who exactly? A QB who could very well still be available at #12 or gone as early as #2? Doesn't make a lot of sense for them to make that move

Hence the point about instincts, which I apparently should have expounded upon. He was great against the run because he could fly to the football even if he made a bad read, which happened frequently. In the NFL, that doesn't work.
>>
>>75487834
All he's said is that he wants to go to a contender if traded. He never said the Seahawks weren't one which they obviously are

They got to the divisional round with their two best defensive players injured for portions of the season and Wilson playing injured from week 1

Bills fan here. if there is anything this franchise has been good at, it's bringing on undertalented running backs and making them better than average for their spot on the roster.

See Fred Jackson, Karlos Williams (before we realized he got fat), Mike Gillisslee. We still have 3 RBs on the roster, one of which is shady. we will be fine. we will use the extra pick on a running back probably and be fine.

Wisdom that surpasses understanding.

Blitzing him worked really well at UM because the front seven was outstanding and the scheme created overloads. Peppers was rarely fighting off blocks when he made big plays. When teams ran right at him (see MSU) he struggled. That will only get worse in the NFL.

I love him and want him to succeed. I just don't expect it. If he had been a nameless 3-star recruit we'd be talking about him like a mid 2nd-round pick with upside.

The seahawks gave up +4 turnovers the last several time they played the packers, and say what you will about capers, he knows how to get into wilson's head. The packers put up a whopping 38 points against the same seahawks who got bootyblasted by the falcons and panthers. The fact is, they know how to play their offense, and their defense is more gatekeepers of the playoffs than a legion of boom.
Packers have the seahawk's number, and the seahawks aren't a superbowl team as of the last two seasons

The roster is quite good at certain spots (offensive line, defensive line, safeties) and has promise at QB, the only reason they couldn't consistently win games was having the 32nd ranked WRs and 32nd ranked CBs in the league

What other argument would anyone need? That's the textbook definition of a shitty quarterback.

>Don't act like you weren't shitting up this board in 2015

Before the season I was probably way hype considering what we did in 2014 but I think a lot of Ravens fans didn't think we would regress so hard after losing Kubiak. Every Ravens fan knew we were done after we lost to the Browns in week 5 when we were 1-4 we were already out of the mix when Flacco was injured in week 10 gamethreads were depressing as fuck that season just a full on pity party

>>75495461
Vikings have never stopped being delusional since I've been here and I discovered 4chan back in April 2013. See >>75495478 it happens every single offseason without fail. I also got a TON of shit after week 3 last year when people were doing revised playoff predictions. Mine didn't have the Vikings or Eagles making it in and their fans lost their shit at me. We're talking 3 fucking games into an NFL season here

Dolphins are a lowkey delusional but considering how uppity they get in the offseason or when they're on a run compared to their success/actual skill level of team it just doesn't add up. They haven't won a playoff game since the early 00s yet you see nothing close to the pessimistic attitude of jest or razorcake fans

I'm worried for DAK since he's already giving off some major Romo vibes so far.

He can fix this if he shows he isn't a one and done, but it'll be a little tougher without that momentum he had last season.

I think last season was just the memes getting to us hard. We were the last team in the league that still had a streak going and things were looking good despite Peterson being stuck in limbo.

Defense was exposed hard and things just went south from there on.
>>
>>75495637
He's already proven himself a better QB than Romo, the question is:
--is he a flash in the pan, like, say... Delhomme, OR
--is Jerry going to fuck this up.

Both are possible.

The Saints organization apparently has a short memory.

Not quite as short as the Seahawks, though.

I don't know. Maybe, this thing, called, the defense??? You know, that thing that is part of football because it's not all offense???

Should the Giants take advantage of John Ross slipping and draft him in round one? Imagine the receiver corps of OBJ and Marshall out wide and Shepard and Ross playing underneath, and imagine all of those receivers out at the same time on four wide sets. Wouldn't have to worry about Eli not having much help anymore and there's not a good left tackle to take in the first round that will be available when the Giants draft.

GIants are pretty unique when it comes to the draft and they love physical intangibles over everything so I still think they're the one team that will pull the trigger of Pat Mahomes

If they go O line I do think Ramzcyk or Robinson could still be available though. Bolles and Lamp are the two getting the most love recently so it could cause the other two to slip
