>>75424203
Too early to tell. Come back and ask in August.
gfhgfn
"Give it to this kid!"
Fuck off. I'll be punching little bitches if a ball comes my way.
>>75424444
same unfortunately, no one gave me a ball when I was a kid
>>75424203
the starting pitching which was among the best strengths of the team last year is looking poor
but the offense is bailing them out the last few games
there a lot of baseball still to play, and if things return to their statistical median, the cubes will win the nl central without problem
>>75424479
When I was younger and hadn't picked a baseball team yet I went to the cell and caught a HR ball. A man in his 40s told me he'd break my arm if I didn't throw it back. It was a big part of why I decided to definitively not root for the Sox.
>>75424572
What a dick, who talks to a kid like that. Throwing balls back isnt even a thing outside of wrigley.
>>75424572
Sounds about right for that shithole
Things are about to get Grimm
Back in '87 I was sitting in some primo seats with by dad & brother - 6th row about a section and a half to the 3rd base side of homeplate (which is probably about the 20th row now with all the extra seats added since then)
Maddux was pitching and Kirk Gibson fouled off a pitch that went up high and bounced off the pressbox.
It rebounded down right on top of us. I reached my hand up amongst a pile of other taller arms from adults all around me and spilled beer splashing everywhere and snared the thing with my left hand.
Ive been to ~180 games (160ish at wrigley) and its the only time Ive ever been in the vicinity of a foul ball (or homerun) - and I caught it.
A good friend of mine got hit in the leg by a foul ball while he wasnt paying attention. Ive been giving him shit about it for 20 years.
>>75424725
Told ya
Only been to one game so far this year. Need to go to another im still baseball thirsty from the off season
Fucking Grimm. I like the guy but I don't even feel safe with a six run lead when he's on the mound.
>>75424756
Damn. Good on ya, gramps. Still only been to ~20 games, been a few years since I last was in Chicago.
>>75424756
When I was about 10 I had seats mid way up from the dugout staring right at first base. A foul landed a row or two behind me and in the mass of people trying to get it it rolled to just behind my row, so I just leaned over and grabbed it.
Looked like a homerun to me
>>75424999
Cubs fan here. Reds got robbed.
Heyward pls play like this all season
TYBH
>>75424900
still a bit shy of being a gramps - was 12 in '87 - which is why catching that ball was such an awesome experience/memory - plus the players involved being legends
havent been to a game since 2010 - I live more than 3 hours from the city now and just dont make my way back as often as Id like
but I did make it to postseason games in 03 (prior v maddux) and 07 & 08 (huge disappointments) and I was at barleycorn for the bartman game
still a cubes junkie - sadly 3 different connections I had to season tickets have all sold their seats between 2010 and 2013, so Ill have to stubhub it.
>>75424913
In 86 I saw a game at Wrigley against the Expos. We were in the upper deck behind home plate. Big net in front of us. My dad said we wouldn't see any foul balls. Literally two pitches later and somebody, maybe Sandberg, hits one into our row six seats to my right. Some old lady got it.
>>75425044
I thought it was out too
Going to Resd Park tomorrow for the game. What should i do if the faggot camera lands on me?
