That's basically slow pitch softball. The ball is thrown slowly underhanded so the ball is always in play, and like pesa, you can "place" your hits, so defenses have to keep shifting.

Over course your weekend drunks will try to knock out of the park every time, but people who take slow seriously play it like pesa, with the chop hits, bloop hits, and such.

Bryce wants there to be more personality, as in more bat flips, fights, personal player rivalries, hat tips, etc. which would be fine as long as it doesn't get NBA-tier. It would attract young people, but that stuff doesn't involve rule changes and is more of a culture change that Bryce can start if he can get into a World Series to display what he means to as many as possible.

If you want games to not last 2-3 hours but still be fundamentally the same, add a pitching clock of like 15-30 seconds that freezes when a pickoff attempt happens or when they are preventing a steal. Once the clock ends the pitcher must immeadiately start throwing ball and if he just sits there its a walk.
