Ironically I think that moot was probably the only one in the whole mod team that understood /sp/, he would take part in the banter and he publicly embarrassed a mod for being too strict. In his final stream he talked about how he understood the frustration in being told to go to another board when you want to discuss some topics with like-minded people from your home board.

He apparently took a more hands-off approach in his last few years before quitting, which coincides with /sp/ getting more moderation and more generals.
