I do have F1 2013 too on my laptop, but the driving physics just aren't as realistic which is annoying. It's a fun game too and I still play it a lot but Forza is better I think. More realistic driving, and you've got lots of different kinds of cars to choose from.

Also I think Forza 6 has a couple of old F1 cars in it.

Well the new F1 cars are slightly slower in a straight line than last year's ones, but should be faster through corners because there's more downforce

I don't know how they would compare in speed to an Indy car, especially around a speedway. Probably slower. F1 cars are designed for downforce to make them fast through twisty corners. On a road track, F1 cars would probably be faster than Indy cars. I dunno I'm completely guessing.

I was reading today how CART raced at the Canadian GP circuit back in the day, and the F1 cars were a few seconds quicker over the same circuit. Apparently CART cars weigh more which is one of the reasons for that.

Well when you program it, it can fly on its own so that's why it's so long.why, I don't know. It's very weird. They are really immersed in it, there are virtual airlines, online playing with full blown ATC talkings and real life procedures and stuff. Fun is at military sims and they still require something, just not this autistic. Dogfights are really fun and technical. You DO get failures so when you get hit you need to check hydraulics, engine speed etc. Having your F-16's engine stuck in safe mode, slowly consuming all the hydrazine while trying to stay airborne in your EPU is really tense. I used to fly in Falcon BMP.

Civilian sims are forklift simulator tier especially if you fly airliners. General aviation is okay. I used to fly to tiny dirt fields in Alaska with a tiny C-172. All you need to do to start it is checking throttle and mixture positions, cranking, checking gauges. Then you're all set. Flying in Alaska was really fun. It was mad fun to deal with icing, especially when it fucked with my intake and pitot tube. Engine fucking up, carefully adjusting the throttle and mixture, slowly losing airspeed, giving up altitude for airspeed so I don't stall...

True the F1 games do really recreate the race in terms of all the procedures, practice, quali, all that stuff.

I just think it's disappointing that the physics (at least on 2013 which I have) aren't that accurate. I have read that 2016 made a big leap forward in that department but it still looks a bit arcadey from the videos I've seen.

Forza 4 just feels more realistic to me so I play that more often. And I like the fact I can pick up and play a race too, instead of having to do an entire F1 race weekend with practice and quali and everything. Also I find the AI on the F1 games to be pretty shit, although admittedly it's a bit rubbish on Forza as well, but slightly better I think.

To each their own of course. Maybe I should get a new console if I want to step my driving game up... or possibly a PC but I don't know if I want to become a PC gamer... I think it would suck up my entire life. With a console I can still pretend I'm a normie.
