Such a shame that there are too many sports. I have a solution though. Let's introduce a women's competition for every sport so then there are even more teams.

Surely that will fix the problem

I just can't be optimistic about Union in Australia until we go full domestic, or trans-Tasman.

NRL and AFL will be expanding to 18 and 20 teams by 2020 while aus Union will be lucky to have 3 teams.

Being on the bench of a NRL or AFL team pays better than being a fringe Wallaby.

It looks here as if it is the Cheetahs and Kings. Absolutely certain that the King's are gone, still some uncertainty for the Cheetahs, but if you base it on merit (which they really should) looks like the Cheetahs will fall.

Brazilian NT nickname is Tupis, reference to main indigenous group in Brazil, the Tupi group.

For some time, Brazilian national rugby union side was unofficially associated with Walt Disney's character Zé Carioca. >Sonny Bill Williams will be allowed to continue covering up a sponsor’s logo on his Auckland Blues shirt after the New Zealand Rugby Union agreed to the All Blacks player’s request based on his religious beliefs.

>Williams, a devout Muslim, last week taped up his collar to hide Bank of New Zealand logos as Islamic faith forbids financial institutions charging interest and fees on loans.

this is literally medieval tier, even christians in the middle ages didn't operate banks because they thought charging interest was sinful. I don't even hate muslims but this really feeds into the whole concept that islam is stuck in the past.

most of super rugby would literally operate on borrowed money given how expansionary it is, if he really believed this he wouldn't accept a salary or play in a smaller league with no debt.

Italy play in blue despite their flag being green, white and red. There are reasons for the colours of each. Leinster's is to do with Saint Patrick's blue and Dublin, and I think Munster's has to do with the British Army (just don't tell Munster fans or they'll Ree hard). I can't remember the reasons for the other two right now.

Why don't Australia just do this? Give the different franchises the responsibility of overseeing rugby growth in the areas in question. I know there's fuck all people there, but I can't imagine trying to have to set up a rugby club in the middle of nowhere like we did in my hometown without the help we got off the Connacht branch.

Just simple shit like provide them all with balls, maybe balls branded with your team crest or something? Seems like a better plan than just saying, "No, you don't have a team and you never will."

Not sure what criteria you're using but: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dublin_University_Football_Club is oldest extant football club of any kind.

While we're talking shirt designs, everyone Irish agrees that these are the best from each of the provinces, right? It's no coincidence they're all from around 10-12 years ago when the jersies actually had solid, crisp colours.

All the club jersies that come out now are over-designed trash with retarded stylised patterns. Less is more.

If you ever go to the Sportsground, around half of the jersies are from the Pro12 win, a quarter are this season, and 20% are still that design. It's easily the most sought after retro Connacht shirt.

I'm not too in the know about Leinster shirts though. All I know is they have some really ugly old ones with loads of hoops, and the horrendous unicorn jizz jersey they won their second Heineken Cup in. Pic-related is pretty nice though.

Just look at his stiff ar and closed fist, he wasn't attempting to wrap. At best it's a shoulder charge that went wrong.
>>
>>75219288
If you're getting one, go for the home one they wear in the league. Be careful if you're a fatty though, because that design's going to draw attention to your belly.

Don't bother with anything else though. The Pro12 away jersey has the same problem as the home one and doesn't even look as nice. The European home jersey is a mess and the European away jersey is a disaster.

>>
>>75219724
Career-ending? Ya, Sexton's the red hot favourite. I'm not talking about career-ending though, I'm talking career-derailing. In other words, a "nearly always fit" player goes to regularly missing two month blocks like O'Brien and Sexton do now.

Murray's still having niggles from the injury Welsh game (HE'LL RUN IT OFF MATE) and might not be back for another week or two. If he rushes back to fitness for Munster and then has to go straight to New Zealand and play three seriously physical tests, he could easily aggravate something and do permanent damage.

Anyone else think Japan has more of a case to be included in the 6 Nations than Georgia?

>Beat Georgia in Georgia
>Better quality backs (Georgia's are shithouse)
>Beat South Africa
>Nearly beat Wales in Cardiff

Meanwhile, Georgia lost to Romania recently, Japan at home and were thumped by a Scotland side which decided to take it easy after they were 40 points up.

Japan could set up a base in Spain or Germany or something if travel looks to be an issue.

>>
>>75224255
It'd make more sense. With the inclusion of Argentina into the fold and forgetting about the tradition of hemisphere differences, time zones shouldn't really be a thing any more. Time zones are the only reason I can see for Japan's inclusion into Super Rugby and potentially the RC, if they get any better.

Otherwise, they are still a NH team and no further away from Europe as SA is from Australia and NZ. Definitely closer than Argentina. I wouldn't mind seeing them in the 6N, tbqhwy. But with a team in SR and being associated with SH teams when it comes to Autumn Internationals, I don't think that'll ever happen.
>>
>>75224953
They should just have a 10 nations tournament with all the minows like Romania, Japan, Georgia, Spain, Portugal etc. Maybe every now and then NZ Maori and the Island Nations could square off against a few teams.

There are Irish derbies and Judgement Day in Wales, the top 4 is still pretty open, especially if Ulster beat Munster and Connacht and Cardiff are stuck fighting over 7th and 8th to see who they have to play in Champions Cup play-offs. Next week is European semi-finals too, so it's worth seeing how those teams are doing now.

A ton of players will be injured on tour, the scheduling is atrocious playing 10 games including 3 tests over a period of a month after a long season, so a ton of players will get call ups who weren't initially picked.

Wonder if the betting odds include just making the tour rather than the initial squad.
>>
>>75231300
I think George will go

It's between Healy and Marler imo

Think Lawes will go ahead of one of the Grays

Haskell will probably go but SOB while poor in the 6 Nations and Robshaw can feel aggrieved since they're both better players

Farrell is nailed on at 12 and Ringrose probably won't even tour. Cronin might make it for his meme impact sub role, but no way someone with his throwing stats starts. McGrath is the better scrumager, but that isn't worth that much against New Zealand. Mako Vunipola will start because he's the best in the loose.

Probably I just think it's sensible to have a 9 - 13 pairing that are all familiar with eachother. The only other viable 13's to me are payne who I would be happy enough with, or that brown english lad would demolished scotland who I think is a hot or cold player.
I think sexton farrell will be a disaster of a pairing.

You start your best players, and Itoje's the best lock in terms of carrying and power, and Jones is the best lineout organiser. If you have a back row injury crisis, you can bring on Gray and swirch Itoje back, but I reckon he has to start.

The only worry is the lack of lineout options in the starting back row.
>>
>>75234328
From him having a really strong 18 months, Italian game aside. He's going to be the kicker as well.
>>
>>75234650
Farrell only plays 12 to manage the game for Ford and his defensive organization

None of which are needed with Sexton or Biggar and there are better 12 available

He'll be 2nd choice 10 for Sexton until he's injured and becomes 1st choice, he's only playing 12 imo if there's an injury and he's moved there
