20-30 years ago tennis wasn't as physical. That was the golden era of women's tennis. That generation pushed for equal pay because they were, technique-wise, as good as men. People came to watch women's tennis because it was still competitive and fun to watch.
The new generation of women's tennis players have zero technique and play a bastardised version of the physical men's game. The only reason it's relevant right now is because it was so great in the past. Serena Willian's is dominant right now because she can blast the other women off the court but when someone comes along who can actually play good defensive tennis or someone who doesn't let her come ji side the baseline she's fucked because she doesn't have a plan B.
It's a shame what women's tennis has become.

Do you think that's really the case though? I doubt that any girl would purposefully train since childhood and spend thousands of hours playing tennis just to be left with just a modeling contract in the end. I mean, the most beautiful wta players like Sharapova, Ivanovic or even Bouchard would may aswell have pursued modelling careers since the beggining just by using social media or any model agencies like most of the current whores do, if that's what they wanted to.

it's not so much about hanging with the following gen, I think bot and scam are at their natural use by date's considering their style of tennis. There's only so much much grinding a player can do (especially at the top) before they lose that edge, that driving hunger or natural attrition just takes its toll.

As for the appalling generations to come I think there are quite a few young players that have showed a hunger to win and a few of them have the talent to back it up.

Obviously not at the moment, he's been hitting hard on both wing recently and making insane shots like that stretched lunge forehand in the AO final.

My suspicion is that his racket has a way higher twist weight now. His racket used to be super light on the sides which helped his wrist-y eastern forehand but now he's gone full ball bash and upped the twist weight for power and stability over being able to hit forehands like he used to last seen in 2007
