And it shows you that Bottas' mistake wasn't all that bad. I think these cars are much easier to slide/spin than the last ones - there was lots of slipping and sliding at Barcelona testing.
Maybe it's because the higher downforce lulls them into thinking lots of grip is available, but then they forget when they're driving at low speeds that such grip isn't available? I don't know.

Cats are autists. They love you, but they can't show it. As long as you know how to communicate, they're not different than dogs. When they do bad stuff, and if you could teach, they will feel bad. When you yell, they will know why. And if you bonded nicely, they will never approach strangers despite liking them in your home. If you're hurt, they will even try their best take care of you like they do to other hurt cats.

This is crazy. I didn't see any of these spins, from HUL or VER or SAI during the race.
So yeah, BOT's spin wasn't that bad then.
Do you reckon my downforce theory could be correct? That the higher downforce is giving them lots of confidence in the grip levels, but when they're at low speed, they don't have that grip, and they're just being a bit overzealous at these low speeds.
Obviously they will be used to how downforce works like that, but in these new cars, the DIFFERENCE in downforce levels at low/high speeds will be much greater, which might be something they just have to get used to.
The reason I think this is because if you look at them driving these cars, e.g. Sainz in that WebM, they seem to visibly be pushing the car much harder through corners - because they can, because of the downforce. Last year's cars, you would see them not pushing the cars as hard in corners. Which obviously makes full sense.
And yeah, in that WebM, Sainz loses grip as he slows down - when the downforce on the car will greatly diminish.
>>75165097

It's really odd that cars are losing it like this
I ge tthe track is a bit damp maybe but still, you rarely see total loss of control like that when crusing at SC speeds, like with Verstappen and Bottas.
I think Pirelli may have designed a tire that if it loses grip laterally it is just gone forever and there's not much you can do except slow down and hope you can catch it.

Makes me kinda frustrated to see how things turned out. Kimi lost his edge because he relies too much on his natural talent. When his car doesn't exactly fit his driving style it all goes to shit and seems like he never worked to improve that.
And then there's Alonso who can alter his style more but flushed down his Mclaren stint and hasn't made a single good choice after that.

My guess is, cars are a lot more reliant on downforce and when they catch a slide, sideslip angle further reduces the downforce because you only care about the air coming from front. On top of that, cars are strictly designed for certain streamlines with little to no tolerances. Sliding might fuck the airflow badly.

>>75166300
Yeah I reckon it is something like this. As I say I first noticed it at Barcelona testing. If you remember, Bottas and Stroll both had slides into the wall, but other cars were sliding around too.
Watch the Red Bull here at 0:42 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpJuAxK-fS4
It slides in a way that last year's cars didn't. I think last year's cars didn't lose grip so suddenly. And I think it is to do with the increased downforce, and a sudden loss of it.
Because obviously it is the increased downforce which is allowing them to turn much more aggressively into the corners. Last year, they had to be more careful, skirting on the edge of grip, not going too fast. Now they are going flat out with the downforce allowing that, but I guess if they aren't going fast enough then they don't have the downforce and they slide.
I don't know though, I'm a pleb and an idiot, not an aerodynamicist.

They need to bring in different flags for the different "countries" in Great Britain and Lesser Britain
>>75167024
>but I guess if they aren't going fast enough then they don't have the downforce and they slide
No, not like that. Downforce just generates "lift" force, but directed to ground. Literally a reverse wing. You need grip, and grip is friction of the wheels. Friction is more or less force times coefficient, since they can't increase, the weight, they add reverse wings, so tires can turn with the "force" of a muh heavier car. And since the car isn't actually heavier, it turns sharper. 700kg car, turning with 4g's mean tires are applying 2800kg of cornering force.Basically downforce is just a way of aerodynamically applying "weight" without adding mass.
Why I described is, less speed = less downforce, but also less cornering force. There's no such thing as "you need to be at least this speed or you won't be able to turn", car still behaves normally. Rest of it is correct.
I am 95% sure it's like this. I can't be 100% sure. I'm drinking.

Well yes, but still, if you are trying to turn quite hard, at a relatively low speed, while giving lots of throttle / torque through the wheels, then you're going to slide right?
>There's no such thing as "you need to be at least this speed or you won't be able to turn"
I'm not saying you won't be able to turn, but you will necessarily have less grip because of the lack of downforce, because you're going slowly, so there isn't as much air flowing over the car, pressing it into the tarmac.
Obviously it always the case for any car that it has more downforce when it is travelling faster. But yeah I'm just trying to understand why the 2017 cars seem to slide more, or at least lose grip more suddenly and dramatically, than the 2016 cars.
And I'm thinking it's perhaps because the difference in downforce levels between low and high speeds is *greater* than it was in 2016 (because these new cars generate more downforce at speed), that the drivers are getting caught out when they're driving at low speed. I.e. they are just getting used to how these new cars drive. I don't know. I'm just guessing.

Force itself is different than the job done. It's called lift, because airplanes and birds were there first. They probably named it "downforce" to avoid the confusion.
Lift doesn't have to be opposite direction of the gravity. It must be whereever the lifting body wants. Pic related. "Body lift" in action. It's simply shaped as a capsule, no wings. Weight placement creates angle of attack, which in turn creates lift, so it capsule doesn't dip well deep into the atmosphere and burn up.
>>75168988
That's different. Low gear + high rpm = more acceleration force. That's why you get wheelspin in first gear and not 5th gear. Difference here between normal cars is with increased downforce, you get increased traction, where you use it doesn't matter. Acceleration, braking, turning. F1 acceleration is basically downforce limited until 150-200km/h. Like, if they could go full throttle at 200km/h last year, now it's 150km/h.
It must be actually harder to spin if it's "caused by wheelspin." For casual oversteer spins, must be something with the airflow fucking up. Maybe height, maybe wing design, I don't know. Maybe simply the fact that they rely on it too much and simple loss of downforce is uncorrectable because tires don't have enough grip anymore.. Don't know..
I think that Aus anon might be onto something with his oil burning conspiracy

>For casual oversteer spins, must be something with the airflow fucking up. Maybe height, maybe wing design, I don't know.
Yes it could well be this.
>Maybe simply the fact that they rely on it too much and simple loss of downforce is uncorrectable because tires don't have enough grip anymore.. Don't know..
Do you mean, the drivers rely on it too much, or the aerodynamicists?
I think you mean aerodynamicists; fair enough yes it could be that.
I guess my point is about drivers though (maybe it's a stupid one I don't know). They're having to get used to these new levels of downforce, after eight years of similar levels, from 2009 - 2016.
Obviously they have much more of it through the corners so they're pushing much harder than last year to exploit that. But at low speeds obviously the downforce drops away, so maybe they're just getting a bit caught out by where that threshold lies. Yes they're driven a fair amount in testing, but that was on one track. Yes they go in the simulator, but that is still just a simulator. Compared to eight years of driving the previous cars for lots and lots of laps, at many different tracks, around lots of different types of corners.
isn't max great
>>75170232
>I guess my point is about drivers though
If you mean drivers relying on downforce, it's wrong, only downforce, hence traction, increased.
But otherwise it should be. Like, they always want to be on the limit. Maybe they push over the limits while trying to learn where the limits are and fuck up.
I don't really know, cars ren't my strong suit.

I am drunk, have a US trip scheduled and my money is worth 1/3rd of its value. Of course I am mad. I could have an okay holiday, now I have to rely on my fried because I can't even pay for the fucking ticket. There are lots of criticisms but I'm too lazy to list them all. Fucker basically does nothing right, except propaganda and securing his position and getting his friends to high places. One example. He keeps bragging about building big bridges.
Cost of the project to constructor: $2 billion
Daily traffic promised: 40000 cars
Actual daily traffic: 6000 cars
Estimated weekly cost for compensation: $10m
Estimated total cost for the total operating time: $20+ billion
The constructor KNEW they were retarded, so they kept the tolls extremely high. In the end, nobody uses it and they still get paid in traffic, not money. In the end it will cost 18 fucking billion dollars instead of two.
Fucker is doing the same thing for his car fleet too. All of his brand new fully armored full spec high prestige cars are rental, they pay 50% of the cars cost annually. Has been like this since forever.

Do you reckon he will end democracy and turn the country into an Islamic dictatorship? That's what our media tends to say.
>>75174971
>Sounds a bit like Trump but more inept.
No, not really. Trump is fairly elected person because he had fairly good promises. Corrupt asshole who brags about destablizing a whole region (which resulted ISIS) and killing so many people as a minister vs a bored non interventionist guy who had enough of military industry complex and China and try politics wanted to make the economy better by not spending money on those two. Of course Trump would win. Erdoğan = Trump is anti Trump propaganda. They're fundamentally different. The only thing remotely close is how he talks, like "lyin ted". I'm not saying Trump is good, but whole election was controlled opposition by DNC, especially Trump and Sanders. What they didn't calculate is, people liked Trump more than an insufferable bitch and it backfired.
Putin would be a better comparison. Actively destroys opposition, controls the media etc. He desires to be Lukashenko with this referendum.
It already is in practice. Like I said above, we have parliementary system. Our president is basically a "yes-no" guy and banned from politics. That clearly isn't the case, people tried to get away. Wouldn't say "islamic" though. Islam has nothing to do with this,in fact that's how he got votes in first place. Political islam was really fucking frowned upon over here and he was "better than moderate" tier guy with good accomplishments. Took over all the votes. Now people just can't find any options.

I have such nostalgia for the Hungaroring. Every time we go back I'm reminded of Jenson Button's RELENTLESS performance (not my words, check wikipedia) at the 2004 Hungarian Grand Prix. I knew right then and there that he was future WDC material, despite the fact that he wasn't even in his prime yet.
I'd reckon it was a good 7 years before he hit his prime, at the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix. To think that he also won a WDC before then in an underperforming Brawn is simply incredible. IMO that was the greatest single season performance by a driver in F1 history, the kind of thing that puts Fangio, Senna, Prost, and Schumi all to shame.
It's absolutely pathetic that the man was never picked up by a powerhouse team like Ferrari or Red Bull. He would've put Vettel in his place and pounded his boipussy, just like he's done to his teammate every year. With such driving prowess, I can only assume that they made him an offer and, being the true Englishman he is, Button decided he'd rather rebuild his ailing childhood heroes, Mclaren.
Nonetheless, I would expect big things from Button this weekend. The Hungaroring is a real CHASSIS track and I'd bet Mclaren has the best one on the grid. Nothing short of a top 5 in quali would be acceptable. For the race, a podium is on the cards for sure. Just look at the stats this season. Rosberg won every race until Jenson put the Mclaren in the points, and since then hes only won once. He's in Rosbergs head, got that PSYCHOLOGICAL advantage, and will blow the kid the fuck out when they go wheel to wheel. He's gonna be gunning for the win, I'm sure of it. Honestly, the only question I have about this weekend is whether or not Lewis Hamilton can handle racing with a REAL BRITON.

It's more of an argument than you presented you fucking autist.
If you want Hamilton to be worth supporting then turn back time to 2008 where he wasn't a total egomaniac drama queen who acted like he's some hot-shit little gangsta nigga.
Jensen could actually drive above the car when he was eventually given a semi-decent one (see: 2011) and isn't a massive cunt.

I have also always been a Button fan, from when I started watching properly, maybe 13 years ago. Everything you described in your post, how you feel about the possibility of him leaving, the tentativeness at the end of the 08 season up to when he went with brawn, when he won the campionship. I feel exactly the same and felt exactly the same.
I also remember when he got signed with McLaren alongside Hamilton, I was so SO pleased having a all British team, and then finding out that there would be an all German team in Mercedes, Schumacher and Rosberg (the old enemy :P), I was so excited for that season for the Anglo-German shoot out.
My favourite memory of him has to be Canada 2011, I remember watching the race, and it got to that point of the day where I was going to the pub with some mates because of all the rain delays. When we got to the pub the race was on and it had just restarted, everyone I was with had no interest in it and were chatting away.... but not me, I was absolutely glued to that screen, couldn't take my eyes off of it. then that final lap, Jenson closing on Sebastian, I think I was so close to the edge of my seat I was hovering. And then it happened Vettel made that mistake, that fateful, glorious mistake. It was absolutely beautiful. I jumped and shouted in this quiet country pub accidentally throwing my pint over the guy next to me, I was just ecstatic, overjoyed, thrilled. Truly a magical moment in my life
Its one of the few defining moments that I can remember watching F1. Its gonna stick with me forever.
I am very sad that we are at a point where Jenson may not be driving next year, I don't know what to do really.
I keep thinking he may not be going, but then I tell myself I am saying that just because i am a fan. But then again, crazier things have happened in F1.

This will be a very I love Jenson post! Stop reading now if you can't take it
Of the top of my head: Hockenheim 2000, Spa 2000 Qualifying, Germany 2001, Malaysia 2002 (Im still mad to this day) 2002 was a good year for Jenson beating Jarno consistently in the races in a "best of the rest" car far behind the then big 3. Earned him a seat for 2003 at BAR, poor ol' Villeneuve did not have the slightest clue what was coming his way.
2004? Mighty all year, nuff said. 2005: He did all he could, proven by the points ratio compared to Sato. From some point in the second half of season he scored more points than anyone.
2006: Beating a proven race winner quite nicely indeed, good qualy pace. And getting his first win must be the highlight of his first 7 years in the sport. Also a strong second half of the season! This COULD have been THE car.
2007: Despite the car he kept going flat out every race, no doubt! It was clear to see! RA107 was supposed to be THE car.
It's gonna get longer now, poor start sorry for that!
2008: He was different this year, he didn't have the same figting spirit for his 2nd in a row and 3rd in total in a backmarker. Rubens was starting to get the better of him and he no longer saw a light at the end of the tunnel it seemed to me. But I never ever EVER doubted his true ability! Cause I KNEW that when or IF a car ever came good, he would be there to capitalize!
>>75177433
>It's more of an argument than you presented you fucking autist.
>n-n-no u!
Nah, you don't have any argument, you're too thick to defend your position. I honestly feel sorry for you.
>Jenson could actually drive
Which is why he has three world championshi- OH WAIT
How long will it take bottas to out qualify Hamilton?
>>75177480
2009
I was always scared that if he ever got a proper, consistent race winning car it would just be too mutch to bare - too mutch pressure! But in reality it was only myself I was scared of, like the way i've felt every time Jenson had a new team mate, "could he beat him? could he atleast match him?" "Ofcourse! He would beat him soundly! How silly of me to consider otherwise!" I was so sure back in 2000 I had chosen a special one, but when you constantly see him hovering in the upper midfield you question if those ahead in their Mclarens and their Renaults and their Ferraris are just simply that mutch better than your chosen one! I didn't pick him because I like the way you say his name!!
It's hard for me to get into each race but his approach to 2009 was very Schumacher esque, makes me think if he drove those Ferraris Button could make it just as boring as Schumacher did. (not 2000 Button, a later more experienced Button) But yeah, I was very happy when the championship was secured! But more relieved than happy. I felt unreal, not empty.. just.. it took a while to sink in.
>>75177500
Nice rebuttal.
>>75177516
Post 2009 Championship: Mercedes and Brawn, whats the hold up? I didn't want him to leave Brackley at all, whats the point when Mercedes is coming! Just prove you are worth more money over the next year or so! Jenson refused, he wasn't wanted enough! So he went, simple as that. And I trusted him fully. I didn't care that it was Lewis in the other car like everyone else seemed to do, cause Jenson was too good. There was NO WAY a human being could find enough pace for Jenson be left in the dust! Impossible I tell you!!!
2010
Okay lets calm down The year began in Bahrain back in 2010, and Jenson down in 8th in qualy?? Slowest of the 4 fastest teams?? It must be a fluke, Jenson always comes through in the races though right?! Nah, held up by some old chap in a silver car. But the next race was a different story and Jenson was back to winning, im glad he won a race before Lewis that year to give him a nice boost for the rest of the year. But it was clear that he had to settle into the team before he could match the arguably fastest driver on the grid in equal machinery under normal conditions. All in all a good year
This is getting too long
2011
I was not very fond of 2011, there was always something that little extra missing from the car. Jenson could never break free of the chasing pack like Vettel did and so the championship was over by Japan. But from a Jenson fan perspective, it sealed it didnt it! If you know what I mean :) He wasn't a fluke! He never was, and he has been championship material for many years before 2009!
>>75177305
SUPPORT ARE BRITS
>>75177536
2012
Strong start, surprised some people I guess :) Then after they had the first major aero upgrade it went downhill, Jenson had gone down a setup path he was not going to get out of for many races, too many races infact! Why? I don't know, the car was fine! Why go radical? Eventually he copied Hamiltons base and he was back on it, actually a dark (very dark) horse in the championship until Monza. A nice finish to the year in Brazil in typical Jenson conditions! Bring on 2013 as the lead driver!
2013 & 2014
Just Jenson being Jenson, it feels a bit like watching 2002 and 2003. About the same speed compared to the competition, except now he is ahead of some of the drivers in faster cars in the championship.
Jenson deserves another shot at the title with Mclaren and I realy wanna see Button vs Alonso, even though it could actually drop Jensons ranking in the hall of fame by some places.
Thank you for letting me post this, it's just a tiny little fraction of what my perspective have been all these years. It doesn't even come close to the full picture, but it gives you an indication..
This all sounded better in my head than on paper, it looks strange. Sorry about that :(
tl;dr Jenson was championship material from day one!
>>75177512

You only support whoever is going to win rather than the person you actually want to? I'd like to see Max win because that'd piss so many people off but there isn't really anyone on the current grid who you can look and say "yeah, I really want them to win" because Kimi has the perfect amount of autism but doesn't have it in him anymore.
Since he seems popular, say one nice thing about this man.
>>75178001

>>75177938
>your team ran by a constructor that pushed for the total engine format change to hybrids
What relevance is this? Button only won because of a dominant car. Arguably Schumi and definitely Vettel had pretty dominant cars too.
>lose to ROSBERG
I guess that happens when your engines blow up.
>>75177963
>You only support whoever is going to win rather than the person you actually want to?
Well I support Lewis because a) he's British and b) he's at the front; sure I like other drivers as well and I want them to succeed but I think most F1 fans support at least one driver in the battle at the front, one driver that they want to win the WDC on any given year, otherwise it would be a bit pointless wouldn't it?
>Max
Meh he's hyped so much at the moment, I want to see Ric come back and put Max in his place.
>>75178001
He's sitting on a nice car. Without looking it up, I think that's an MP4-12C, but I could be wrong.
>>75178184
>I guess that happens when your engine blows up
This is the single worse Hamilton defence force move and it really grinds my gears for several reasons.
He lost far far far more points having bad races and not being fully in the title race. Partying/voice acting for video games/miscellaneous "I'm a famous person" stuff impacted his races far more than a single engine failure (which we no know was directly because of hammer time mode and therefore also his fault for being a cheating cunt)
If Hamilton gets one "if this didn't happen" shouldn't every other driver? In that case Rosberg wins a race because Lewis no longer crashes into him and Ricciardo wins a race because his team doesn't fuck up strategy or a pit stop. Turns out if you are fair with your "if this didn't happen" situations Lewis still loses the WDC last year, funny that...
I never lose.
has he finally been exposed?

Unfeasibly fine-honed feel for how to get a lot of initial rotation on the car without a lot of steering lock and therefore earlier and harder onto the power. Totally at ease with levels of entry instability that even the likes of Montoya couldn't handle. Virtually immune to chassis balance in short duration corners - can get the same speed from virtually any trait. Can trade off rotation change with braking force so well that he has more options of making the corner, enabling him to be able to brake later. Yes, Paddy said his ease with high speed oversteer enabled them to set the car up with less low speed understeer, making the car itself faster over the lap. Instability, if the driver is comfortable with it, is faster.

what do grand prix drivers do between races? surely it can't all be training, sponsor appearances and flying around the world.
Don't any of them have roles in the teams that requires them to be at the factory 5-6 days a week?
being an F1 driver would be one of the most high pressure jobs in the world and the massive physical demands would mean that you can't just spend your downtime laying back on a beach, sinking piss and smoking darts like I would, but the trade off of earning $20m dollarydoos a year, access to a private jet and really only working about 30 days a year would be hella worth it.
I hate that I wasn't talented enough to get sponsored or rich enough to buy my way out of karting and into cars.

During the season I imagine they would do a light amount of training every day, most likely cardio or endurance training. They do most of their training during the offseason.
Outside of they probably spend alot doing media appearances, this week for example most F1 drivers would be flying out to bahrain tonight. Getting there a day before practice and then leaving the night of the race.
In for prep I imagine they would do some sort review of their race and the and analyse any mistakes they made or any modifications made to the car.
Aside from that probably have a bunch of downtime with their millions in Monaco, no wonder they end up being bored enough to freeze their dogs semen and stuff.

Lads I had an F1 related dream the other night.
I was watching the Finnish (!) GP and Hill, Mika, and Schumi had come out of retirement to finish 1-2-3. Also Jordan were back. It was MSC's big comeback after his skiing trip so finishing third was a big thing. Also, his car ran out of fuel or broke down or something on the last lap and he pushed it up a fairly steep hill, then jumped on top of the cockpit in a wicked sick stunt pose while steering it from behind his back. Then the rest of the cars turned into bikes, and it turned out I was watching it at my grandfather's house with all my family there but they got bored so I had to watch the podium interviews on my phone.
Then I woke up to the crushing realisation that hIll is now a Sky schill, Schumi will be lucky to string a syllable together, and my grandfather is in fact dead so a family meeting at his house is unlikely, let alone him getting wifi. Mika is still pretty based though.

What a fucking babby
McLaren driver Fernando Alonso will miss this year's Monaco Grand Prix so he can race in the Indianapolis 500.
The double world champion has the full approval and support of McLaren and engine partner Honda, who are having a difficult season in Formula 1.
Alonso, 35, will race for the Honda-powered Andretti team, and the car will be branded a McLaren.
McLaren are yet to decide who will replace him in Monaco, but Britain's Jenson Button is a possibility.

The idiots are the people who believe this troll.
>claims to have lost 10kg in 2 weeks
>claims when he tried to exercise, he had a stroke and shit his pants
Wait another 2 weeks, and he'll claim he put 10kg on again because he couldn't stop eating.
He's just playing you idiots by serving up low effort stereotype tier fat jokes, and you all eat it up like hungry Greeks because it fits your narrative.
>>75181936
>will Button race in an abortion of a vehicle
>>75181933
But crashes are half the fun in any motorsport.
Fuck them, they get paid millions, I want to see some carnage. Have a little danger, take a chance.
Don't even get me started on "it drizzled a bit so 10 laps behind the safety car",
GOAT decided he wants to win something this year
noice
Forza Ferrari!!!!!
(you) if you agree!!!
>>75181936
Guess you are talking about this
I suppose so, McLaren have other reserve drivers and they might be more race ready than Button who has been relaxing
>>75181906
HOLY SHIT IT'S REAL
FUCKING STOKED
ALONSO IN INDYCAR 2018 CONFIRMED if not sooner
YES
RELENTLESS

In a month, fucktard, 10 kg in a month.
Pay attention.
When you are as fat as me and you eat 1500 calories a day it's possible.
>"I've won the Monaco Grand Prix twice, and it's one of my ambitions to win the Triple Crown [the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 and the Le Mans 24 Hours], which has been achieved by only one driver in the history of motorsport: Graham Hill. It's a tough challenge, but I'm up for it. I don't know when I'm going to race at Le Mans, but one day I intend to. I'm only 35: I've got plenty of time for that."
BAAAAAAAASED
>>75181906
Home GP as Alonso's last GP confirmed. Who will the replace Alonso with for the rest of the season?
>>75181960
It's amazing you can type such clear sentences after your stroke.
>>75181951
He probably has a chance too.
Remember last year rookie Alex Rossi won.
Who will it be?
>>75181970
That was a fuel saving meme though, him and his race engineer just had the balls to take the gamble. Doesn't mean it was a bad win, I quite liked that 500.
>>75181977
Picking anyone that isn't relentless.
>>75181953
They do?
>>75181977
I think Jenson's """""sabbatical""""" is a load of bullshit.
But I suspect he may be tempted to do a one off because, a) it's Monaco, and b) wants to have a go at the new cars.
>>75181977
the man who should have gotten the McLaren seat instead of gimi all those years ago
>skip the only race of the season where your supposedly great tier le chassis could provide great results
>go drive in some World BBQ championship support event instead
>The city of GP2 Engine... AAAAAARGHGHHH
>>75181984
>announce Indy 500 program in front of a Pirelli advertisement
>IndyCar doesn't use Pirelli
Ron would never have let this happen.
>>75181977
I want Turvey to do it but it'll probably be Jenson.
>>75181995
would Ron let a GP2 engine be put in the back of his car 3 years in a row?
>>75181977
Mika Hakkinen, I have foresaw it:>>75181708
>>75182007
Kek. Based Mika is back!
Just imagine if...
Alonso's Honda engine blows up at the 500.
>>75182038
>they give Alonso the F1 engine for the indy500 and halfway the first lap he runs out of kinetic energy
Whats to like about Indycar?
>mfw McLaren sent him to Indy500 to skip Monaco because team's psychologist is sure at the 98.7% he will try to commit sudoku in there
I bet Bernie is behind this.
>loses control of F1
>immediately tries to destroy it
History lesson: Bernie convinced Tony George to set up the IRL to when CART was making in roads on F1.
>>75181977
>Nyck de Vries
I thought he left. Tried to be in Ferrari's WEC-team and everything.
Is it happening?
>>75182108
No.
See:
>>75163861
>alonso to indy
>return of RELENTLESS
oh my god the memery
>>75182108
I doubt he qualifies for a superlicense.
How are the FIA rules dealing with this?
Wait a minute guys isn't this just the plot from Ricky Bobby?
>>75182146
That was NASCAR
>>75182137
They let Schumi come back so I don't see why Hakkinen couldn't.
>>75182160
But this is 16 years later.
>>75182137
>>75182160
They gave Stroll one too.
Also, didn't all Andretti's Honda engines fail in the last race? Has anyone told Alonso?
Alonso doesn't give a fuck anymore.
>>75182172
>gave
*sold
>>75182164
He was in DTM until late-2000's and Schumi was also out of their "recent performances" region when he came back. It is possible though I doubt he'd actually come back.
>>75182172

>The first to fall was Michael Andretti, who stalled his No. 27 on lap 14 and cited a sensor issue as the culprit. Then came contender Alexander Rossi, who suffered an obvious engine failure on his No. 98 on lap 62 from inside the top 5.
>Takuma Sato was running outside of the top 10 when his No. 26 inexplicably lost power on lap 78. Finally, Ryan Hunter-Reay was running second to eventual winner James Hinchcliffe when he, too, stalled his No. 28 with five laps to go.
kek
>>75182179
All of them are sold and the entire payment system is fucked. I wonder how much Stroll gave as a bribe.
>>75174496
he's no mansell I'll tell you that m8
>Alonso says that he's tired of F1 and will leave it if the McLeren 2017 is shit.
>It is
>McLeren let's Alonso race in other categories in the middle of the season just so he doesn't leave the F1 team
Clever

I'd rather be the one to leak my sex tape, not the father of my partner.

Alonso isn't gay enough.
>>75181925
That has to be it.
He's finally realised that he's never going to win another F1 world championship, and if he wants to be a """""great""""", not just a two time F1 champion, then he needs a plan b.
>>75182341
He will likely get to LMP1 next year or 2019
>>75182357
Exactly. And that will give him the chance at LeMans.
