The NBA is more social media than sport today. Its marketing strategy since Stern took over is to market individual stars over teams and the game itself.

Officiating is inconsistent from possession to possession, and end of the game officiating is atrocious.

Rules changes that basically prevent playing aggressive defense. Broken game design (3 point shot being worth 1/2 more when it isn't 50% harder to make) that has lead to the only viable strategy to either penetrate or chuck 3s.
