Is it even possible to pinpoint the one reason why this team has it so bad? How can they be so predictable and yet so terribly inconsistent? When it matters against a top side, they succeed, but when it matters against a bottom side, they lose.
The time Liverpool have had under Klopp presented so many promising things with a group of players that altogether aren't necessarily world-class: the Dortmund finish, the Barcelona 4-0, the results against the other Top 6, and the brief stay at the peak of the table. But when you consider the downs that have always seemed to follow: losing the EL final, the January collapse, wavering every matchday and losing form, it's just so baffling how it can cancel out so evenly in the end.
There's just no explanation how a team can work so hard and let it... yes, slip away. Something is physically stopping this group from ever being able to break even. Call it a curse, or gypsy magic, but there is no way the players or the managers can be naive to a weakness like this anymore.

Their players just aren't good enough. It's that simple.
When you play a defence of Clyne, Lovren, Klavan and Milner it's no wonder you concede goals. When key players like Henderson, Lallana and Mane get injured you have shit like Can and Lucas having to fill in.

it's a mediocre team, they have like two players who are actually good and a bunch of mediocre english players or players bought from bundesliga minnows like augsburg and hoffenheim. they win all the games against good opposition because klopp is great at that but fuck up the other games because they are simply not that good.

They play like headless chicken, which unnerves big teams that are used to others parking the bus or at least employing real tactics which you can counter. Smaller teams don't give a shit and do their own thing, since they are very limited and can't do much more. Also Klopp is generally pretty one dimensional and it becomes a bigger problem with time.
Besides, as another Kraut mentioned, their team simply isn't good and basically on Everton level so they over-archive either way.
