This is getting hopeless. Am I the only one beginning to think we would be better off without Mou? Honestly I believed it was a bad luck all the time, but now it seems the team is simply stagnating. A draw doesn't solve anything, especially one earned by scoring a penalty in extra time.
Who do we need to sign to sort out this mess? Looking at the performances tonight, we need AT LEAST a new striker, winger, centreback, leftback and someone to help out Pogba in midfield (he's world class at everything besides attacking and defending)

I don't know what to say. The lack of runners in this team is atrocious. Every time Modric or Kroos get on the ball for Madrid, they have 3 or 4 players making runs, whereas we only seem to have 1 or at most 2. Also, could someone teach this lot how to head on target?

Still think we will come good next season, but our attacking threat has been beyond a joke in the second half of the season. We need someone who can be clinical and composed in front of goal, the only one who i would say fits this criteria is Zlatan, but even he's been quite sloppy recently.

Well at least we scored, it wasn't pretty but I will take a draw over a loss any day. Looks like Europa League will be our best way into the Champions League next season.

Agree about making runs, though heading isn't as much of a problem as shitty crosses.
>>
>>75039302
It's obvious Modric and Kroos don't have the individual quality Pogba does, so it HAS to be a mental problem. Or worse, just bad tactics on Mou's part. I for one firmly believe that appropriate reiforcements will solve these problems, the board simply can't hold back on transfer budget during summer.

Is this how deep we've fallen? Being content with retaining 5th place? It's either a title or a title challenge for United, nothing else should be accepted. I'm mostly looking forward to the transfer market window at this point, the squad as it is simply isn't enough
>>
Ibra & Fellaini don't move, just stand there as everyone else hoofs balls to them.
>>
If Ibra was good then PSG would have offered him a new contract

If Mourinho was so good then Chelsea wouldn't have sacked him.

But those two clubs know what they're doing. And these flops are our saviours?

Im sick of it, everyone at this club is clueless
>>
>>75039655
>I'm mostly looking forward to the transfer market window at this point, the squad as it is simply isn't enough

We've been saying this for the last few seasons and every summer we sign 3-4 players, we're all happy with the team and then we finish outside of the top 4 and the cycle continues.
>>
>>75039682
>If Ibra was good then PSG would have offered him a new contract
They did though m8. He just wanted a change.

PSG won the league at this point last year with Ibra. Now they are second, and raped in CL harder than ever.
>>

>>
>>75039682
Ibrahimovic, despite his age, is still one of the three best strikers in the world. Pogba was the single most sought-after player when we got him, and again he's easily one of the three best midfielders in the world. Mourinho is the second GOAT in history of football, only behind Fergie.
It just baffles me how this elite quality doesn't translate to performances on the pitch. Something is off.
>>
>>75039845

>>
>>75039785
But they're not struggling to come 6th are they.

This club is a joke we should have never got rid of Van Gaal.

Pogba's alright but Juventus played us for mugs, there's always a reason a player is transferred
>>
>>75039744
The players we've signed previously were mostly bad choices, the recent ones were by far the best players of Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga respectively. Plus Bailly.
One more transfer window like this and I believe we can compete for the title

We'll probably spunk a load on Greizmann who should have been identified as a top talent while he was at Real Soceidad, he'll score a few in the first few games then back to the usual like tonight's performance
>>
>>75039856
>But they're not struggling to come 6th are they.
Neither is United now, they are comfortably 5th and mathematically with a great chance of top 4.

>Van Gaal
He lacked what it takes to take the club to the next level. Players like Pogba or Ibra would never come to United with a manager like that and they would be depended on getting players other clubs don't want instead of buying whoever they want. MAYBE, he could build up something with the academy players but that's a big fucking maybe.

> there's always a reason a player is transferred
Crazy amount of money. They didn't want to sell.

Couple shitty performances at a time when it doesn't even matter don't say much, United got a pretty solid foundation to improve on next season. Watch closer to how they play, it's shitty in build up but they never look like losing and most of problems they had were created by them instead of opposition teams, so there isn't that much more to do.

>who should have been identified as a top talent while he was at Real Soceidad
Now that's a bigger problem, the scouting went to shit after Fergie. Didn't "slap a bitch" Moyes fire them all?

Watch us last season against Everton in the FA cup, Van Gaal was doing things with this team that I liked. Fosu Mensah at Right Back, Rooney CM, a front 3 of Martial, Rashford and Lingard.

Our attack consisted of speedy wing play with the full back doubling up with the winger to create space. Fast forward to the first match of the season and its all been undone...

Im fuming tonight this clubs gone backwards you know something's wrond when OT is booing they're team
>>

>who should have been identified as a top talent while he was at Real Soceidad
'No'. Greizmann was used as a wide forward for the majority of his time at Soceidad. It's thanks to Simeone keeping him central and installing a crazy work-ethnic that everyone wants to buy him now.

What's Mou's plan these days? I don't recognize any identifiable qualities in our build-up play, or general approach. Even our defence doesn't seem very solid considering Mou used to be a master of that
>>
>>75040125
And what was the result in the end after two years? One FA cup against a side flirting with relegation every season.

Also Everton from last season is no where comparable to this one. Perspective, man. They played with a clustferfuck of a team full of recovering or tired players against a team that still has everything to play for and needs to prove themselves after a lost derby, let in a howler and had a legit goal ruled out. Not great by any means but no reason to go into panic mode either.

The season is over for them since end of last year, all that's left is winning EL and reinforcing for the next.

Once again, can't argue with this. If Griezmann keeps up the performances he mesmerized the world with (vs Las Palmas, Granada in 15/16 or vs Eibar, Malaga and Gijon this season) he can easily become a respectable successor to Ibra after transfering to PL and adjusting.
Look, their dribbling is almost identical now and Griezmann has still half a decade to improve, considering how young he is

Based on his skill alone, Pogba is pretty much a complete footballer. His main problem right now is his lacking consistency and the fact that, at times, he wants to do too many things at once, which makes his game wild and unpredictable even for his team mates.
I also agree with the Slovakian poster that Mou still hasn't found out how to utilize Pogba "correctly" in his playing system.

Modric and Kroos are passbabbies, and Pogba towers over them even at that with his supeior long range. His physical presence alone intimidates the opponents, have you seen Everton react to him being subbed on tonight? They dropped 10 feet back defensively, Fear Factor like that is absolutely unique. Not to mention his shooting, dribbling or willingness to cover every blade of grass on the pitch.
>just sign everyone

I don't get why people are saying Pogba played badly today.

What United needs is someone other than Ibrahimovic that can score goals against closed defenses (like Everton today or WBA).
>>
>>75041200
Hargreaves said it perfectly - Pogba's problem is that he's too good at everything. If you disregard the stats and ignore media that were downplaying him since August and actually WATCH him in action, you know he's one of a kind.
>>
>>75041156
Why would he leave a title challenging team that he almost single handedly put together to downgrade to fucking Utd?
>>
Canadian ManU fan checking in:

I'm so sick of the constant crossing. That's literally our only attacking option right now. Possession into a cross. It's horribly predictable. Why are we not trying to create some central penetration? Why are we not making central runs? It's infuriating to watch.

Also. Fuck all these teams that come to old trafford and turtle. play the fucking game. That's why we're drawing right now.

>too good at everything
>except attacking, defending, passing, tackling, and intercepting
He literally just dribbles around fancily, loses the ball, then dabs. That's all he does and why players a fifth of his cost in the same position (Dembele from Spurs, Henderson from Liverpool, Yaya Toure, etc) are 10x more effective than him
>>

Because Everton and WBA were defending well (and in the end of the match Everton was not even bothering about attacking). United's best chances were crossing.

Someone to help out Pogba with playmaking - Kroos is supposedly discussing terms with Manu
Someone to help out Pogba with defending - Casemiro is the dream, but realistically speaking Bakayoko
Someone to help out Pogba with box-to-box movement - Nainggolan

People seem too dumb to judge Pogbas performances for what they are and compare him with their image of how a 90m player should perform.
Same reason everyone went so spastic over Sterling a season ago.

>>75041306
>Fuck all these teams that come to old trafford and turtle. play the fucking game.
That's just idiotic. They aren't breaking the rules by playing the bus, if United fails to break down defenses, it's their fault alone.
>>
>>75041303

Hmmm, I can't think why anyone would move from a team like Spurs to fucking United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, but I'll give it a shot outside of just, y'know, managing UNITED!

Because he'd have more money at United and could easily put together a much better team there.

Although I've always disliked Manu, i always respected them. Class of 92, attacking play, old Trafford fortress, always had young players, brought in some expensive players yer, but they bought some cheap players who turned out to be great.

Now that Alex has left, it's just nonsense, basically haven't a fucking clue so they are throwing as much money as they can at it to solve the lack of SAF.

They are a fucking car crash and it's brilliant.

>Can you tell me the mistakes you made in life
yes, the time for internet forums is when you reach your 40s, have a stable boring life, a job, a wife/kids, and have to spend most of your day at work or at home with your family

being here while young is throwing your youth away: you are not going to be surrounded by as much accessible, desirable and healthy pussy as when you are young, and you'll never have as much free time to go outside to do whatever you feel like doing. You won't have any of those two things in 10 years, so take advantage of it now instead of wasting your time here

Jesus Christ, is every sports fan like that these days? Suffering from this borderline personality disorder spread by clickbait media?

United have most of their problems already sorted out. The defence looks solid. Statistically, Pogba and Herrera are the best midfield partnership in the league. Mkhitaryan, whenever he was fit, looked pretty good too.

Now it's all about finishing the chances. It's been shit this season, which is the reason why the team isn't racing for the title but just for a top 4 finish.

But if they won't manage to build a title challenge next season, I'll be very surprised.

In hindsight maybe but everyone was hyped about the transfers when you made them.
Di Maria, Falcao, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Blind, Shaw, etc etc etc.
All considered "brilliant" signings when they were brought in, although anyone who knew anything about football could see through the hype and see that there was no chance all these players could settle in time because real life football isn't FIFA Career Mode.

The thing that is ruining Manchester United is Ed Woodward, although I guarantee I will have loads of United fans arguing with me about this.

He doesn't understand football yet gets overly involved which just leads to him wanting to spend hundreds of millions of pounds on loads of new players and managers because that's what the media and the stupid fans are telling him to do.

Doesn't understand that it takes time for a side to gel and the constant changes are making it so that even the first generation of these transfers (Blind, Shaw, etc) are still struggling to fully gel into the side, and players like Pogba and Martial will probably never gel because there will be another 200m worth of new players next season.

And when this new 200m set of players come in you're all gonna wank over him and say that you're gonna win the league, and rival fans are gonna say that you're gonna walk it and you're now easily the best team in the country, and the media are gonna say you're favourites, and then you're gonna underperform because there is absolutely zero team chemistry, and everyone is gonna be confused, you're gonna underachieve massively over the course of the season and Woodward is gonna spend 300m on new players and a new manager and the cycle will repeat itself.

The second Woodward said "we are capable of bringing in a new Pogba every season" I knew you guys were fucked.

I wonder how long it'll take for this to become a mainstream opinion? I wonder how long it'll take for Woodward (and United fans, and rival fans, and the media, and pretty much everyone) to realise how this is a terrible tactic.
