one time I was in the 4 seasons lobby bar in Denver called the edge. Was drinking there all day watching NFL. After the buncos game phil simms sits down at our table with his people (large shared tables). He's next to me. I ask him one question about the game and he's immediately a dick. I proceed to name everyone on my list of top sports broadcasters: Mike Turico, Jim Nantz, Al Michaels, Troy Aikmen, Jon Gruden...and then CRIS COLLINSWORTH. He fucking lost it. Told me to go fuck myself. I laughed and continued to pour that sweet delicious coors light down my throat while that fucktard Simms got butthurt some random nfl fan didn't like his work

lol everybody hates this team. honestly you better get ready for 12 flacco to woodhead dump offs per game as the raves claw their way to a 6th seed at 10-6 in a series of 13-7 wins and 16-10 losses.

painstakingly close games have never been less exciting.

>Pick 52: Desmond King, Quincy Wilson, Budda Baker, Justin Evans, or Adoree' Jackson

I think my ideal draft would be Garrett, Williams/Howard, Tre'davious White, and Budda Baker in the first two rounds. If Peppers somehow drops down to the second round, I think it could be like last year where we grabbed Ogbah at the beginning of the second round.

>"Well, a guy like that, he's dynamic, has good speed, elusive, quick, short-area quickness is the things you see on film with him and on tape," Pederson said at last week's owners meetings, according to ESPN.com. flacco is awful for the same reason he can be incredible, because nothing fazes him. he doesn't get motivated, but he also doesn't fold under pressure. he's also had way too many oc's to get into a consistent rhythm and play style. he got paid because he's the only decent qb the ravens have ever had other than mcnair, who was just a bridge. just dont ask joe to throw 45 times per game.

i loved jim, but take it up with yorke and baalke for being stupid assholes and running him out of the building. what kind of prima donna management runs the winning coach out of town for personal reasons? why did they shit on their entire fan base because of their feelings?

this might just be my best work so far and i think its very realistic
if wilson doesn't fall to the packers I have a feeling gareon conley will
im more happy with this draft than any other so far, i feel taking a corner round 1 creates the most flexibility with the rest of the draft
>>
>>75038210
yeah losing bouye will hurt the secondary as well. if the colts kill the draft they might be able to keep pace with tennessee, but i don't think you can fix a defense that bad in one year. meanwhile the titans have two top 20 picks and addressed their biggest need in FA. assuming mariota improves it's theirs to lose.

>>
>>75038301
imo there is a small chance
look at all of the bama players last year that fell further than expected
ashawn robinson, jerran reed and reggie ragland were all expected to go in the first and fell to the 2nd
but fine replace williams with tyus bowser or derrick rivers
>>
>>75038384
seems to imply they'll be taking a DT with their first 4 picks, no?
>>75038424
williams does have off the field stuff, but idk his potential is just too high. i think he could sneak into the first what with the steelers and cowboys wanting pass rush help
>>
>>75038451
They have Williams, and Pierce was basically doing Jernigan's job at the end of the season. But who knows, Newsome always like to pick a DT in every draft.
>>
We should mourn the loss of Tony Romo. One of the most clutch players in NFL history, Romo is known for his late season successes, often saving his best performances for December and January. Though a Lombardi Trophy has evaded him in his 14 year career, Nobody will ever forget the impact Tony Romo had on the NFL.

i think he'll fit in pretty well here. playing next to fletcher cox tends to lead to some pretty good production, and ideally the ends next to him should be pretty good this year as well.

any idea as to why the ravens wanted to move up so bad though? price seems kind of cheap for a guy who's only 24

agreed
it is more likely he goes in the first than the third
but there is a possibility especially with the attention around off the field stuff for players now a days
combine that with how deep the draft is at edge rusher and there is a chance teams pass on williams for someone that might produce at a slightly lower rate but has no baggage and no headache attached
but this is all just wild speculation because from what ive seen is that no two draftboards from any website or "expert" even looks remotely similar, even across the first round where there is usually a pretty solid consensus
theres just so much talent here in this draft its amazing, you have guys like mccafrey or taco charlton that have a chance to go anywhere from like pick #8 to pick #38

>>
>>75038601
it's a very deep draft. very happy my team got back into the first round, and has 8 picks overall.
>>75038665
hard to say really. while i love a lot of the offseason moves we've made, it all really hinges on our ability to supplement the secondary through the draft. if we go into the season with anything resembling our current corner depth, we could be as bad as 6-10. but assuming joe douglas makes the most of his picks and gets some guys who can come in and start right away, i'd say we have a very good chance of going 8-8 or better. i think we probably top out at 9-7 unless one of the scarier opponents loses their QB or something.

1. Cowboys 12-4
2. Giants 10-6
3. Eagles 8-8
4. Redskins 5-11

sick trips m8
also i think this draft is going to be awesome
even areas where the draft is weak like OT QB and WR, which are the sexy positions for the draft because they usually are the biggest names itll help make the draft more fun because it will feel less like a drill and more fluid with boards changing constantly with every single pick
and even if the draft is somewhat thin at QB OT and WR there is still a good amount of talent at the positions
i think trubisky can be very good, and a lot of scouts i follow and whose opinion i trust say mahomes can be great as well
i really like corey davis at wr as well as ross and even some deeper guys like switzer who is my draftfu
tackle is actually quite thin and bereft of talent as well but what isnt there at tackle theres a good amount made up for in gaurds

And it will probably be another mid round nobody that doesn't do shit. Not that the QB class this year is anything special.

And, yeah, Romo was injury prone and old anyways, but it would have been nice to have some semblance of fucking hope at the QB position for once.

Oh well. I guess it's all aboard the Savage train.

>>75039108
They lost mediocre pieces and replaced them with either comparable mediocre pieces or with players that were going to be replacing them anyway. Also draft is deep in secondary. Cowboys will most likely have a better secondary this next season unless they draft a bust in the secondary.
>>
>>75039008
2bh i don't really like the narrative that only some QBs "can be good" or whatever. i think if deshone kizer were to go to the steelers or the cardinals or something he could end up having a great career, despite being a lower rated prospect than trubisky or whatever. QB is different than a lot of other positions in that the situation a QB finds themself in is so important to the pro they end up being. someone like myles garrett or jamal adams will be fine no matter what kind of defense they're plugged into, but the difference between going to the jets and going to the saints for a QB could be massive.
>>75039108
the way i see it is that their defense was never really that good last year, it was just kept fresh by the fact they were able to control the ball so well with dak and zeke. they're also a team who consistently drafts very well, and this draft has a lot of talent at their weaknesses. considering that they retained pretty much all of their major offensive pieces, unless dak regresses i can't see their offense doing much worse than it did this year, which should lead to a similar number of wins.

>>
>>75039247
this is true
i guess its less about the other qbs not having the ability to be good its more about hedging my bets a little
to be a little more clear i think trubisky and mahomes are the best 2 qb prospects in the draft and i think both can be very good very successful qbs in the nfl in a handful of situations instead of just 1 or 2 perfect matches

yeah i get that much. this QB class honestly scares me though. i personally like watson a lot, but people have been dissecting his game and he did throw a ton of picks last year. big game performance does matter, but look at AJ mccarron. and trubisky being the #1 guy when he only started 13 games in college really epitomizes the draft for me. i'd hate to be a team who feels they need to reach on one of these guys and then sees guys like darnold/rosen/mayfield/jackson go next year or whatever.

idk i'm glad we got wentz last year, but i remember not being happy with the pick at the time. i wonder what things would have been like if we had managed to trade up for mariota in 2015 instead.

>>
>>75039578
it would depend on how it affected the other decisions that made the team so shit in 2015. would we have resigned maclin to make mariota's transition better? kept shady for that same reason? an offense of jmatt, maclin, shady, and mariota would work pretty well with chip's philosophy.

overall though his drafting was just so bad, so unless we had taken that power back from him it wouldn't have been good for the team in the long term. having mariota would be excellent regardless of chip though, it's a shame we weren't shittier in 2014; going 10-6 is useless if you don't make the playoffs.

>>
>>75040192
corey davis probably won't be there at 14. john ross won't be BPA at 14. if foster falls and davis doesn't, we should take foster.

the WR group isn't even bad right now, so i'm thinking the front office will throw schwartz a bone and go defense in the first round. the jernigan trade makes it less likely to be DL at least.
>>
>>75040230
ye i would be kind of upset if we take ross with 14. it would be a sexy exciting pick to get a super fast wr but i really dont think hes worth that price. but the eagles brought him in like 4 times or something right so they're showing a ton of interest in him.

>>75035462
I'm Tony Romo and these are my Cowboys. I play here with my old man Jerry and Big Dez. Everyone here has an injury, suspension, or sucks ass. One thing i learned after 9 seasons is you never know where the ball is going to go when it leaves my hands.
>>
>>75040286
The Raiders in 02 did. I think the 49ers will follow the same trajectory.
>>
>>75039613
Just how jj planned it. Gotta keep Dallas strong.
>>
>>75040253
yeah honestly the eagles have shown most of their interest in picks either above or below them. i know what howie's been saying seems to indicate staying put and going BPA, but history tells me that a trade-up/down is more likely then they're letting on. i wouldn't be at all upset if we moved down to 18 or something and gained an extra 2nd/3rd rounder.

trading up is a different set of risks and rewards. i only see that happening if fournette or lattimore or adams fall below the top 5-7 range they're projected to go into. we've actually had a very good track record when trading up in the 1st, much better than when we trade down, so it's an interesting thing to consider.
>>
>>75040230
At this point, i'm convinced that their first round pick will be one of the following:

>Ross
>Cook
>Humphrey
>Conley

neither Davis or Foster will be there at #14. i can guarantee you that much as well.
>>
>>75040308
the only reason i'd be opposed to a trade down would be the fact that their history of the guys that they select AFTER they trade down is... not good.

it makes all the sense in the world for this draft, though.

>>75040377
18. titans are the first team who i could see taking him, since the teams before us and between us and them have more pressing needs. the redskins could view him as a djax replacement, but their defense is so bad that i think they'll stick to that side of the ball at 17.

as for why the titans or someone else would trade up, a prospect at a position we don't have a huge need for could fall to 14 depending on the QBs that go in the top 12. if someone like OJ howard, derek barnett, or malik hooker is there, i would prefer to auction the pick to the highest bidder, jump down and get ross or mccaffrey, and accumulate more picks in a very deep draft.
>>75040403

Schwartz would love him regardless of scheme. Plus, iirc, he was the first guy they had in for a visit.

They've met with both Ross and Cook 4 times each already, also why i think they're in that mix.

>>75040359
Both corners would be a reach at that spot. Not Ross or Cook.

I said that i was convinced that one of those 4 would be their 1st rounder. Not that they would necessarily be the 14th pick.

ross would definitely be a reach there. i don't think cook falls that far, and i don't like his off-the-field stuff regardless. let the panthers take a chance on that.

if we trade down, i want ross/mccaffrey or a corner.
>>

Although i wouldn't say he's the next OBJ in terms of talent/playstyle, more in terms of draft position. People forget that when OBJ was drafted, he was considered a reach where he was taken.

>>
>>75040795
he's a reach at 14 because he won't be BPA at that point, and if not for us he likely wouldn't be drafted for another 4 picks or more. he could end up being the best WR in this class, i'm not denying his talent. but as things stand right now i'm just not confident that the eagles will take him over a higher rated defensive player there.

Comp picks max out at r3pick33
You are losing r3p35 and getting r3p10
Up 25 spots
Instead of in 2018 draft having your original third plus a third round compensation if he (which is usually if they get 7+mil a year in FA)
I don't think that adds up

Cowboys fans in 2015

I still remember the Thanksgiving game where everyone was saying the Cowboys were the favorites and were going to win out and make the playoffs and then Kuechly picked off Romo for a touchdown return twice in the first five minutes and then Romo got his back broken again by TD.

It was the best Thanksgiving ever.

The Eagles have made nearly 40 trades since Roseman became the Eagles’ general manager in 2010. The next closest teams in that span are at less than half that number.

success isn't having "x" talented players it's consistently winning games and being competitive in the playoffs

Eagles have two playoff appearances and no playoff wins from 2010-2016. They have some good players but lets be honest they are the 3rd best team in the division right now and will likely miss the playoffs

Really don't understand why people are so high on both the Eagles and Bucs right now. It's like they just look at their last years win total and think "well they got better in the off season so they will definitely win more games this year" instead of realising the weaknesses they still have on their rosters and the fact they have the worst QBs in their respective divisions
>>
>>75048808
The Eagles don't have Kirk Cousins.
>>
>>75048834
You're right they have Carson Wentz. I'm not a big Cousins fan he's still a very streaky QB but he did throw for nearly 5,000 yards last year
>>
>>75044062
They have an offense capable of keeping up with them in a shootout.
>>
>>75045422
Will Robinson remember how to catch a fucking ball?
>>
>>75048718
A fresh franchise qb now 1 year in
A great defensesive coordinator, soon to be rock solid defensive first team again
They already have the tools of s super bowl champion team
They just need to land a good corner in the draft, and develop wentz, then they can compete in the playoffs for many many years
>>
>>75048808
Let pretend to not be bias man
Get the cowboys and Giants dick out of your mouth

The eagles are slowly inching their way to being a top defense, and they are so young too
Going back to the 2000s eagles of dominance who made deep playoff runs in consecutive years, now without a coach who will go down as the biggest choker coach of all time, and without a nigger qb
