I think it was Blitz 2000 on Dreamcast that had that epic intro with some old guy introducing an old film reel of American football but instead it was just a magnificent montage of big time hits from the era of football when those were still allowed

Plus the game itself is a total blast with 3 buds, total must have game for fans of sports games

Blitz 99 was just as good for some cuhrazee fun.

My favorite thing to play with a bud was fight night round 3 and later champion.
It was like a half an hour strategy game that always goes 12 rounds once your oppent knows what to look out for

yes pc version is pretty light. though through hex editing stadium editors have made it possible to use full HD textures for their stadiums, you might need a slightly better pc for that but there are light editions of the stadiums as well.

Blitz was fun. At one point I remember the playing the psp version (iirc they also had it for ps2) when they added storyline. Loved the fact that you could inject your players with roids but the tradeoff was that they would be injury prone or in some cases you can give them roids after they were injured. It was something seeing a guy with a broken leg run with a limp down the field. The old psx blitz games were good too. Leg dropping and suplexing opponents were fun as fuck
